The race for the Republican nomination for Governor of New Jersey kicked off in December with dueling videos, social media posts, press releases and endorsements announced by the campaigns for Jack Ciatarelli and Doug Steinhardt.
Ciattarelli won the month and is a superior position going into the pre-nominating conventions, pre-primary season of January, February and March.

Republican County Committee Members and delegates to GOP county nominating conventions throughout New Jersey should mark their calendars for January 23 and February 28 when gubernatorial contenders Jack Ciattarelli and Doug Steinhardt are scheduled to faceoff in debates hosted by The New Jersey Globe.
We can end the speculation that former Governor Chris Christie will try to get his old job back next year.
Christie has accepted a paid gig as the keynote speaker for the Northeast Regional Carwash Convention in Atlantic City on October 4, 2021, according to Carwash.com.

The Republicans, each a potential gubernatorial candidate against Prince Philip Dunton Murphy next year, have been relentless this week in their criticism of MVC’s reopening to long lines in the heat and humidity, lack of social distancing, fights, and drivers camping overnight to get their cars registered and licenses renewed or issued.

Former Assemblyman Jack Ciattarelli, the first Republican to declare as a candidate for Governor next year issued a scathing assessment of the Murphy Administration’s reopening of Motor Vehicle Commission facilities and called for Governor Murphy to fire Commissioner Sue Fulton.

Former Assemblyman Jack Ciattarelli is apparently looking to clear his path to the 2021 Republican gubernatorial nomination by inviting his past and potential political opponents to attend his campaign kickoff.
Ciattarelli, who lost the GOP gubernatorial primary to former Lt. Gov Kim Guadagno in 2017, will ceremonially announce his candidacy at his high school alma matter in Raritan on January 21, according to a NewJerseyGlobe report. He told the Associated Press that he was running last February and has been a frequent guest at GOP events throughout New Jersey ever since.
MMM has learned that the candidate has personally invited Guadagno, as well and NJ GOP Chairman Doug Steinhardt, Monmouth County GOP Chairman, Sheriff Shaun Golden, and former U.S. Senate candidate Bob Hugin to attend the event.

The pre-primary of the 2021 GOP nomination for NJ Governor got a lot more interesting this morning.
In a Star Ledger Friendly Fire interview with Democrat strategist Julie Roginsky and Republican strategist Mike DuHaime that Assembly Minority Leader Jon Bramnick shared on facebook, DuHaime declared Bramnick to be a “top contender for governor after a strong 2019.”
