Look who is covering Little and Pallone!

The Asbury Park Press has a front page piece about the Monmouth University Poll on CD-6.  There is even a positive headline for Anna Little,
Poll: Little closing in on Pallone in 6th District race.  Good for the Nudniks, they easily could have written, Little still trailing Pallone.

They’re probably trying to get back into the CNN news feed.

Actually the credit should go to Patrick Murray.  The Nudnik article was basically a rewrite of his press release for the poll.

With this line, Frank Pallone will need to bet on a strong turnout in more Democratic areas of this district to fend off this challenge,” Murray acknowledged that the incumbent is not winning this race.  The poll predicts a strong Democratic turnout in its sample.  Such a turnout can not be counted on.

There is no question this race will be determined on turnout.  As my friends at InTheLobby write today, Independents are siding with Republicans nationally by 14%.  In NJ-6, Little leads Pallone by 21% among Independents, according to Murray. Up from 14% three weeks ago.  The increase in support among Independents correlates with Little’s increased name recognition.  Three weeks ago, 45% of the voters had no opinion of her. Now that number is down to a still very high 31%.

Frank Pallone is on the verge of losing to a relative unknown.  As Little becomes more known, her support swells.  She’s easy to vote for, despite Pallone and Barbara Buono trying to paint her as extreme and out of the mainstream.

Murray credits the “Anna’s Army” ground game, lead by “General” Russ Cote, as the reason that Little has closed the gap so significantly in three weeks.  There is no question that The Bayshore Tea Party’s passionate and tireless troops continue change the political landscape of Central Jersey.  If Anna wins, they will have made that unpredictable result happen.

However, also contributing to Anna’s surge is Governor Christie’s personal involvement in the campaign, and Frank Pallone’s own TV ads. Pallone’s “positive” ad emphasises how out of touch he is with the district.  In my own unscientific poll of 5 CD-6 voters, 80% said they were less likely to vote for Pallone after seeing the ad. 20% were undecided.  Pallone’s “negative” ad attacking Little is a complete failure.  100% do not believe Little is the extremist Pallone portrays her to be. The ad can’t help but increase her name recognition.

Finally, Diane Gooch’s ad for Voice For My Child , while not mentioning Little, has given Independents an additional reason to vote against Pallone.

Little’s TV advertising will start airing tomorrow.  Her direct mail pieces have been going out for the last week.  She is poised to win this, but still needs help.

Do what you can to get out the vote for Anna Little in CD-6.  Donate, talk to friends and family, email your friends links to her ads.  As Governor Christie has repeatedly said, we don’t want to wake up on November 3 regretting the one thing we didn’t do.

If you’re in CD-12, or know people who vote in CD-12, do the same for Scott Sipprelle.  Send them the link to this ad.

Scott’s “Trail Mix” for October 25th

We are a mere NINE DAYS away from a “shock-the-pundits” victory.  The “experts” said it could never happen. The NY Times poll originally gave us a 1% probability of victory. The powers-that-be gerrymandered NJ-12 so that it would be safe for the incumbent for as long as he cared to run for re-election. But, then, something happened. That something was you! Finish strong, and complete what you set out to do. The future begins on November 3.

Trenton

This weekend Team Sipprelle took our message of economic opportunity to the streets of Trenton.  Long taken for granted by Democrats and ignored by Republicans, the people of our capital city were delighted to see that we care about their community and that we have a commitment to rebuild. We cannot solve America’s problems without tackling our most difficult problems at their core.

There is Nothing Wrong with America

I met a whole new collection of American heroes this week:

A survivor of five concentration camps who came to America and immediately enlisted to serve in the Korean War

A minister who extends his gospel beyond his church to preach fiscal responsibility and self-empowerment to his parishioners

A husband and wife team of doctors who volunteer their time to provide high-quality medical care in a charity health clinic

A Mercer County businessman who runs a thriving manufacturing company, covers full healthcare for his employees, and has never had a layoff

There is nothing wrong with America, but there is something wrong with our government. It has become out-of-touch and disconnected from your values and your concerns.

More Mud from Mr. Holt

Please forgive me for not dedicating any more time and space to refute Mr. Holt’s increasingly bizarre and meanspirited barrage of smears and personal attacks directed at me. Once his advisors and consultants move on, I expect that he will find the quiet time to wrestle with his conscience.

October 31 Blitz in East Brunswick

Please mark Sunday, October 31 on your calendar for Team Sipprelle to rally and canvass with the residents of East Brunswick. We need as many volunteers as possible, so plan your road trip. Stand tall with us for this final weekend.   Details shortly.

Join Us on Victory Night!

Team Sipprelle will gather at the Westin Princeton at Forrestal Village (on Route 1) on Election Night, starting at 7pm. If you are a challenger or working GOTV, please come on over after 8pm.

Sipprelle and Holt on Wall Street Bailouts and Too Big To Fail

Sipprelle responds to the Neptune Nudniks

By Scott Sipprelle (Published in today’s Asbury Park Press)

The Asbury Park Press’ recent editorial endorsement in the 12th Congressional District race correctly described the contest between 12-year incumbent Rep. Rush Holt and me as providing voters a stark choice between two very different candidates with different visions about the future direction of our country.

Beyond that, the editorial read more like one of Rush Holt’s negative campaign attacks against me – nasty in tone and short on facts. I thank the editorial board for allowing me the opportunity to respond and set the record straight.

First, I encourage everyone reading this to visit my website at www.supportscott2010.com and read my comprehensive “Blueprint for Renewal.” I am confident they will find it to be the most detailed and thoughtful series of position papers put forth by any congressional candidate in the country this year.

I set out to run a positive campaign of ideas and I am proud to have done just that.

Now, on to the specific issues:

The editorial board falsely accused me of opposing insurance coverage for those with pre-existing conditions. This is a completely fabricated claim that has been promulgated by Holt. In fact, my website lays out a novel plan for large national insurance pools of “uninsureds,” grouped by medical specialty that would be subsidized by federal dollars.

The editorial board also parroted one of Holt’s misleading attacks against me regarding unemployment benefits, quoting a statement they claim was extracted from my campaign website. My campaign website has never had any reference whatsoever to unemployment benefits, another mistake that indicates a sloppy research effort by the Press or an excessive reliance on talking points distributed by Holt.

The truth is that while congressional Democrats have offered to extend benefits indefinitely and congressional Republicans have called for cutting them off immediately, I have discussed a sensible compromise that is both compassionate and fiscally responsible, while focusing on the critical task of rebuilding America’s economic engine.

The best social welfare net is a job. Holt has no plan to create private sector jobs; he is offering just more of the status quo.

The board’s most ridiculous attack against me was regarding partisan politics. The fact of the matter is Holt votes with his party nearly 99 percent of the time and believes any idea offered by a Democrat is good and any idea offered by Republican is bad. He’s part of the problem in Washington and has contributed mightily to the toxic environment there.

On the other hand, I have supported a reform Democrat for mayor in my hometown of Princeton against an entrenched political machine, and I took considerable flak during the Republican primary for my financial donations to Democrats with whom I agreed on certain issues. There is only one candidate in this race who has demonstrated a willingness to reach across the aisle to solve problems – and it is me.

Less than two weeks from today, voters will go to the polls to make a historic decision. I would like them to believe I am the candidate who can make America work again.

Wake Up, America!

By Thomas Stokes, Middletown

Obamacare was supposed to help seniors. Not really. Over $500 Billion in Medicare cuts are strangling medical services for the elderly. The cuts may force a number of hospitals to close. Adding millions more onto the Medicaid rolls will further increase the costs to the taxpayers.

Obamacare was not supposed to ration healthcare services. Obama nominated Dr. Donald Berwick, an advocate of health-care rationing to run Medicare and Medicaid. Dr. Berwick’s claim that the government must ration health care is a portent of things to come. “I am romantic about the National Health Service; I love it.” said Dr. Berwick in England in 2008 on the 60th anniversary of the British National Health Service.

Based upon their support for rationing, I guess I’m lucky to have had my open heart surgery done in 2007; some government bureaucrat can now decide whether I could have that operation or not. No government bureaucrat should ever come between a patient and their doctor.

As respects controlling costs; the career politicians assured us that health care costs would go down. Oops, even the Health and Human Services department now projects costs to rise more than originally projected. Didn’t they know that adding 34 million more people to the healthcare system would increase costs for those who subsidize this (us, the taxpayers). Are they really that stupid not to understand that by increasing demand on medical services without a corresponding increase in the supply (doctors and nurses) defacto rationing would occur?

“During 2010-2019, however, these effects (cost control features) would be outweighed by the increased costs associated with the expansions of health insurance coverage,” wrote Richard S. Foster, Medicare’s chief actuary. Insurance companies are now forced to raise rates for current policyholders to cover the additional costs caused by Obamacare.

It’s obvious that the Democrat plan to save Social Security and Medicare is to cut the payouts (not just the Cost of Living Increase) by reducing the number of recipients through attrition (namely, to kill the seniors off by rationing their health care). The only business which will thrive as a result are the funeral homes.

Of course, the only other profession who will continue to prosper are the attorneys. The ambulance chasers were deliberately protected by the Democrat Congress led by Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid when they refused to include any type of tort reform in Obamacare.

I urge my fellow seniors, homeowners and taxpayers to thank Obama and the Democrat career political establishment on Tuesday, November 2nd, by voting Republican for every office, even if you have to hold your nose.

The only way we will ever change Washington is if we change the people we send there. Anna Little in Congressional District 6 and Scott Sipprelle in Congressional District 12 would be a great start.

Rasmussen:Most Voters Oppose the Reelection of Anyone Who Voted for the Health Care Law, Auto Bailouts, Stimulus Plan

From Rasmussen Reports:

Incumbents, beware: The major votes you’ve cast in Congress over the past couple years appear likely to come back to haunt you this Election Day.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that most Likely Voters think their representative in Congress does not deserve reelection if he or she voted for the national health care law, the auto bailouts or the $787-billion economic stimulus plan. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

Those votes also appear to be driving factors in the GOP’s consistent lead over Democrats on the Generic Congressional Ballot. Most strong supporters of President Obama believe those who voted for the measures should be reelected. Even more of those who Strongly Oppose the president disagree.

Forty-three percent (43%) of all Likely Voters say someone who voted for the health care law deserves to be reelected. Fifty percent (50%) oppose their reelection.

Thirty-six percent (36%) say if their local representative voted for the taxpayer bailouts of General Motors and Chrysler, he or she deserves to be returned to Congress. Fifty-three percent (53%) say that person does not deserve reelection.

Similarly, 41% say their representative in Congress should be reelected if he or she voted for the stimulus plan. But 50% don’t see it that way and say the individual should not be reelected.

The partisan divide is predictable since virtually no congressional Republicans voted for any of these measures. So Democratic voters overwhelmingly think those in Congress who voted for them should be reelected, while Republicans feel just as strongly that they should not be reelected.

But, tellingly, voters not affiliated with either party also feel strongly that supporters of the health care law, the auto bailouts and the stimulus should not be returned to Congress.

Scott’s “Trail Mix” for October 19th

Team Sipprelle is Surging! A recent Monmouth University poll has us within the margin of error.

This same poll had Gov. Christie down by 3 points three days before his 4 point electoral victory. I won’t tell you where the polls had us back in April, but let’s just say we’re “tied” now with exactly two weeks to go. It comes down to a challenge that will be decided by which campaign has the most energy, passion, and commitment. My faith is squarely centered on Team Sipprelle. Let’s roll!

Mr. Holt Hits a New Low

A glaring confirmation of our momentum is the increasingly desperate tone of Mr. Holt’s campaign slurs. When his fabrications about my position on Social Security and Equal Pay for Women failed to gain traction, he turned to even more odious innuendoes. He is now filling the airwaves with two new charges: first, that my former investment firm set up an “offshore corporation” to manage capital for foreigners. But Mr. Holt doesn’t elaborate on this scary half-truth sound bite. Since foreigners and U.S. institutions are not subject to backup U.S. withholding taxes, they prefer to invest their money with U.S.-based money-managers through foreign-based funds, while all U.S. taxpayers (including myself and my former clients) invest through U.S.-based funds. It is a good thing for American jobs and prosperity that foreigners send their money to U.S. money-managers for investment in the American economy, but Mr. Holt does not really care about smart economic policy.

His second personal smear is truly bizarre: that I somehow colluded with the Democrat machine that controls my town, and with the independent appraisal firm that conducted a state-mandated, town-wide property revaluation, and fixed my own property tax assessment. In other words, I supposedly committed a crime to save myself a few thousand dollars in taxes. Does he even realize how ludicrous this sounds?

The Miracle in Chile

The miraculous rescue of the trapped miners in Chile presents a powerful statement in support of the miracle of our free-enterprise system and of the willingness of private sector entrepreneurs to step up and deliver in a time of crisis. The product which saved those trapped miners was a drill bit produced by a small Pennsylvania company called Center Rock. While Mr. Holt persists in vilifying corporate profits and business success at every turn, this profitable private sector innovation demonstrated that – any time, any place – a thriving business sector is often the difference between life and death.

More Double-Talk by Mr. Holt on Israel

At our debate last night in East Brunswick, Mr. Holt claimed that he was an “early sponsor” of the Iran Sanctions Act. Fact checking is an amazing thing: Mr. Holt was the absolute last of the 343 House members to sign on in support of this bill as a co-sponsor, adding his name on Dec. 9, 2009 – nearly 8 ½ months after the bill was introduced.

All-Hands-on-Deck for Our Trenton Blitz

Sipprelle – Holt Debate Tonight

Rush Holt, fresh off his visit with the crazed sex poodle , refused to appear with Scott Sipprelle last evening at Temple Shalom in Aberdeen.   MMM was busy editing video of the Little-Pallone debate.  Politickernj has summaries of Holt’s and Sipprelle’s appearance at the temple.

Holt won’t be able to avoid Scott this evening as they face off in their second debate, 7:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m, at Young Israel of East Brunswick 193 Dunham’s Corner Road, East Brunswick . The debate is co-sponsored by the Middlesex County Jewish Federation and the Monmouth County Jewish Federation and will be moderated by NJ101.5’s Eric Scott.
