Open Letter to Anthony- A mainstream Republican

By Dwight Kehoe, Co-Chair Bayshore Tea Party. Cross-posted at Bayshore Tea Party’s Blog

As most of you know we have been working hard to get Pallone and Holt fired. Last week I sent a Tea Party related email to Anthony in error. I believe it was concerning today’s Long Branch parade. Somehow his email ended up in my outgoing address book after he was notified about a Scott Sipprelle event.

So the following day I got a very smug message requesting I remove his email because, first of all, he is not in Pallone’s district and second of all, he is a “Mainstream Republican” and has nothing to do with tea parties.Austin

Of course, I gladly deleted his useless email, but as many of you know I am not likely to allow anyone to take an un-responsed swipe at our Tea Party movement.

After apologizing for sending him the first email, I included this non-apology.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The following paragraphs are political in nature and if you do not wish to be further informed, please stop reading now and send this email to trash or junk. If you read further, it’s your choice. And remember, this is a one time letter to you which has been induced by the subtle message embedded in your brief but curt comment.
First I would like to tell you what I have told many Senators and Congressmen all over this country. That is, the days of allowing Federal elected officials to hide from the American people and not be required to answer for their actions, because they are “not in my district or state” are over. It matters not what state or district they serve. Any and every bill or law they enact or vote for impacts everyone in this country. And, everyone in the country, that pays taxes, pays their salaries and expenses. Each and every one of them need to answer to each and every one of us.
It is the duty of all Americans, to work against anyone that is involved in destroying this country, regardless of where they live. The sooner everyone understands that and begins to act on that, the sooner we will be able to get and keep the scoundrels out of Washington and our Statehouses.
Like you I am a Republican. Life long. So why am I now in the leadership of the largest and most successful Tea Party in NJ? Is it because I want to see the Republican Party weakened or destroyed? Is it that I want to see a 3rd party or some other nonsense? The answer to those questions is a resounding no.
I am Tea Party because I fear where my Republican Party has gone. I fear that the GOP has become Dem-lite and it has, over many years, become too settled into a 2nd class position behind the masters of the liberal machine here in NJ and the country. I too am to blame, I spent 60 years of my life sitting back and not paying attention, believing in the false hope that our elected politicians would do the right thing. I was wrong, and my children and theirs will ultimately pay for that apathetic-misconception.
The following is a message we have composed to the youth of our country. This and everything else we stand for can be found on our website, to which I will not post a link here.
We are sorry! We have let you down. During the past 40 years, some of us even longer, we have failed to protect for you, the beautiful country our parents forged for us.
We took it all for granted. As we enjoyed the glorious gifts of prosperity and freedoms that our forefathers suffered and died to provide for us, and we foolishly failed to guard them for you . For this we are profoundly sorry.
Along with this apology comes an equally profound promise, to you, our beloved children.
We the people of the Tea Party movement have awakened and will fail you no more. We will fight to protect what’s left of our glorious America and not stop the struggle to regain what we have let slip away.
Anthony, this is why I am Tea Party. This is why the Republican Party has nothing to fear from our movement. Our movement will save the Grand Old Party as we save our country. We will, from this election cycle and for as many years as it takes, use every tool at our command to work with the GOP to select the best, constitutional, conservative people available during the primary season and will never, ever allow a liberal Republican to walk into a general election without a battle. Those days are gone.
We will never again allow the leaders of our Republican Party to hand a victory to the left in this country before taking the first snap from center.
So in closing, you and many other “mainstream” Republicans may feel like you are not part of the “Tea Party” movement. But we are a part of you and we are gong to bring our party back to it’s roots and values. We have taken, I’m sure you have noticed, several very large steps to date. You can join us in this effort or be left behind. We will not relent. We have promised our children and pledged allegiance to our Flag.
I don’t know if you have read this far. I took some very import time to write this to you, so I hope you have. Either way, this message will be learned and understood by all in the coming years.
We will save this country for you and posterity, with or without the help of “Mainstream” Republicans..
God Bless you and your family Anthony.
With warm regards,
Dwight Kehoe
THE TRUTH ABOUT OBAMA, ISLAMIST JIHAD, AND ISRAEL
By Theodore Price, Phd
01.I’m an elderly Combat Infantryman of World War II, who served under Patton in 1945 in the Ruhr and Czechoslovakia. My division helped liberate one of the Holocaust death camps.
02.I’m a retired New Jersey college English professor. My area of specialized expertise is recurrent themes in literature, drama, and film: Shakespeare, Ibsen, Fellini, and Hitchcock.  I have a flair for spotting key elements that pluck the heart out of a mystery that investigators often miss.
03.Some of my studies relate to politics and revolution.  For example, on the classic film The Battle of Algiers, that is all about the current subject of suicide bombers and recruitment of Islamist guerrillas against the West, as in Afghanistan.
 04.I presently have come across a startling study by an eminent (very eminent) Holocaust and Jihadist scholar that relates absolutely to the current controversies about the Mosque at Ground Zero, Koran desecration, whether Muslimism is a religion of peace or war, and the jihadist call for the destruction of Israel and Israeli Jews.
05.Since the work and conclusions of this scholar (whose book was published early in 2010) seem to have been missed in current media discussions, I’d like to bring this to your attention here so that this discovery might be transmitted to New Jersey and America’s Jews, who’ve been supporting Barack Obama almost 80%, second only to his Black voter support of more than 90%.
06.Some of the other names I’ll be dropping in support of my and this scholar’s conclusions are former Mayor Ed Koch, Harvard law professor Alan Dershowitz, Commentary editor Norman Podhoretz, and First Amendment enthusiast Nat Hentoff.  Like myself and the scholar, they are all octogenarians.  So a case might be made: Don’t Trust Anyone Under 80.
07.And, also like myself, they are all Jews.  For as the famous feminist Phyllis Chesler points out (and as even Larry Summers must agree): ANTI-ZIONISM (especially among the Left in general and among the Left faculty in higher education in particular) IS THE NEW ANTI-SEMITISM.    (Louis Farrakhan is an Obama supporter. David Duke is a stalwart anti-Zionist.)
 07a.Let me repeat: ANTI-ZIONISM IS THE NEW ANTI-SEMITISM.
 08.The eminent scholar is Richard Rubenstein (Harvard Ph.D., Yale fellow, and named by Florida State University the Distinguished Professor of the Year).  His book is Jihad and Genocide.
 09.His message, in distinct, concise form (about 6 minutes) is in this video: Play it and replay it.  Copy it and send it to your friends, especially to your Jewish friends, most especially to your Jewish friends who’ll be voting in the midterm election this November.
10.The title of the video is  IS OBAMA TRYING TO DESTROY ISRAEL?
http://charlestonteaparty.org/index.php?s=rubinstein
11.In this video Dr.Rubenstein (a) refers to Obama as a “menace”; (b) points out that advisors to President Truman in 1948 (State Department heads Gen.Marshall and Dean Acheson) strongly advised Truman not to vote in the U.N. for Israel as a state, and that “it is Obama’s intention to correct the historical mistake of the creation of the state of Israel”; (c) that Obama due to his family heritage is extremely pro-Muslim to the point of “wanting to see the destruction of Israel”; (d) that Obama’s family has a distinct Muslim orientation: both his father and stepfather were Muslims, his sister and brother are Muslims, and Obama was born a Muslim; (e) that Obama is anti-Western Europe, especially England, who   on moving into the White House immediately sent back to England the bust of Winston Churchill that had been given us; (e) that he symbolically bowed to the Saudi Arab leader on greeting him; (f) and that he is for a nuclear freeze, thereby depriving tiny Israel of its effective weapon against Arab and Iranian military.
12.Rubenstein (like myself) is a specialist in psycho-analysis, having written a psycho-analytic study of St.Paul. (My study of Alfred Hitchcock is a psycho-analytic interpretation of Hitchcock’s films.) So, at least to me, the most telling about Obama’s Muslim heritage, was his notorious slip of the tongue when during an interview and asked what his religion was, he pre-consciously answered: Muslim.
13.We should note that the only time most American Jews voted for the Republican presidential ticket was in 1980 against Jimmy Carter because of Carter’s  anti-Israel stand, as is Carter’s position today.
14. Scandalous, say I: In 2008 Jews voted 78% for Obama.  Only Blacks voted more strongly for Obama.
15.Even fellow octogenarian Mayor Ed Koch voted for Obama (indeed campaigned for him.)  Even Jewish ultra-pro-Israelite Harvard professor Alan Dershowitz voted for him!  (Dershowitz said that he knew Obama as a law student of his and liked him.)
16.But, like indeed many 2008 voters for Obama — Democrats, Independents, Jewish and non-Jewish alike — have started to change their minds.  Recent polls show that among Jewish voters backing Obama 78% have gone down to 42%.
17.When Ed Koch saw earlier this year Obama’s treatment of Netanyahu, he called it “outrageous” and felt that Obama is “willing to throw Israel under the bus to please the Muslim nations.  I believe that honestly.”  (See Koch video below.)
18.I hardly think that Dershowitz too would vote for Obama again. (Recently, Dershowitz threw his support for a Republican because of that Republican’s strong pro-Israel stand against his Democratic rival’s weak stand. Dershowitz recently: “Israel is here to stay. Obama may not be here to stay.”
19.Nat Hentoff (with whom I studied long ago in Boston), and a heretofore ultra-Liberal except for his anti-abortion stand, has denounced Obama in the strongest/strongest terms: Obama is possibly the most dangerous and destructive president we have ever had.”
 20.Here’s that anti-Obama Ed Koch video: It’s only about 8 minutes.  You’d do well to see and hear it in Koch’s own on-camera voice:
 http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/04/01/koch-outraged-obamas-treatment-israel-housing-construction/
21.Earlier this month, from the Daily News: The threat of radical, extremist Islam will last at least a generation, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair warned Sunday.“If these people could have killed 30,000 or 300,000 [on 9/11], they would have.” Blair compared Islamic fundamentalism with revolutionary communism.“It’s the religious or cultural equivalent of it, and its roots are deep, its tentacles are long and its narrative about Islam stretches far further than we think,” he said. Blair’s comments, less than a week before the ninth anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks, echoed some of the fears voiced by opponents of building a mosque two blocks north of the Trade Center site.
21a. Blair has warned that radical Islam is the greatest threat that the world is facing today. According to him, radical Islamists believe that whatever is done in the name of their cause, including the use of chemical, biological or nuclear weapons, is justified.
22.The following video by Alan Dershowitz is long, over an hour.  But Dershowitz is a great speaker, dedicated to fairness to Israel; and he covers just about the whole political picture, especially likening Obama’s current view to Neville Chamberlain’s appeasement policy toward Hitler in the 30s.
                                           http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FQNx19U8OoM
23.Dr.Rubenstein has a long article on why he wrote his Jihad and Genocide book. When the first plane struck the first tower on 9/11, most people thought this was probably an accident. It wasn’t until the second plane hit the second tower that it was realized that this 9/11 strike was no accident. I used to show my students a brilliant CBS documentary showing George Bush’s Chief of Staff, Andrew Card, whispering into Bush’s ear, at the strike of the second plane, that we were being attacked. (The documentary is generally not shown because, as I suspect, it shows Pres. Bush (a) in danger at the time, commander in chief, and (b) fully in command and not Dick Cheney at all. (Cheney at the time was in Washington, Bush in Florida, Cheney being picked up bodily by the Secret Service and carried to a shelter.)
 24.Rubenstein says that when the first plane hit the first tower, he “immediately” knew we were being attacked, by Islamists, because of his background in Jihadist Islamic studies.
25.For the record, here are some excerpts from the long article since the book and article are hard to come by
26.”As is evident from much of the material in this book, there is more than a little affinity between National Socialism and Islamic extremism. As partners in World War II, both sought the utter destruction of the Jewish people, a project Islamists have never abandoned.”
 27.”Islamist enmity toward the infidel West, such as was manifest on 9/11, is not a consequence of a small, unrepresentative group ‘hijacking’ a religion whose ‘teachings are good and peaceful.’ On the contrary, “the kind of Islamist hostility that drove Islamist terrorists to act on 9/11 and all too many other occasions is deeply rooted in centuries.”
28.”Unfortunately, neither I nor the overwhelming majority of Harvard students of the period had the slightest inkling of the writings of such Islamist thinkers as Hassan al-Banna (1906-1949), Sayyid Qutb (1906-1966) and Syed Abul A’ala Maududi (1903-1979). Uncompromising enemies of Western civilization, their quest for universal Muslim domination shaped the worldview of the perpetrators of 9/11 and may affect the lives and destiny of every man, woman, and child in the twenty-first century.”
 29.”Ten days after 9/11, President George W. Bush addressed a joint session of the United States Congress in which he sought to make a distinction between the perpetrators of 9/11 and the peace-loving Islamic mainstream. The president declared: ‘I also want to speak tonight directly to Muslims throughout the world. We respect your faith… Its teachings are good and peaceful. And those who commit evil in the name of Allah blaspheme the name of Allah. The terrorists are traitors to their own faith, trying in effect to hijack Islam itself.'”
30.”In retrospect one can ask whether his statements or the somewhat similar sentiments expressed by President Barack Obama in Cairo on June 4, 2009 were accurate.  In reality, Islamist enmity toward the infidel West, such as was manifest on 9/11, is not a consequence of a small, unrepresentative group ‘hijacking’ a religion whose ‘teachings are good and peaceful.’ On the contrary, the kind of Islamist hostility that drove Islamist terrorists to act on 9/11 and all too many other occasions is deeply rooted in centuries of Islamic tradition.”
31.Rubenstein goes on, The fatal flaw of those who seek a two-state solution while downplaying the Roadmap lies in the fact that a critical mass of Muslims define the struggle against Israel as a defensive jihad against the infidels who raid the abode of Islam. Put differently, such Muslims believe they are under an unconditional religious obligation to expel the Jews who, they believe, have forcibly taken possession of a portion of the abode of Islam. Moreover, there have always been influential opinion makers and government leaders in the United States and Europe for whom the establishment of the State of Israel was an historic mistake and who would welcome Israel’s demise as the real solution to the problems of peace and stability in the Middle East.”
32.”
Diplomats and political leaders usually express their views with a measure of finesse, but not always. For example, speaking to an audience in Alexandria, Egypt in May 2004, Michel Rocard, France’s Socialist Prime Minister from 1988 to 1991, called the establishment of Israel ‘an historic mistake’
Similarly, shortly after 9/11, the late Daniel Barnard, Ambassador of France to the United Kingdom, declared at a private London gathering, that the current troubles in the world were all because of ‘that shitty little country Israel.'”
33.”We see this in the Covenant of the Islamic Resistance Movement, known by its acronym HAMAS, a document all too often ignored by political leaders  The Covenant clearly and unambiguously states that Hamas’s long-term objective, the destruction of the State of Israel and the extermination of its people, is grounded in an unconditional religious imperative regarded as binding on all Muslims.”
34.”If the Holocaust has any meaning for Jews it is that they must believe those who promise to destroy them especially when they actively seek, as does Iran, the weapons with which to do so. They at least are telling the truth and intend to keep their promise if they can.”
35.Rubenstein concludes, “Having spent most of my career writing and teaching about the Holocaust, I now find myself once again confronted by sworn enemies of the United States and Israel who have promised to exterminate my people. With knowledge gained over many decades, I feel I have no option but to take these people at their word.”
36.”That is why I have written this book.”
Since I’m not collecting rent and since the sign is still on my property , I figured I’d put it to good use.
This could be fun…if someone wants to make an issue of it.
ARE THE UNIONS THE “WIZARDS BEHIND THE CURTAIN” FOR THE NEPTUNE DEMOCRATS?
Just like the famous movie, the “Wizard Of Oz,” one has to look past the curtain in order to see the real story. I had that in mind the other day when I spoke to a voter regarding my opponents website and campaign literature.
I first thought that they were “wizards” trying to hide behind the curtain until the election is over. I said this because their website and literature are devoid of any issues or platform. It’s as if they were trying to “hide behind the curtain” until Election Day is over because of their liberal “tax & spend” positions, which aren’t selling across America.
But I came to find out who the REAL “wizard behind the curtain” really is. You see, NJ Election Funding Reports became available the other day, and that’s where you will find out who is behind the curtain trying to pull all of the levers. Facts are powerful messengers.
The NJ Election Report records show that one of my opponents, Eric Houghtaling is receiving large amounts of Labor Union cash for his campaign war chest. At least 80% of his campaign funding, currently $5,500, is from Labor Union donations to his campaign. And there’s still 20+ days left in the campaign. That’s a large “purchase” of a candidate my friends, but I wonder, are there more barrels of cash to come?
Now, here’s the bigger problem about Eric’s union ties. According to the IBEW400 website Eric is the Political Director of his electrical workers union, so this is sounding like Neptune’s own version of the Louisiana Purchase and Cornhusker Kickback; with the union trying to influence what goes on in Neptune. I have no problem with labor unions as an organization; my problem lies with Union’s attempting to sway political election outcomes.
Are Unions the “Great & Powerful Oz?”
Or, is this for “street money” to help re-elect Frank Pallone? We’ve seen what unions do to help turn out the vote for the Democrats. We don’t know though, because even at this late date, Eric shows no expenses for his campaign.  Now that’s strange, what else is Eric hiding behind the curtain?
What we DO know is that we’ve seen what the Unions did in the 2008 election in order to help elect Obama. We also saw the unions out in great force at the Town Hall meeting across America, trying to drown out our voices. We also know that the Service Employees International and other unions held great sway over the formation of the disaster called Health Care Reform. Taxpayers suffered because of their over reaching influence.
The implications of a Union “purchase” of a Township Committee seat here in Neptune becomes even scarier because, like the Health Care bill, we won’t know what’s in Eric’s “bills” until and if he wins a seat, because he won’t say what he’s for..
Think, Is this what WE want in Neptune?
Elections have consequences and we’ve seen the consequences of the 2008 election. The lack of a platform & the barrels full of union cash must concern you, the voter.
We should be electing people with platforms and plans, not people to put what they are for on paper or can be bought by large donations. My campaign website, www.neptune2010.com does just that, where I actually talk about positions and issues.
You can do something about this. I have established a special election fund in order to defeat the Union Influence in Neptune. You can go to our website and make an online donation to tell the Unions that we don’t want them influencing Neptune from the Township Committee dias.  If everyone reading this article donates just $25 to fight the Big Unions, it will send a powerful message. Actually, no donation is too small.
Even if you aren’t from Neptune, a donation will help defeat Frank Pallone by helping my campaign turn out more voters for our column. I’m not hiding behind a curtain. I can’t be bought off by large donations because most of mine are small donations from families like yours. Tell the Unions to “go home.”
Neptune Township Committee
Remember Chris Daggett?
He ran for Governor last year as an Independent.  MoreMonmouthMusings broke the story that the Democrats paid for robo calls for Daggett in the closing days of the 2009 campaign.  Shameless and desperate, the Dems kept making those calls even after it was all over the news that they were paying for them and after Daggett himself condemned them for doing so.
There are plenty of signs that the Democrats are equally shameless and desperate this year as the GOP is poised to take control of the New Jersey Congressional delegation with victories in the 3rd, 6th and 12th districts.
In the 3rd district, the press has finally confirmed what everybody knew.  The Democrats put a 3rd party “Tea Party” candidate on the ballot to syphon votes away from Republican Jon Runyan in order to help freshman Democratic Congressman John Adler retain his seat in a traditionally Republican district.
The biggest indicator that Scott Sipprelle is winning in the 12th district is that Rush Holt has agreed to debates.  Holt doesn’t even like to take live questions from his constituents.  Rush is probably taking comfort from the fact that liberal Ben Dworkin of Rider University is moderating.  Dworkin proclaimed his liberalness on his facebook page until very recently. He used to be the Assistant Director of Research for NJ Democratic Assembly Office.
Who would have thought that Anna Little would have been within single digits of Frank Pallone 4 weeks before election day?  Who besides me, Mike Laffey, Dwight Kehoe, Bob Gordon, Barbara Gonzalez and Brian Hegarty?  Russ Cote.  Maybe Mickey Gooch too.  He’s got 5-1 odds on Little.
Pallone hasn’t been in a competitive race in 22 years.  He cut his dirty trick budget after the primary, figuring he could cruise to victory and save is $4 million war chest for a U.S. Senate race.  Now he’s resorting to buying everyone pancakes and pleading for help because, in his own words, he “can’t possibly get across the finish line on November 2nd without your continued support.”
Anna Little On The Issues
While this video may be long for some, Millennium Radio’s Janet Fried did a great job asking Anna Little about the issues concerning the voters of New Jersey’s 6th congressional district.  As is always the case, Little answered forthrightly and with a smile.
Bookmark this video to show to your friends and family who have questions about Little’s positions and the misinformation that Phoney Palloney is disseminating about Little, especially with regard to the environment.
Patrick Murray Responds
Patrick Murray said at 8:10 pm on October 8th, 2010:
The problem with the so-called math error is that you are using unweighted sample sizes (which pollsters use to estimate error) to back into the horse race numbers, rather than using the weighted adjustments to the subgroups upon which our final numbers are based. You can find those weighted adjustment in our methodology statement (which Art originally did, but Bill didn’t). The difference between what unweighted and weighted “n sizes” is something that every pollster DOES learn in polling school. And since we adhere to principles of full disclosure, we give both the unweighted and weighted information. Unfortunately, it is lack of public knowledge about polling principles that lead many other pollsters to withhold disclosure, so they can avoid uninformed critiques. We at Monmouth believe that all our data should be out there. Art’s original criticism of our voter turnout model is a fair one, since no one knows what Nov. 2’s electorate will look like and I responded to that by re-running our numbers using his assumptions and providing that data. This criticism, however, is just plain wrong.
Editors note:  I’m relieved to hear a credible explanation from Patrick.  While I will lose no sleep derailing the careers of Frank Pallone, Rush Holt and John D’Amico, MMM means Patrick Murray no harm.
I sat on the math discrepancy story most of the day waiting for Patrick to call.  I sought out expert advise that was not available.  Next time I’ll wait longer. ~ Art
“Patrick Murray needs to go back to school”
~ Governor Chris Christie on NJ101.5’s Ask the Governor, September 29, 2010
Monmouth University’s CD-6 poll has math errors!
By Art Gallagher
Turns out that Governor Christie was right about Patrick. Not just because Murray polled non-voters in his approval poll of the governor. Murray’s math is wrong in the CD-6 poll he released on Tuesday.
As much as I have enjoyed the kudos I have received since Murray said he revised his numbers based on upon my assumptions, I don’t fully deserve them. I challenged Murray’s assumptions about the demographics of the district. It never occurred to me to check his arithmetic.
Fortunately, it did occur to an MMM reader, Bill Wolstromer of Colts Neck.
Refer to Murray’s numbers on page 2 of his press release.
Compare Murray’s math to Wolstromer’s email to Murray:
Mr Murray,
I have a number of questions about this poll, starting with the numbers not adding up.  If you simply multiply the responses for each group by their candidate preference, the result is Pallone-51.2%, Little-42.5%, Undecided-6.3%, a margin of 8.7% NOT 12%.  Additionally, if the Undecided voters break according to their party affiliation, the gap narrows to 8.4%.  Have you tricked the numbers to show Republicans and independents being less likely to vote than Democrats?  Highly unlikely in this environment
Bill Wolstromer
Doing the math, Murray’s original poll release should have announced a 9% margin between Frank Pallone and Anna Little. Not the 12% margin that was announced.  That’s a 25% difference.
Murray has yet to respond to Wolstromer’s email, or to my phone call this morning seeking comment or clarification.
Murrary owes an explanation to the media and the people of New Jersey who have come to rely upon him as a credible pollster.
