Red Bank’s Head Democrat Compares VP Nominee’s Prayer To Oral Sex
Clinton Delegate Zipprich’s Implied Comparison of Prayer to Performing Oral Sex is Beyond Sinful
Red Bank Councilman and Democrat Chairman Ed Ziprrich compared GOP Vice Presidential nominee Mike Pence’s daily prayer to oral sex on twitter last month, prompting Kelli O’Bosky Colwell, a Republican candidate for Red Bank Council to call for Zipprich to resign his position as a councilman and as the Democrat Local Chairman.
“He’s not fit for public office”, O’Bosky Colwell said of Zipprich.

The Republican candidates for Borough Council in Red Bank today unveiled a plan of actions they pledge to take during their first six months in office and promised not to seek reelection if they failed to deliver on their promises.
Brian Hanlon and Kelli O’Bosky Colwell are both running for public office for the first time. If they win, the Red Bank GOP will have a 5-1 super majority on the council and little justification not to deliver on its promises. Hanlon and O’Bosky are seeking to unseat incumbents Kathy Horgan, a Democrat and Cindy Burnham, a Republican turned Independent after she was denied renomination by the GOP. Democrat newcomer Erik Yngstrom is also competing for one of the two seats on the Council that voters will choose on November 8.

Democrat Chairman Vin Gopal blames MMM publisher Art Gallagher for his primary fight

The two Democrat nominees for Monmouth County Freeholder will be decided by voters in the Democrat Primary on June 4 as two candidates affiliated with the Bernie Sanders for President campaign filed to run for the nominations on Monday in Freehold.
Angelica Ashford of Manalapan and Laury Wills of Little Silver will be running against Belmar Mayor Matt Doherty and Brenda Sue Fulton in the Democrat primary. Doherty and Fulton are the choice of Monmouth Democrat Chairman Vin Gopal and will be bracketed on the primary ballot with the Hillary Clinton for President campaign.

Red Bank Republicans and the business community are opposed to expanding the paid parking zone along Monmouth Street from Maple Avenue west to Bridge Avenue, and along a stretch of Bridge, according to reports on RedBankGreen.
Discussion to end a five year moratorium on parking fees in the area was tabled at Tuesday’s Council Meeting due to the absence of Mayor Pat Menna who is recovering from heart bypass surgery. I wish Menna well and pray for his quick recovery.
I don’t know enough about the western Monmouth Street parking situation to opine, but if the businesses and Republicans think charging for parking is a bad idea, it probably is. The wiring for the parking kiosks was installed in 2012 and 13 new kiosks will cost the borough $135,308. $10,400 per kiosk, installed, sounds to me like more of a ripoff than $1 per hour to park.
What is really dumb about Red Bank’s paid parking is the coin operated meters in the heart of the business district located along side kiosks.

“Red Bank Doesn’t Need Lobbyist Money Swaying Elections”
Referring to Senate President Steve Sweeney as a conflicted Trenton lobbyist, and Red Bank Councilmen Michael Dupont and Art Murphy as influence peddling shady dealers, Red Bank Republican Chairman Sean DiSomma, launched a no holds barred attack on New Jersey’s highest ranking Democratic elected official, a presumed contender for the 2017 gubernatorial nomination, and the two councilmen he seeks to unseat next November in a statement to the press this afternoon.
DiSomma’s statement includes a warning that he will treat all lobbyists and politicians who support Red Bank Democrats to similar welcomes.
Sweeney is headlining a fundraiser for Dupont and Murphy tomorrow evening at Buona Sera. The Monmouth GOP is also holding a fund raiser in the venue at the same time.
DiSomma’s statement can be read in its entirety below the fold.

DiSomma says Dems fear losing control. Signals hard hitting campaign to come
Senate President Steve Sweeney, a contender the 2017 Democratic gubernatorial nomination, is coming to Red Bank on December 17 as the headliner for a $175 per head fundraiser for Red Bank Councilmen Arthur Murphy’s and Michael Dupont’s reelection campaign.
The soiree is being hosted by Mayor Pat Menna and former Mayor Ed McKenna at Buona Sera.
The invitation includes a questionnaire to assure compliance with the borough’s “pay to play” ordinance. Contractors that do business with the borough, developers and “Alcoholic Licensees” must disclose their attendance and in certain circumstances limit their campaign contributions to $400.
Who would have guessed that Red Bank issues licenses to alcoholics?

Sean DiSomma, the heir apparent to Jack Minton as Chairman of the Red Bank Republicans, told MMM that he is staying out of the dueling endorsements contest that the Monmouth County Republican Chairman’s race has become. “I spoke with both Chairman Bennett and Sheriff Golden,” DiSomma said, “both expressed their commitment to supporting Republicans in Red Bank.”
Minton endorsed John Bennett for Chairman earlier this week.
Red Bank might not be 100% in Bennett’s camp. “I spoke to Republicans on both sides and asked them to help me fill the vacancies on the County Committee with people who want to be involved,” DiSomma said. As of the primary on Tuesday night, 7 of the 18 Red Bank Republican County Committee seats are vacant.
Vacancies can be filled via appointment by a municipal chairperson. In order for a County Committee member who was not elected in the primary to be eligible to vote at the GOP County Convention next Tuesday, the municipal chairperson for each town must submit a list of appointees to Bertha Sumick, the Monmouth County Clerk of Elections, no later than 4:30PM on Tuesday. Each appointee’s qualifications (residency and affiliation) will be verified before voting credentials are issued.
