LITTLE: CONGRESSIONAL INACTION ON TAX RATES IS IRRESPONSIBLE

little-for-congress-header1

HIGHLANDS, September 28) – Republican congressional challenger Anna Little – responding to further news reports indicating that Congress will likely recess without first holding a vote on whether or not to extend the current tax rates – today urged voters in New Jersey’s 6th Congressional District to hold her opponent, 22-year liberal incumbent Frank Pallone, accountable.

“Congress is being run by an irresponsible majority right now,” said Little. “There’s just no other way to say it. And Frank Pallone is a huge part of the problem.

“This year, for the first time since the Budget Act was passed in 1974, Congress didn’t even pass a budget,” continued Little. “And now, it appears the liberals who run the Congress are planning to go home to campaign before they pass a bill to extend the current tax rates.”

“If they don’t pass a bill to extend the current tax rates, New Year’s Day is going to bring with it the biggest tax hike in American history – all because the liberals who run the Congress are more concerned with keeping their own jobs than they are with helping their constituents create jobs for themselves and their communities.”

“I cannot think of anything that would be more irresponsible,” said Little. “Yet, shockingly, that appears to be precisely what they’re going to do.”

“The ability to hold our elected leaders accountable with regularly scheduled elections is one of the hallmarks of American democracy,” Little continued. “But that only works if our elected leaders actually vote BEFORE the elections on crucial issues. By waiting until after the election to engage in significant legislative action, our elected leaders are in essence hiding from the public. That’s just wrong, and it’s just one more reason we need to change Washington.”

“But the simple fact is, you cannot change Washington without changing the people in Washington.”

“The good news is, there’s an election in 35 days. And then the people will have a chance to make their voice heard!”

Jersey Shore Tea Party Files Suit Against ObamaCare

HEALTH CARE LAWSUIT FILED PRO SE

The Jersey Shore Tea Party in conjunction with Ocean County Citizens For Freedom (a Tea Party Group), the Colts Neck Tea Party and several individuals have filed a 15 count lawsuit IN NJ Federal Court against ObamaCare. (suit attached)

The suit names Kathleen Sebelius US Dept of Health and Human Services, Timothy Geithner, US Dept. of the Treasury and Hilda Solis, US Dept of Labor as Plaintiffs and was filed by plaintiffs Nicholas E. Purpura and Donald R Laster Jr pro se. They are Jersey Shore Tea Party members.

The lawsuit includes several counts already approved in Federal Court and adds numerous other charges.  This consortium of individuals and groups marks a milestone in the New Jersey Tea Party Movement.  New Jersey is a hot bed of Tea Party activity and this lawsuit is in line with those efforts to secure the Republic from leftist radical elements that have seized the executive and legislative branches of our government.  The overt debasement and circumventing of our Constitution cannot be permitted to proceed unchallenged.

To add your voice and your name to the filing please go to jerseyshoreteaparty.org.

Scott’s “Trail Mix” for September 28

sipprelle-large-banner-paid-for4

There is something different and uplifting in the air. I can sense it in the conversations I am having on the trail. I can see it when folks who might have once just walked by without stopping are now pausing to listen and to talk. Something momentous is happening. We have arrived at a turning point, a resetting of our values as Americans. Citizens are in the process of reclaiming their ownership of government, and I am pleased to be a part of this unique piece of history.

Debates!

Thanks, in part, to your pressure, we have been able to confirm a schedule of two debates with Mr. Holt. The first will be on October 14 at midday at Rider University and the second will be on October 18 in the evening in East Brunswick. The first event will only have tickets available for an overflow room with TV monitor. The second debate will have a large amount of public seating. Stand by for details.

Super Saturday

This coming Saturday, October 2, will represent one month until Election Day. This will be the moment when I will be asking each of you to recommit, with a heightened intensity, to support our campaign to Make America Work Again. Each one of our municipal captains in the 44 towns of CD-12 will be organizing special events to reach out to voters. Please check the “Events” tab on our web site this week to find a nearby event where you can lend a hand for an hour or two. Please help show the strength and breadth of our campaign to renew the American Dream.

Can You Help on Election Day?

If you can volunteer your time on Election Day, please contact our headquarters. We are recruiting official “Challengers” to watch polls, and no previous experience is required. We will also be running large Get-Out-the-Vote and canvassing operations and would like to have as many volunteers as possible. Don’t miss your chance to play a vital role in electoral history!

I Reject Mr. Holt’s Politics of Deception

My opponent has, unsurprisingly, stooped to a new low. In a desperate attempt to deflect the focus from his voting record, he is now trying to scare seniors into believing that I am intent on destroying their Social Security benefits. Last week at a seniors meeting, supported by a local mayor and an imported Congresswoman, my opponent railed against me and manufactured a brand new claim that I wanted to “Privatize Social Security.” This is an amazingly cheeky statement from a politician who supported: 1) a healthcare bill that cut $500 billion from Medicare and, 2) presided over the systematic looting of the Social Security Trust Fund. The famous “lock-box,” intended to safeguard the retirement security of seniors was cracked open by Congress and the money spent. What now stands in its place is a simple IOU from a desperately deficit-ridden government.

The Heat is On; the Choice is Clear!

My opponent will spend $125,000 this week (!) on TV advertisements. These negative attacks are largely financed by PACs and special interests that will require payback in next year’s budget cycle. Is there any more powerful argument for joining our cause?

Thank you for your continued demonstration of passion and purpose in our campaign for America’s future.

Transformative Leadership Vs The Status Quo

By Art Gallagher

During a conference call with the media after taping the Oprah show on Friday Newark Mayor Cory Booker, Governor Chris Christie and facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg each committed themselves  to transforming Newark’s school system into and symblol of educational excellence that will become an example for the rest of the country.

Booker declared, “Failure is no longer an option,” for Newark’s school children.   He pledged that he was putting everything on the line, including his career, to create a school system based on accountability and results that will give Newark’s children a educational foundation for success.

Christie said that he was committed to each child in Newark receiving a world class education and that the current results of the Newark school system are unacceptable.  He said the three men came together,” because of our belief that education is a civil right and our absolute commitment to each other that we are going overcome whatever obstacles get put in our path to be able to provide a better and brighter day for the children for the City of Newark and hopefully by example, for children who are being failed  by their school systems across America.”

Zuckerberg said he was interested in shining “a really bright spotlight on Newark, to make it an educational hotspot for education across the nation that people can look to see what is possilble.”

The initial response from New Jersey’s political and educational establishments has been petty and cynical. From Assembly Speaker Sheila Oliver to Education Law Center’s David Sciarra to Newark Teachers Union President Joseph Del Grasso to Senator Richard Codey, the defenders of the status quo reveal their self interest and that of their constituencies to continue to profit from a failed system that costs New Jersey residents obscene amounts of money and costs Newark’s children their future.

The Republican establishment is complicit with the defenders of the status quo by their silence.  Since Christie’s inauguration in January my inbox has been filled with press releases from Republican leaders voicing their support of each of the Governor’s bold initiatives.  Since word of this initiative leaked out last week….nothing.

The biggest obstacle that Booker and Christie will face in transforming Newark’s school system is cynical resignation. Things in Newark have been so bad for so long that we really believe nothing will make a difference.  That is why nothing does.

If you live in New Jersey the condidtion of Newark and its school system impacts your life, past, present and future.  Suburan bliss may numb the pain, except on the days your property taxes are due.

If Booker, Christie and Zuckerberg fail in their project to transform Newark’s schools, we all fail.
