Pallone and Holt Rated ZERO By Small Business Council (Adler Not Far Behind)

Thursday 10/14:  In their report issued this week http://www.sbecouncil.org/scorecard/ the Small Business Entrepreneurship Council released ratings for both the House and Senate for 2010.  Both Central NJ Democratic congressional incumbents Frank Pallone and Rush Holt rated ZERO OUT OF 100.  This information contradicts anything Pallone and Holt have been chirping on the campaign trail.  Whatever boasts they have made about being a friend to the American small business owner are statistically laughable. To absorb the enormity (or lack thereof) of this rating, consider Tea Party favorites like congresspersons Ron Paul-Tx 95%, Michele Bachmann-MN 100% and senator Jim DeMint SC-100%.
 
In a slightly higher rating than Pallone’s and Holt’s dismal performance, NJ congressman Adler scored 23%
 
The business group itself issued the following guidelines to analyze the ratings:
 
Champion of the Entrepreneur:  90% – 100%
Advocate of the Entrepreneur:  80% – 89%
Friend of the Entrepreneur:  70% – 79%
 
Notice how the business group did not provide a scorecard key for ratings under 70%, instead leaving it to the savvy American voter to draw their own conclusion.  A low rating is one thing, but ZERO?  Our elected officials voted without fail against small business every and all the time? 23% for Adler?  He didn’t come close to a 70%
 
So who exactly are these three gentlemen supporting?  Who exactly are these men representing?  Certainly not the heart of the American experience, our small businesses.  Certainly not the constituent struggling to earn a living, raise a family and pay the bills
 
The Tea Party Movement and groups in NJ are careful to vet candidates before publicly releasing support.  This cycle Ms. Anna Little, a staunch conservative and the THE banner person for the NJ Tea Party Movement is locked in a race with Pallone.  I am comfortable in assuming Ms. Little’s congressional scorecard would be more in line with a Bachmann, a Paul or a Demint.  Do we want our 6th CD congressperson on the side of American small businesses?  I would hope so.  It is quite apparent Pallone is not.
 
In the other races, Sipprelle (vs. Holt) has picked up some Tea Party support and is the product of the private sector himself and has built and operates a mid-sized financial firm.  Do you see Scott voting 100% NO against small businesses, or even 23% of the time?  I don’t.  What is Rush Holt voting for? In the 3rd CD, challenger Runyan has opened lines of communication with local Tea Parties.  Do we see Mr. Runyan improving on Adler’s 23% rating?  I do.
 
If there was ever hard statistical data to prove the arrogance and unknown goals and aspirations of central NJ’s congressional incumbents, this is it.  What are they thinking?  What playbook are they following?  Whose agenda are they supporting?  I don’t have the answers to those questions but I do know two things; 
1) American citizens yearn for a vibrant economy, energy independence, liberty friendly regulations and a government that knows its place in our lives.
2) All three of these congressmen do not share the vision of a vibrant, economically healthy America with a blossoming middle class.  They do not share the vision of an realistic energy independent America.  They do not share the vision of a liberty driven, business friendly atmosphere.
 
To return these three incumbemts to office would be an American travesty.  To send Anna Little, Messrs. Sipprelle and Runyan to DC would be a Walls of Jericho trumpet blast to the detached inhabitants of congress and DC that we indeed, have had enough.

Monmouth Poll: CD-12 Holt 51% – Sipprelle 46% Margin of Error 3.9%

The Monmouth University Polling Institute released a poll of NJ-12 this morning indicating that Congressman Rush Holt leads GOP candidate Scott Sipprelle in their race to represent the district by a margin of 51% -46%.

According to the poll, Holt leads Sipprelle by a wide margin in the western parts of the district; Mercer County and part of Hunterdon, 63% to 33%.  Sipprelle leads Holt in Monmouth County 58% – 33%.  In the central part of the district, parts of Middlesex and part of Franklin Township in Somerset, Holt’s lead is 4%, 50%-46%.

Sipprelle Earns Endorsement of Recreational Fishing Alliance (RFA)

Princeton, October 13, 2010 – Calling incumbent Congressman Rush Holt (NJ-12) a “disaster” on issues affecting saltwater fishermen, the Recreational Fishing Alliance (RFA) formally endorsed challenger Scott Sipprelle for Congress in the 12th District.

The RFA has a history of endorsing both Republicans and Democrats running for office.

“We are proud to Scott Sipprelle for Congress in New Jersey’s 12th District,” said RFA Executive Director Jim Donofrio. “Congressman Holt has been a disaster for anyone who fishes in saltwater and the small business owners who makes their living off of the sport fishing industry. Frankly, Congressman Holt has been MIA on all of our fishery and coastal issues. In clear conflict with the district he is supposed to represent, Congressman Holt continually sides with the radical environmentalists whose mission it is infringe upon our rights as fishermen and small business owners.”

“I am humbled by the support I’ve received from fisherman and sportsmen all across Central Jersey,” said Sipprelle, who called the RFA’s endorsement “critical” in Monmouth County. “As a Congressman, I pledge to recognize the importance of my constituents who fish and the small businesses they support. I look forward to working with respected organizations like the RFA to manage our nations’ fisheries with sound science, support reforming arbitrary fishing laws, and backing candidates for the Mid Atlantic Fishery Management Council that best represent the interests of our fishing community and their businesses.”

Open Letter to Anthony- A mainstream Republican

As most of you know we have been working hard to get Pallone and Holt fired. Last week I sent a Tea Party related email to Anthony in error. I believe it was concerning today’s Long Branch parade. Somehow his email ended up in my outgoing address book after he was notified about a Scott Sipprelle event.

So the following day I got a very smug message requesting I remove his email because, first of all, he is not in Pallone’s district and second of all, he is a “Mainstream Republican” and has nothing to do with tea parties.Austin

Of course, I gladly deleted his useless email, but as many of you know I am not likely to allow anyone to take an un-responsed swipe at our Tea Party movement.

After apologizing for sending him the first email, I included this non-apology.

The following paragraphs are political in nature and if you do not wish to be further informed, please stop reading now and send this email to trash or junk. If you read further, it’s your choice. And remember, this is a one time letter to you which has been induced by the subtle message embedded in your brief but curt comment.

First I would like to tell you what I have told many Senators and Congressmen all over this country. That is, the days of allowing Federal elected officials to hide from the American people and not be required to answer for their actions, because they are “not in my district or state” are over. It matters not what state or district they serve. Any and every bill or law they enact or vote for impacts everyone in this country. And, everyone in the country, that pays taxes, pays their salaries and expenses. Each and every one of them need to answer to each and every one of us.

It is the duty of all Americans, to work against anyone that is involved in destroying this country, regardless of where they live. The sooner everyone understands that and begins to act on that, the sooner we will be able to get and keep the scoundrels out of Washington and our Statehouses.

Like you I am a Republican. Life long. So why am I now in the leadership of the largest and most successful Tea Party in NJ? Is it because I want to see the Republican Party weakened or destroyed? Is it that I want to see a 3rd party or some other nonsense? The answer to those questions is a resounding no.

I am Tea Party because I fear where my Republican Party has gone. I fear that the GOP has become Dem-lite and it has, over many years, become too settled into a 2nd class position behind the masters of the liberal machine here in NJ and the country. I too am to blame, I spent 60 years of my life sitting back and not paying attention, believing in the false hope that our elected politicians would do the right thing. I was wrong, and my children and theirs will ultimately pay for that apathetic-misconception.

The following is a message we have composed to the youth of our country. This and everything else we stand for can be found on our website, to which I will not post a link here.

We are sorry! We have let you down. During the past 40 years, some of us even longer, we have failed to protect for you, the beautiful country our parents forged for us.

We took it all for granted. As we enjoyed the glorious gifts of prosperity and freedoms that our forefathers suffered and died to provide for us, and we foolishly failed to guard them for you . For this we are profoundly sorry.

Along with this apology comes an equally profound promise, to you, our beloved children.

We the people of the Tea Party movement have awakened and will fail you no more. We will fight to protect what’s left of our glorious America and not stop the struggle to regain what we have let slip away.

Anthony, this is why I am Tea Party. This is why the Republican Party has nothing to fear from our movement. Our movement will save the Grand Old Party as we save our country. We will, from this election cycle and for as many years as it takes, use every tool at our command to work with the GOP to select the best, constitutional, conservative people available during the primary season and will never, ever allow a liberal Republican to walk into a general election without a battle. Those days are gone.

We will never again allow the leaders of our Republican Party to hand a victory to the left in this country before taking the first snap from center.

So in closing, you and many other “mainstream” Republicans may feel like you are not part of the “Tea Party” movement. But we are a part of you and we are gong to bring our party back to it’s roots and values. We have taken, I’m sure you have noticed, several very large steps to date. You can join us in this effort or be left behind. We will not relent. We have promised our children and pledged allegiance to our Flag.

I don’t know if you have read this far. I took some very import time to write this to you, so I hope you have. Either way, this message will be learned and understood by all in the coming years.

We will save this country for you and posterity, with or without the help of “Mainstream” Republicans..

Remember Chris Daggett?

He ran for Governor last year as an Independent.  MoreMonmouthMusings broke the story that the Democrats paid for robo calls for Daggett in the closing days of the 2009 campaign.  Shameless and desperate, the Dems kept making those calls even after it was all over the news that they were paying for them and after Daggett himself condemned them for doing so.

There are plenty of signs that the Democrats are equally shameless and desperate this year as the GOP is poised to take control of the New Jersey Congressional delegation with victories in the 3rd, 6th and 12th districts.

In the 3rd district, the press has finally confirmed what everybody knew.  The Democrats put a 3rd party “Tea Party” candidate on the ballot to syphon votes away from Republican Jon Runyan in order to help freshman Democratic Congressman John Adler retain his seat in a traditionally Republican district.

The biggest indicator that Scott Sipprelle is winning in the 12th district is that Rush Holt has agreed to debates.  Holt doesn’t even like to take live questions from his constituents.  Rush is probably taking comfort from the fact that liberal Ben Dworkin of Rider University is moderating.  Dworkin proclaimed his liberalness on his facebook page until very recently. He used to be the Assistant Director of Research for NJ Democratic Assembly Office.

Who would have thought that Anna Little would have been within single digits of Frank Pallone 4 weeks before election day?  Who besides me, Mike Laffey, Dwight Kehoe, Bob Gordon, Barbara Gonzalez and Brian Hegarty?  Russ Cote.  Maybe Mickey Gooch too.  He’s got 5-1 odds on Little.

Pallone hasn’t been in a competitive race in 22 years.  He cut his dirty trick budget after the primary, figuring he could cruise to victory and save is $4 million war chest for a U.S. Senate race.  Now he’s resorting to buying everyone pancakes and pleading for help because, in his own words, he “can’t possibly get across the finish line on November 2nd without your continued support.”

“Crazed Sex Poodle” Gore Coming To Rumson For Rush Holt

Former Vice President Al Gore is coming to Rumson next week to stump and raise some cash for CD-12 Congressman Rush Holt.

Gore, who was called a “Crazed Sex Poodle”and a “big lummox” by Portland Oregon massage therapists Molly Hagerty when she accused him of groping her and painfully squeezing her nipples over her clothes during a massage at the Hotel Lucia in 2006, and the congressman who calls himself a Rocket Scientist will be having cocktails with supporters at the opulent mansion of Wall Street tycoon Thomas Unterberg on Sunday October 17, according to an announcement on Holt’s website.

Holt’s campaign  has made an issue out of his opponent Scott Sipprelle’s Wall Street career.  According to The Daily Princetonian, Holt sent an email to supporters bashing Wall Street and claiming he doesn’t “take big checks from them.”

… Holt’s reelection campaign has emphasized Sipprelle’s career on Wall Street. “It’s not news that a Wall Street multimillionaire would give himself a bonus, but it means that he’ll have the resources to try to distort Rush’s record of getting things done for Central New Jersey,” Holt’s campaign manager Sarah Stewart said in an April 16 e-mail to supporters.

“[Holt is] not working for the lobbyists. He’s not fighting to protect big banks and Wall Street. And he doesn’t get big checks from them. He has a broad base of support from real people with shared values,” she said.

Hmmm, the crazed sex poodle and the rocket scientist are coming to a Wall Street tycoon’s mansion not to take checks?

MoreMonmouthMusings surveyed area massage therapists to check on the likelihood of Gore getting a massage should he seek one while he is in the area.

Nicole Lerario, LMT, of A Kneaded Vacation Therapeutic Massage in Red Bank is a member of the Northern Monmouth Chamber of Commerce and the American Massage Therapy Association .  Nicole said she does not massage clients after 8PM in order to avoid confrontations like Hagerty had.  Lerario, who is licensed to practice massage in New York said she would work on any politician, “so that I can talk to them about having massage therapy covered by health insurance and about the importance of licensing massage therapists.”  She said New Jersey does not license massage therapists, but should because, “massage parlors and untrained women advertising body rubs makes life difficult for legitimate therapists.”

Michelle, who advertises in the Asbury Park Press classifieds as “PETITE PLEASURE MASSAGE 24 hrs., In/Out GSP 105”could accommodate the former Vice President after 8PM but “probably wouldn’t,” she told MMM, “When dirty laundry comes out about well known people, it comes out on the other people involved too.  Some people might like that, but I prefer to be more discreet and do my little thing.”

Annie of Fair Haven Therapeutic Massage also advertises in the APP. GRAND OPENING ASIAN STAFF, River Road, is how the ad reads.  There was something of a language barrier between Annie and I.  She wanted to know if Al Gore was the Vice President of Monmouth County, and she wanted to know if I would be coming with him for massagee. I told her I would not be joining Gore and that he was the former Vice President of the United States.  “Ooohhh,” she said, “we would be honored.”   Gore would have to visit Annie’s office, which is just down the road from the Unterberg estate.

as ROSIE LATIN MASSAGE.  She said “No, I am not interested in doing that,” when asked if she would massage Al Gore.

Lorraine advertises ~*~*~ Holistic Massage & Reiki ~*~*~ by Female ~open 7 days on backpage.com.  She told me she would be happy to massage Gore, but that he would have to come to Manalapan and stay fully draped.

From this small sample, I get the distinct feeling that Northern Jersey Shore massage industry is not going to be stimulated by Gore’s visit.

Poor Al.  He’ll have to settle for the Wall Street checks that Holt says he doesn’t accept.

Real Clear Politics: CD-6 A Toss UP!? APP: Pallone Leads By Nearly 2-1

Murray’s Poll Means Different Things To Different People

Real Clear Politics looked at the Monmouth University poll released yesterday and moved the NJ-6 race between Frank Pallone and Anna Little from “Likely Dem” to “Toss Up” . 

Meanwhile, the APP ( All Phoney Palloney?) read Patrick Murray’s poll and wrote a headline claiming that Pallone is leading Little “by nearly 2-1.”   2-1?  Murray said Pallone has a 12% lead.   2-1 would be a 33% lead. 12% is not nearly 33%.

Even my own analysis on Murray’s poll has been bothering me:

Murray classifies a likely voter as someone who has voted in 2 of the last four general elections.  Of the 333,519 registered voters in CD-6, 60,053 voted in 2 of the four last general elections; 23,750 (40%) Democrats, 27,791 (46%) Independents and 8,512 (14%) Republicans, according to GOP records of voter activity.

CD-6 has 333,544 registered voters.  In the last five elections, an average of 157,000 people voted.  The average is 144,000 if you don’t count the 2008 presidential election (254,543 voters) and the 2007 state legislative election(96,950 voters).  Yet, only 60,053 people voted in 2 of the last four elections, the criteria Murray used to select “likely voters.”   Granted, Murray used a different list than I did to measure who voted in 2 of the last 4 elections.  If there is a wide disparity between the two, my analysis of his poll is as flawed as the APP headline.  I think I’ll ask him about his list.

Incidentally, Real Clear Politics also rates the CD-3 race between Jon Runyan and John Adler as a toss up.  RCP rates Scott Sipprelle’s race against Rush Holt as “Leans Dem.”  I find the CD-12 rating hard to believe.  I’m not on the ground in CD-12 as much as I like to be, but I wake up every morning to “I’m Scott Sipprelle and I approved this message.”

A Super Saturday!

This past weekend saw a proud spectacle of American democracy in action throughout the towns of CD-12. Americans of every race, creed, and age group walked door-to-door, handed out literature on sidewalks, made phone calls, and waved signs…all motivated by a sincere and patriotic desire to get America moving again. I am proud to be representing this extraordinary collection of volunteers, most of whom have never worked on a political campaign before. Thank you all, and a special thanks to our amazing group of municipal captains!

11:45am (doors open at 11:15am) at Yvonne Theatre of Rider University. This debate has been moved to a larger venue. Ben Dworkin will moderate.

Monday October 18:

7:30pm (doors open at 6:30pm) at Young Israel of East Brunswick, 193 Dunham’s Corner Road. Eric Scott of 101.5 will moderate.

We will have a limited number of passes to allocate to both events. Otherwise, these are first-come, first served, open to the public events with no tickets.  Please contact our Princeton headquarters if you would like to attend either event. 

No signs, literature, or campaigning inside either venue.
