Contraception Debate Is No Fluke

“Contraception is working just fine.  Leave it alone.” ~Mitt Romney answering George Stephanopoulos’s questions regarding States having the right to ban contraception during the New Hampshire GOP presidential debate

President Obama and his allies in the mainstream media completely fabricated the recent contraception controversy in order to distract America from its real problems which are likely to get worse between now and November 6.

Rather than talk about almost 25 million working age Americans without jobs, Obama wants America to be afraid that his Republican challenger would ban birth control if elected.

George Stephanopoulos of ABC News, formerly President Bill Clinton’s Communications Director, went to great lengths during the New Hampshire GOP presidential debate to get a sound bite of Mitt Romney saying that States have the right to ban birth control in early January.

In November of last year, Obama told then Archbishop, now Cardinal Timothy Dolan of New York, the leader of the Catholic Church in the United States, that he “get most of what he wanted” regarding contraception as the White House was hashing out the implentation of ObamaCare.

By early February, Obama changed his mind, betrayed Dolan and shifted the national debate away from the economy and on to issues that were “working just fine” —  birth control and religious freedom — when he announced the ObamaCare regulations that requires all employers, including those affiliated with religious institutions, to provide health care that includes the cost of contraceptives.

Romney avoided the trap in January, but Rick Santorum jumped into it with both feet in February, as did Republicans in the House and Senate.

Rush Limbaugh did the congressional Republicans a favor by drawing attention to himself, and away from the Blunt Amendment which was never going to pass, with his crass remarks about Sandra Fluke, the Georgetown Law School student  who is as much a part of this Obama change the subject gambit as Stephanopoulos is.

But Limbaugh did Obama a bigger favor. The President called Fluke yesterday to thank her for speaking out for women’s rights.  Now he’s framing the contraception debate as a women’s right’s issue.

Fluke is not a 23 year old coed who can’t afford birth control as originally reported in the media.  She’s a 30 year old women’s rights activist.  It was no fluke that the Democrats wanted her to testify before congress.  She’s likely to be the President’s 2012 Obama girl.

Stupid Republicans Are Losing The Public

As Governor Christie has often said, Republicans underestimate President Barack Obama at their own peril.

Using the authority granted to him in the ObamaCare bill that had to be passed before America could find out what was in it, Obama mandated that contraceptives be covered by all health insurance plans, including those provided by employers affiliated with religions that are morally opposed to contraception.

Obama laid a trap for Republicans.  They fell for it like a horny teenage girl whose boyfriend promised her he would pull out.  It’s almost too late to reverse the consequences.

Now the national debate is over contraception.  Not unemployment.  Not foreclosures. Not war.  Not terrorism. Not the price of gasoline. Not the national debt.  Not the mandates of ObamCare.  We’re having a national debate about contraception.  Republicans have been framed as anti-contraception and as too far out of the mainstream to be a relevant political party.

Republicans could have framed this debate in context of their commitment to repeal ObamaCare if the law is not overturned by the Supreme Court.  Instead they got into a national debate over contraception that will hamper, if not destroy, their chances of winning the White House and/or the Senate, even if the Court overturns ObamaCare.

Republicans in Washington and on the presidential campaign trail need to stop talking about contraception.  They don’t have the votes to stop what Obama is doing.  If they keep doing what they are doing, they never will.

It’s the economy, stupid.

McDonald’s Accounts For Up To 30,000 Of 54,000 New Jobs In May

By Art Gallagher

McDonald’s may have accounted for over half of the job growth in the U.S. economy in May, according to a Morgan Stanley estimate.

One has to wonder what the jobs report would have been had McDonald’s not been granted an Obamacare waiver last October.

Federal Judge: ObamaCare Unconstitutional

U.S. District Judge Roger Vinson ruled, without trial, that the ObamaCare bill passed last year is unconstitutional.

The health care overhaul has been stricken down in one other court, and upheld in two others.  The matter will likely head now to the U. S. Supreme Court.

The text of Judge Vinson’s 78 page ruling can be found here.

If ObamaCare is so great, why does the White House keep exempting its best friends from it?

Wake Up, America!

By Thomas Stokes, Middletown

Obamacare was supposed to help seniors. Not really. Over $500 Billion in Medicare cuts are strangling medical services for the elderly. The cuts may force a number of hospitals to close. Adding millions more onto the Medicaid rolls will further increase the costs to the taxpayers.

Obamacare was not supposed to ration healthcare services. Obama nominated Dr. Donald Berwick, an advocate of health-care rationing to run Medicare and Medicaid. Dr. Berwick’s claim that the government must ration health care is a portent of things to come. “I am romantic about the National Health Service; I love it.” said Dr. Berwick in England in 2008 on the 60th anniversary of the British National Health Service.

Based upon their support for rationing, I guess I’m lucky to have had my open heart surgery done in 2007; some government bureaucrat can now decide whether I could have that operation or not. No government bureaucrat should ever come between a patient and their doctor.

As respects controlling costs; the career politicians assured us that health care costs would go down. Oops, even the Health and Human Services department now projects costs to rise more than originally projected. Didn’t they know that adding 34 million more people to the healthcare system would increase costs for those who subsidize this (us, the taxpayers). Are they really that stupid not to understand that by increasing demand on medical services without a corresponding increase in the supply (doctors and nurses) defacto rationing would occur?

“During 2010-2019, however, these effects (cost control features) would be outweighed by the increased costs associated with the expansions of health insurance coverage,” wrote Richard S. Foster, Medicare’s chief actuary. Insurance companies are now forced to raise rates for current policyholders to cover the additional costs caused by Obamacare.

It’s obvious that the Democrat plan to save Social Security and Medicare is to cut the payouts (not just the Cost of Living Increase) by reducing the number of recipients through attrition (namely, to kill the seniors off by rationing their health care). The only business which will thrive as a result are the funeral homes.

Of course, the only other profession who will continue to prosper are the attorneys. The ambulance chasers were deliberately protected by the Democrat Congress led by Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid when they refused to include any type of tort reform in Obamacare.

I urge my fellow seniors, homeowners and taxpayers to thank Obama and the Democrat career political establishment on Tuesday, November 2nd, by voting Republican for every office, even if you have to hold your nose.

The only way we will ever change Washington is if we change the people we send there. Anna Little in Congressional District 6 and Scott Sipprelle in Congressional District 12 would be a great start.

LITTLE: MY DETERMINATION TO REPEAL OBAMACARE ISN’T LITTLE AT ALL

(HIGHLANDS, October 19) – Republican Congressional challenger Anna Little – responding to news reports indicating that Boeing has joined a growing list of major American corporations that have decided to curtail their employees’ health benefits in the wake of the government takeover of healthcare – today reiterated her determination to repeal Obamacare when she gets to Congress in January.”We said from the beginning,” said Little, “that if this monstrosity passed, companies would be forced to make a hard choice between dropping coverage for their employees or raising their employees’ contributions to their benefits. Yesterday, Boeing announced that it is joining the long and growing list of companies that is already beginning to curtail benefits for its employees – in this case, for their 90,000 non-union employees.

“The government takeover of healthcare – ‘Pallonecare,’ in honor of his declaration that ‘This is not Obama’s bill. This isn’t Nancy Pelosi’s bill. It’s MY bill’ – was wrong on several fronts. It is bad medicine, and it is bad for business. And I cannot for the life of me understand why our Representative would think it was a good thing to raise the cost of doing business at a time when we’re trying to dig our way out of a jobless recovery.

“Washington just doesn’t get it,” continued Little. “Rather than take the right kind of actions – like voting to extend ALL the current tax rates for EVERY federal taxpayer, so that the entrepreneurs and job-creators in our economy know what will be the tax rates they face next year, and can make investment decisions accordingly – our leaders focus on growing the size of government and the reach of government, pushing it into areas it has no business being.

“Repealing Pallonecare will be the first step to restoring our nation’s economic growth,” said Little. “And the second step will be to extend the current tax rates for ALL of America’s taxpayers, so that NO ONE faces a tax hike in the middle of a jobless recovery.

“Remember, you cannot change Washington without changing the people we send to Washington!”

Jersey Shore Tea Party Files Suit Against ObamaCare

HEALTH CARE LAWSUIT FILED PRO SE

The Jersey Shore Tea Party in conjunction with Ocean County Citizens For Freedom (a Tea Party Group), the Colts Neck Tea Party and several individuals have filed a 15 count lawsuit IN NJ Federal Court against ObamaCare. (suit attached)

The suit names Kathleen Sebelius US Dept of Health and Human Services, Timothy Geithner, US Dept. of the Treasury and Hilda Solis, US Dept of Labor as Plaintiffs and was filed by plaintiffs Nicholas E. Purpura and Donald R Laster Jr pro se. They are Jersey Shore Tea Party members.

The lawsuit includes several counts already approved in Federal Court and adds numerous other charges.  This consortium of individuals and groups marks a milestone in the New Jersey Tea Party Movement.  New Jersey is a hot bed of Tea Party activity and this lawsuit is in line with those efforts to secure the Republic from leftist radical elements that have seized the executive and legislative branches of our government.  The overt debasement and circumventing of our Constitution cannot be permitted to proceed unchallenged.

Obama Pallone Care Even Worse Than Critics Thought

From the Washington Examiner:

» Obamacare won’t decrease health care costs for the government. According to Medicare’s actuary, it will increase costs. The same is likely to happen for privately funded health care.

» As written, Obamacare covers elective abortions, contrary to Obama’s promise that it wouldn’t. This means that tax dollars will be used to pay for a procedure millions of Americans across the political spectrum view as immoral. Supposedly, the Department of Health and Human Services will bar abortion coverage with new regulations but these will likely be tied up for years in litigation, and in the end may not survive the court challenge.

» Obamacare won’t allow employees or most small businesses to keep the coverage they have and like. By Obama’s estimates, as many as 69 percent of employees, 80 percent of small businesses, and 64 percent of large businesses will be forced to change coverage, probably to more expensive plans.

» Obamacare will increase insurance premiums — in some places, it already has. Insurers, suddenly forced to cover clients’ children until age 26, have little choice but to raise premiums, and they attribute to Obamacare’s mandates a 1 to 9 percent increase. Obama’s only method of preventing massive rate increases so far has been to threaten insurers.

» Obamacare will force seasonal employers — especially the ski and amusement park industries — to pay huge fines, cut hours, or lay off employees.

» Obamacare forces states to guarantee not only payment but also treatment for indigent Medicaid patients. With many doctors now refusing to take Medicaid (because they lose money doing so), cash-strapped states could be sued and ordered to increase reimbursement rates beyond their means.

» Obamacare imposes a huge nonmedical tax compliance burden on small business. It will require them to mail IRS 1099 tax forms to every vendor from whom they make purchases of more than $600 in a year, with duplicate forms going to the Internal Revenue Service. Like so much else in the 2,500-page bill, our senators and representatives were apparently unaware of this when they passed the measure.

» Obamacare allows the IRS to confiscate part or all of your tax refund if you do not purchase a qualified insurance plan. The bill funds 16,000 new IRS agents to make sure Americans stay in line.
