Josh Welle, address none of your business, seems to think he has the Democrat nomination in the 4th Congressional District locked up before any of the votes have been counted.
The primary election between Welle and former Asbury Park councilman Jim Keady is tomorrow, June 5.
The Welle campaign has a meet and greet scheduled for Tuesday evening, June 12 in Ocean Grove.
Someone should tell Welle that the Monmouth County Democrats are having a convention that night.
Actually, someone should tell the Monmouth County Democrats that they need to have a convention that night. I guess I just did. Regardless of the outcome of Freeholder John Curley’s federal lawsuit to prevent the Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders from Censuring him and to seal the investigative report into complaints of his harassment of County employees that he obviously believes will destroy his reputation, it is hard to imagine a scenario where Curley is nominated for reelection by the Monmouth GOP.
Curley’s term is up next year. The Republican and Democrat Party nominees for the primary will be chosen by early April.
In his lawsuit, Curley alleges that the investigation and proposed censure is a “political hatchet job” by Freeholder Serena DiMaso. The current mess does nothing for DiMaso politically. Curley and DiMaso were successful running mates in 2012. DiMaso is leaving the Board in January when she will be sworn into the State Assembly. Nothing about this situation benefits DiMaso politically. After getting a brief taste of cool autumn temperatures during the first few days of October, New Jersey has been stuck in a warming trend that has made it feel more like late summer the past few days. Thanks to warm air flowing in from the southwest, much of the state was 10 to 15 degrees… Read the rest of this entry »Posted: October 10th, 2017 | Author: admin | Filed under: Al Gore, Global Warming, Monmouth County News, Monmouth Democrats | Tags: Al Gore, Climate Change, Global Warming, Monmouth County News, Monmouth Dems, New Jersey, october, Phil Murphy, Vin Gopal | Comments Off on Global Warming to continue through the weekend for Al Gore’s Monmouth County rally

Vin Gopal, the Monmouth County Democrat Chairman until noon on Tuesday and a candidate for the Democrat nomination for State Senate in the 11th Legislative District, portrayed himself as a struggling small business owner who goes months at a time without a paycheck so that he can pay his employees, in the announcement that he was stepping down as Chairman to run for Senate.
“I know what it’s like having to make payroll every month, going months without taking a paycheck in order to make sure my employees are paid,” Gopal said to The Asbury Park Press. At Observer-PolitickerNJ, Gopal said, “I know what Monmouth County residents are going through.”
But MoreMonmouthMusings has learned that Gopal paid $900,000 in cash for a commercial property in Tinton Falls last week. He showed up for the closing with a bank check for $10,000 more than the listing price after winning a bidding war on 97 Apple Street, a single story office building.Art Gallagher | Filed under: Monmouth County News, Vin Gopal | Tags: 2017 Legislative election, 97 Apple Street Tinton Falls, Eric Brophy, Jennifer Beck, Monmouth County News, Monmouth Dems, Tic Tac Toe Development, Tic Tac Toe Development LLC, Vin Gopal | 6 Comments »

Monmouth County’s Democrat leadership is spinning the shellacking they took last week from Sheriff Shaun Golden, Surrogate Rosemarie Peters, Freeholder Director Tom Arnone and Freeholder Deputy Director Serena DiMaso as a function of President-elect Donald Trump’s performance in the county.
Vin’s spin is laughable on many levels. Let’s hope he believes it.
The Monmouth GOP swept the county races because, under Golden’s leadership, they campaign the same way the govern. They work smarter and harder with less money.Art Gallagher | Filed under: 2016 Elections, Monmouth County, Monmouth County News, Monmouth Democrats, Monmouth GOP, Opinion | Tags: Art Gallagher, Dirty Doherty, Jeff Cantor, Lawless Matt Doherty, Matt Doherty, Monmouth County News, Monmouth Dems, Monmouth GOP, Opinion, Rosemarie Peters, Serena DiMaso, Shaun Golden, Sue Fulton, Tom Arnone, Tom Szymanski, Vin Gopal, Vincent Solomeno | 1 Comment »
The Monmouth County Democrats women problem goes beyond the fact that the party has only nominated 5 women to county or legislative offices, while nominating 26 men to higher office, since Vin Gopal became the Party Chairman in 2012. The Monmouth GOP nominated 17 men and 14 women during the same period.
Gopal defended his abysmal record of nominating women by calling his candidates for county and legislative offices “sacrificial lambs” in The Asbury Park Press’s coverage of Democratic Surrogate candidate Vincent Solomeno’s 2007 facebook post bragging about “a swedish whore named cindy.”
“Yes, we do not run women as sacrificial lambs in races just for the sake of running women,” Gopal is quoted as saying to The Asbury Park Press.Art Gallagher | Filed under: Monmouth County, Monmouth County News, Monmouth Democrats, Monmouth GOP, Vin Gopal | Tags: Belmar Mayor Matt Doherty, Christine Hanlon, Goofy Gopal, Lawless Matt Doherty, Long Branch Mayor Adam Schneider, Monmouth County News, Monmouth Democratic Chairman Vin Gopal, Monmouth Democrats, Monmouth Dems, Monmouth GOP, Sea Bright Mayor Dina Long, Serena DiMaso, Surrogate Rosemarie Peters, Vin Gopal | 1 Comment »
