Golden Days: Monmouth GOP dominated county races

victory

Surrogate Rosemarie Peters, Sheriff Shaun Golden, Congressman Chris Smith, Freeholder Serena DiMaso and Freeholder Tom Arnone celebrate their victories on Election Night

By Art Gallagher

Monmouth County’s Democrat leadership is spinning the shellacking they took last week from Sheriff Shaun Golden, Surrogate Rosemarie Peters, Freeholder Director Tom Arnone and Freeholder Deputy Director Serena DiMaso as a function of President-elect Donald Trump’s performance in the county.

Vin’s spin is laughable on many levels.  Let’s hope he believes it.

The Monmouth GOP swept the county races because, under Golden’s leadership, they campaign the same way the govern.  They work smarter and harder with less money.

Walking the Line with Tom Arnone

“Walk the Line” is a documentary that chronicles one man’s quest for political identity. Lapell Crank sets out on a journey to become a politically informed citizen. The filming process follows Crank as he interacts with and interviews politicians, media figures and ordinary citizens. The documentary’s videographer, Christian Brown, was gracious enough to put together a clip of Freeholder Director Tom Arnone’s part in the film to help out with his campaign for reelection. Take a look!

The post was made in 2007 while Solomeno was a graduate student at the University of Amsterdam. It remained on his facebook page until at least three weeks ago when it was removed after MMM asked him about it.

“Obviously I don’t engage in prostitution,” Solomeno said in a phone interview. “I don’t remember making the post.  I don’t think something I did nine years ago while I was in college disqualifies me from being the Surrogate.”

“I feel sorry for the school district that the County Republicans and a local blogger are trying to create a witch hunt and create an issue that does not exist,” Gopal wrote in his email last evening.

There he goes again. Whenever things go wrong for Gopal he blames the Republicans, this website and the boogeyman.

That’s one of the reasons why we call him Goofy.
