Arnone and DiMaso are Right Choice for Monmouth County

Freeholder Gary Rich, Sr.

With all the vitriol surrounding this year’s Presidential election, it would be easy for voters to believe that the disfunction of Washington extends down to all levels of government. Fortunately for the residents of Monmouth County, that assumption couldn’t be further from accurate.

Over the last several years,  the all-Republican Freeholder Board in Monmouth County has delivered year after year of the highest caliber of government services, while maintaining the utmost attention to fiscal responsibility. It is no coincidence that Monmouth County is one of only 33 counties in the country to hold a AAA bond rating from all three rating agencies, a distinction we have now held for 18 years in a row. From 2012 through 2014, the current Freeholder Board held the County tax levy flat while simultaneously cutting millions of dollars in operating costs from the County budget.

The endorsement letter noted that DiMaso is following in her family history as a first responder as a member of the Holmdel First Aid Squad. “Her administrative and front line experience gives Serena great perspective as an advocate for Shared Services in Monmouth County,” Dermaso said.

Freehold, NJ- The Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #30, Monmouth County Superior Officers’ Association supports the reelection of Freeholders Tom Arnone and Serena DiMaso, announced the association’s president, Shawn Reece.

“Public Safety is one of the most important functions of county government,” Reece said. “Freeholder Director Tom Arnone and Serena DiMaso have always recognized that truth and have made sure that our members have the support, training and resources we need to keep Monmouth County a safe and secure place to live and raise our families.”

Freeholder DiMaso is the daughter of a New York City Police Officer and her sister is a NYPD Captain.  As a member of the Holmdel First Aid Squad, DiMaso is a first responder herself—on call 24/7—to save the lives of those facing medical emergencies.  Our work in law enforcement, the sacrifices we make and the risks we take, is not theoretical for Serena and that shows in how she conducts herself as a leader of Monmouth County’s government.

The Arnone Report: Remembering those lost on 9-11

By Freeholder Director Tom Arnone

mount-mitchell-9-11Over the weekend, Americans all over our great country gathered at memorials and events to remember the victims of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks against our nation. We honored the innocent lives lost, along with the fearless display of heroism by first responders and citizens who responded to the unfolding tragedy.   In all, nearly 3,000 people died as a result of the attacks that day – they were family members, friends, co-workers and neighbors.

The Arnone Report: Addressing the needs of autistic children and adults

By Freeholder Director Tom Arnone

As I have mentioned before, one of the most rewarding organizations I am involved in is the Monmouth Ocean Foundation for Children (MOFFC).  I share this honor with our Monmouth County Sheriff, Shaun Golden, as we are both members of the board of directors.  As the vice chairman of the board, I am working with MOFFC leadership to develop a facility for adults with autism because they “age out” of the current services available within our county at 21 years of age.  This facility would provide programming, services, therapies, and life skills training. These adults with special needs deserve a safe environment where they can continue to thrive and learn.

I am pleased to say we are extremely close to making this program a reality and I am currently working on the funding sources for it. I hope to have more specific details on this important and exciting project in the weeks to come.

The Arnone Report: Fort Monmouth Progress, Monmouth Park needs help

By Freeholder Director Tom Arnone

Fort MonmouthHello Monmouth County! What an incredible few weeks it has been here throughout our beautiful county. The weather has been near perfect, providing great opportunities to visit all the wonderful places and activities we have to offer.

I have some very exciting news to share about the Former Fort Monmouth property. The Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders provided final approval last week to guarantee $35 million in notes and bonds through the Monmouth County Improvement Authority (MCIA). The funding will be used to revitalize the property which has been closed since 2011 and the potential impact of this redevelopment on our residents is enormous. It was the right thing to do for the region.

Monmouth County Democrat Chairman Vin Gopal drew more attention to the grassroots uprising of Belmar residents against the policies of their mayor, “Lawless Matt” Doherty, yesterday with a post on the Monmouth Democrats facebook page denying the Observer (formerly PolitickerNJ) article that reported that he and Doherty accused the Monmouth GOP and this website of paying protesters to demonstrate outside Doherty’s house during a campaign fundraiser last week featuring Senator Cory Booker.

The Arnone Report: Too much good stuff for a catchy headline

Did you know that Monmouth County is the gateway to the Jersey Shore? It’s evident in the more than 50 miles of beaches we have here. I hope you are taking in all that we offer in this beautiful county – from the boardwalk full of rides in Keansburg to the acres of vineyards in Cream Ridge.

Last week, along with Deputy Director DiMaso, I was happy to welcome the brand new anchor team for NBC New York to the Jersey Shore. They stopped in at Keansburg Amusement Park to take in all the sights and sounds – including zeppoles and pizza from the famous Victors Pizza and even got on a few rides! Thank you NBC New York for coming out to the beautiful Jersey Shore and helping promote the region as a vacation destination for all your viewers
