Can Buono make a race of it?
Last month Monmouth Democratic Chairman Vin Gopal went on NJTV to make the case that Governor Chris Christie is leading the in the polls so strongly because of how he has handled the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy and because the presumed Democratic nominee for governor, State Senator Barbara Buono is largely unknown.Canada
In the month since Gopal’s interview, Buono’s name recognition has ticked up only 4 points. Only 20% of the electorate know enough about her to form an opinion. Of that 20%, only half have a favorable opinion of her, according to the Quinnipiac Poll. Despite extensive free media granted Buono by New Jersey’s three largest newspapers, Christie has high favorable ratings even among registered Democrats.

I wonder who has less name recognition buckle up Babs or I never won any race Vin ….
anything can happen, and remember, a majority of people would really rather vote D . The Dems will still get plenty of union and media endorsements, money, and grunt, grassroots work. Predicting it all stays the same at the end of it all.
@it’s blue jersey: are you kidding??? Christie is getting endorsements from unions, hispanic associations, even democrat mayors. Buono had a meeting at Princeton U with area democrats and two people showed up. The only press Buono has gotten in the last three months was for getting a ticket for not wearing a seat belt. Christie is polling astronomically with every group including Democrats. Yeah, Buono’s poised to make it a tight race. Hardy har har.
when Nov. is light years away. Go ahead, act over-confident: how many races have you been in and watched dwindle down, through over-confidence? We hope to see at least enough coat-tails to obtain a majority in one house, at least, for a change. Even a rollicking big plurality for Gov. Chris means little for this state, if it’s only about him, moving forward. If one acts like it’s close, one usually does even better, and arrogance is never pretty.
