Josh Welle, address none of your business, seems to think he has the Democrat nomination in the 4th Congressional District locked up before any of the votes have been counted.
The primary election between Welle and former Asbury Park councilman Jim Keady is tomorrow, June 5.
The Welle campaign has a meet and greet scheduled for Tuesday evening, June 12 in Ocean Grove.
Someone should tell Welle that the Monmouth County Democrats are having a convention that night.
Actually, someone should tell the Monmouth County Democrats that they need to have a convention that night. I guess I just did. Regardless of the outcome of Freeholder John Curley’s federal lawsuit to prevent the Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders from Censuring him and to seal the investigative report into complaints of his harassment of County employees that he obviously believes will destroy his reputation, it is hard to imagine a scenario where Curley is nominated for reelection by the Monmouth GOP.
Curley’s term is up next year. The Republican and Democrat Party nominees for the primary will be chosen by early April.
In his lawsuit, Curley alleges that the investigation and proposed censure is a “political hatchet job” by Freeholder Serena DiMaso. The current mess does nothing for DiMaso politically. Curley and DiMaso were successful running mates in 2012. DiMaso is leaving the Board in January when she will be sworn into the State Assembly. Nothing about this situation benefits DiMaso politically. After getting a brief taste of cool autumn temperatures during the first few days of October, New Jersey has been stuck in a warming trend that has made it feel more like late summer the past few days. Thanks to warm air flowing in from the southwest, much of the state was 10 to 15 degrees… Read the rest of this entry »Posted: October 10th, 2017 | Author: admin | Filed under: Al Gore, Global Warming, Monmouth County News, Monmouth Democrats | Tags: Al Gore, Climate Change, Global Warming, Monmouth County News, Monmouth Dems, New Jersey, october, Phil Murphy, Vin Gopal | Comments Off on Global Warming to continue through the weekend for Al Gore’s Monmouth County rally

Monmouth County’s Democrat leadership is spinning the shellacking they took last week from Sheriff Shaun Golden, Surrogate Rosemarie Peters, Freeholder Director Tom Arnone and Freeholder Deputy Director Serena DiMaso as a function of President-elect Donald Trump’s performance in the county.
Vin’s spin is laughable on many levels. Let’s hope he believes it.
The Monmouth GOP swept the county races because, under Golden’s leadership, they campaign the same way the govern. They work smarter and harder with less money.Art Gallagher | Filed under: 2016 Elections, Monmouth County, Monmouth County News, Monmouth Democrats, Monmouth GOP, Opinion | Tags: Art Gallagher, Dirty Doherty, Jeff Cantor, Lawless Matt Doherty, Matt Doherty, Monmouth County News, Monmouth Dems, Monmouth GOP, Opinion, Rosemarie Peters, Serena DiMaso, Shaun Golden, Sue Fulton, Tom Arnone, Tom Szymanski, Vin Gopal, Vincent Solomeno | 1 Comment »

Oh boy. Things just went from bad to worse for Vin Gopal and the Monmouth County Democrats:
The Latino Coalition Continuing Political Committee (LC-CPC) announced today its support for incumbent Monmouth County Clerk Christine Giordano Hanlon because of her forward thinking pledge to modernize the clerk’s office.
“Many of the clerk’s staff are still using typewriters to conduct business on a daily basis,” said Frank Argote-Freyre, Chair of the LC-CPC. “The Latino Coalition believes she is the right person to bring the office into the 21st Century.”
At a meeting with the Coalition, Hanlon pledged to provide more information in Spanish on the county’s website. Hanlon also said she plans to improve the Clerk’s office by adding e-filing, providing more information online, and creating a more mobile friendly office, including a forms portal for online submission of many county forms.
In contrast, her opponent, Democrat Kevin Kane never responded to a request for a meeting with the Latino Coalition.
“Kane has served for many years as a Councilman in Freehold Borough and has done absolutely nothing to improve relations between the immigrant community and the more established residents,” said Argote-Freyre. “When former Mayor Michael Wilson tried to force Latino immigrants from the borough through a series of unethical actions, Kane sat silently and did nothing to foster a climate of understanding.”Art Gallagher | Filed under: Christine Hanlon, Monmouth County News, Vin Gopal | Tags: Christine Giordano Hanlon, Christine Hanlon, Frank Argote-Freyre, Kevin Kane, Latino Coalition Continuing Political Committee, Latino Coaltion, Monmouth County Clerk Christine Giordano Hanlon, Monmouth County News, Monmouth Dems, Vin Gopal | 2 Comments »
The Monmouth County Democratic Party has endorsed incumbent Councilwoman Tara Ryan-Killeen for reelection in the non-partisan municipal election in Highlands on November 3.
In a sponsored advertisement on facebook, Chairman Vin Gopal’s organization lists every nominated Democratic candidate in Monmouth County on the County, State and Municipal levels, plus Ryan-Killeen in the non-partisan election in Highlands. The Democrats did not endorse any candidates in the only other non-partisan election this November, in Tinton Falls, which is uncontested.
Incumbent Councilman Kevin Redmond, who ran with Ryan-Killeen as a Democrat when they ran in 2012, did not receive the endorsement of Gopal’s organization. Highlands changed to non-partisan municipal elections in 2014.
Redmond and Ryan-Killeen appear to be running together, as the share a facebook page, lawn signs and have issued a joint mailer. However, they have different slogans on the ballot.Art Gallagher | Filed under: 2015 Elections, Highlands, Monmouth County News, Monmouth Democrats | Tags: Billy Caizza, Carolyn Broullon, Claudette D'Arrigo, Highlands, Kevin Redmond, Monmouth County News, Monmouth Democrats, Monmouth Dems, Tara Ryan, Tara Ryan-Killeen, Vin Gopal | 5 Comments »
