Mother Jones tapes have a “1-2 minute” gap

Maybe Rose Mary Woods’ grandson is the ultimate source

We know that former President Jimmy Carter’s grandson brokered the deal that provided the tax exempt non-profit news organization Mother Jones the secretly recorded video of Mitt Romney speaking to donors that the media has made such a fuss over for the last 48 hours.

Turns out there is a “one to two minute” gap in the tape.  Maybe the grandson of former President Nixon’s secretary, Rose Mary Woods, was the shooter of the tapes.  For those readers too young to remember Watergate, Woods admitted to “inadvertently” erasing 5 minutes of the 18 1/2 minute gap in the White House audio tapes that lead to Nixon’s resignation in disgrace.

Mother Jones insists that the gap is only 1-2 minutes, but we’ll never really know unless someone else comes forth with another video of the event.

The gap occured just at the end of Romney’s now famous “47%” remark that those who don’t pay taxes will not vote for him.  When the recording resumes, Romney is talking about China.  A transcript of the video before and after the gap can be found here.

  1. Sorry I Am Not On Point Again, But This Administration Is Embarrassing said at 5:48 pm on September 19th, 2012:

But it’s important that this stuff gets around.

It’s bad enough that Obummbler doesn’t pay enough attention to intelligence that could have prevented the Embassy attacks, or allowed our Marines to be armed with real bullets so that they could readily fight back.

It’s bad enough that the President tried to hide the truth about this year’s 9/11 attacks, but this is even more scary…

Apparently there is no discipline among our Secret Service and maybe even White House staff who brought hookers in.

This makes our security details HIGHLY vulnerable to black mail by other country’s spy assets. It’s very “RISKY BUSINESS.”

  2. Bob English said at 9:56 pm on September 19th, 2012:

Talk about poetic justice….Romney criticizes a guy (President Carter) who was elected 36 years ago and than Carters grandson is the one that finds the online video of Romney sharing his thoughts with millionaires.

  3. And What Of Those Two Missing Minutes Bobbie Boy said at 11:16 pm on September 19th, 2012:

You’re always whining about things out of context. How do we know that didn’t happen here.

BTW, we are still waiting for you to apologize for your attacks on Romney for speaking too soon. It looks like Mitt was spot on and The Obummbler was the failure, gee; just like The Peanut Farmer

  4. Bob English said at 12:22 am on September 20th, 2012:

LOL…you are living in an alternate reality making up your own sets of facts….but thats alright, I need a good laugh once in awhile. If you read newspapers, there are pleanty of stories of Republicans criticizing Romney over what he said. Since you probably dont believe in fact checking either, I should not bother to mention that every major fact checking site said Romney was wrong.

Reality is that Romney attacked Obama and said he was sypathizing with the terrorists before Obama even issued a statement on the demonstrations/embasy attack.

Just out of curriosity, what is your time-line/version of events regarding what Romney said???

  5. Bob English said at 12:31 am on September 20th, 2012:

As for any part of that tape that is missing, it would probably be better for Romeny if it does not exist or they dont find it if it does. Its a large enough train wreck for Romeny as is with other R’s candidates even starting to throw Romney off the lifeboat.

Taking something out of context which has been done in Romeny ads and in numerous videos on the net, is when only a small excerpt of someones words are used that distorts the meaning of what they actually said. First Romeny ad of the campaign against Obama was a perfect example.

  6. The Truth Is Lil Bobbie Boy said at 7:54 am on September 20th, 2012:

That YOU are making an “assie” of yourself with your own personal thoughts of what might be missing.

Strange that it cuts off after Mitt mentions 47% and then starts up at a totally different issue. My bet is that what is missing, mitigates Mitts remarks because of the TIMING of the cut off. That smells like editing.

But what’s more important as the followings article hints at what we already know, that the polls are rigged, just like the unemployment numbers

The source told WND that highly confidential internal polls conducted by the Obama campaign indicate Obama cannot win re-election, despite public surveys that show him in the lead.

“The public polls are mostly political,” the source argued. “Obama radicals want Romney supporters to feel discouraged and give up. Truth is that Romney’s winning.

NOW, we truly don’t know if this story is accurate, but from “that page to God’s ears.”

  7. Rick Ambrosia said at 9:12 am on September 20th, 2012:

LOL…anonymous idiot…too funny on that site you listed….all right wing extremist nuts listed as their contributors…first one you see is Jerome Corsi…oh yes…very independent…LOL…what a nutcase.

I’m sure you must think that all the polls are in the tank, but hey, that’s ok seeing as you’re just one fruitcake…

ok, now go ahead…make some disparaging remark about my name…at least, I can use my name, anonymous idiot. You’re waaayyyy too scared to.

  8. No Salad Boy said at 9:35 am on September 20th, 2012:

As I Said, It’s NOT About Who I Am, It’s About CONTENT. You are just looking for a name to disparage a person, because that’s what you are. That’s right out of Saul Alynski’s Rules For Radicals, the politics of personal destruction.

And yes, it’s about driving libs crazy with “who is that person, who is doing this to me?”

    You will NEVER know that.

As to polls in the tank? Almost every media driven poll has been proven to over sample Democrats and under sample Republicans & Independents, using a wrong model of turn out.

The polls in the tank? For sure.

As to the linked story, we’ll see of that story is accurate on the day after election day.

AS I SAID in my post “we don’t know if it’s accurate.” At least I was intellectually honest, which differs from you who is in the tank for the Regime, believing everything you see from the Propagandist Media.

Just like you looking for a name from me, all you want to do is to attack where the article comes from.

You must note that Penny Pritzger is about as high in the Democrap Food Chain as you can get. And if the unnamed source is accurate, well then; it comes from a person right next to The Obummbler.

BTW, why is it right for Dumbos to use unnamed sources, but NOT those on the right. Hypocritical you are. Now, please go and insert your Donkey Hoof back into your mouth.

  9. Obummer Lie After Lie, After Lie said at 11:55 am on September 20th, 2012:

The Obummbler story has been a charade from day one. Moooochelle My Belle lied too at the Democrat National Convention about how hard a life they had. Bull c–p

  10. Rick Ambrosia said at 12:25 pm on September 20th, 2012:

Really anonymous idiot..you have to do much better than a website populated by Fox news…like they’re not going to lie through their teeth…LOL…better luck next time AI.

  11. Salads Have No IQ said at 12:40 pm on September 20th, 2012:

    Hey Dumb Guy,

  13. Well, You Are Finally Right About One Thing Salad Boy said at 4:14 pm on September 20th, 2012:

Noonan is correct, it’s time for Romney to kick Obummbler’s arse. Even a broken clock is correct twice a day

    Other than that,

    a) It’s Obummer & Moochelle that do not like America and the way it was founded.

“First time in my life I am proud for my country, does that ring a bell?

    B) I wouldn’t give a rat’s arse about a MEDIA based poll out of the UK. AS a matter of fact, I trust FEW if any polls right now because of so many reasons.

It’s the polls the week before the election that begin to count when the polling groups need to show credibility rather than try and push poll the public into believing something that is not real by oversampling Dumbo’s and undersampling Republicans and Independents.

    c) WOW, IMHO Pawlenty who was a lightweight anyway and left for a better job.

NOW SEE, that was easy, responding to the comments, rather than mostly laughing at the source?

Maybe you should try some intellectual honesty as well and answer the charges, rather than attack sources and people.

I can slice you and dice you anyway you want, but calling me mental and needing pills only get’s you more of the same.

Be a man, and address the issues without needing a canard to lean on. You do know what that word means don’t you?

  14. Pilgrim said at 4:50 pm on September 20th, 2012:

If you want to talk, or comment, about not paying attention to intelligence, then read (just the first 50 pages) of recently published and released 500 Days: the Bush administration wasn’t even asleep at the wheel because they weren’t even driving the car. Totally dismissed intelligence from MULTIPLE sources.

The Nixon tragic farce was a government/administration cover-up. The time missing from Romney’s fund raising talk wasn’t an edit because it was never recorded, so it can’t be missing. There are no edits in what he said. By his own adminision he said it, otherwise he would not have held a press conference to try to spin what he said, what was recorded and what was released to the public. This isn’t the swift-boating that happened to Kerry; this is Mittens sticking-it to himself — or if you like committing swiftboaticide. Mittens makes ‘Who-Did-It-And-Ran’ look competent and polished.

  15. We're Talking About NOW Pilgrim said at 4:58 pm on September 20th, 2012:

YOU are trying to distract from the present intelligence failure of The Obummbler.

Besides, you full well know of the wall Clinton’s administration built. There was no way to connect the dots, other than you connecting the dots to the lunacy of the left.

And BTW, quit stealing John Wayne’s line “Pilgrim,” you are unworthy of such greatness.

  16. Pilgrim said at 5:08 pm on September 20th, 2012:

What happened to the Republican mantra of ACCOUNTABILITY for words and actions and not blaming someone else — all of this finger pointing in other directions and making excuses for Mittens is childish whining. Making indirect, and direct, excuses for the Republican Party’s selection for President, your candidate Romney, cannot change what he said and what he meant.

Romney reminds me of Steve Martin’s character in the movie Scoundrels, when he sticks a fork in his eye at the diner table. Except Steve Martin has a cork on the end of his fork. Romney just had the naked fork. Romney is the Chief in a modern version of the Keystone Cops, only his movie isn’t silent.

  17. Pilgrim said at 5:39 pm on September 20th, 2012:

What We Are Talking About Now Pilgrim,

What Clinton “wall” are you talking about? The very fact that you mention a fictious Clinton wall is a distraction from the topic.

Is the topic intelligence failures, or is it the failure to intelligently use the intelligence provided by professionals? If it is the latter then the Bush administration is guilty and it cost our country a lot of lives and a lot of money. If it is the former then Bush is guilty and so is Romney when it comes to failed intelligence as in the application of intellectual capacity.

The dots were connected before 911 and after 911 by independent parties and commissions — think former NJ govenor Kean. The only party that failed to connect the intelligence dots, or better yet ignored the dots, was C. Rice and George Bush and his administration. Like I said read 500 Days, just the first 50 pages. You don’t even have to buy it, just stand in a book store and read the first 50 pages — should only take you about three hours.

  18. The Pilgrim Is Lost Again said at 8:27 pm on September 20th, 2012:

Ah, That Would Be The Jamie Gorelick Wall, Solidified During The Clinton Administration

BEFORE you attack something, you better know what you are talking about.

  19. Gloria said at 3:25 am on September 27th, 2012:

To the Pilgrim is lost again: The below paragraph was the last paragraph in the article in the LA Times in 2004. You should heed your own words, BEFORE you attack, know what you are talking about. The Reno mentioned in first sentence is Janet Reno former Attorney General appointed by Bill Clinton. Reno went after the wall in 1995 after the Oklahoma City terrorist bombing.

The staff noted that as early as 1995, Reno instituted procedures aimed at forcing those various agencies to share more information — particularly if intelligence-gathering efforts uncovered evidence that a significant federal crime “has been, is being, or may be committed.”
