Hugin releases video featuring supporters from all 21 NJ counties

Six hours before the polls close in the NJ GOP primary for U.S. Senate in which he is the heavy favorite for victory, Bob Hugin of Summit released a video on facebook and youtube featuring supporters from all 21 counties in New Jersey.

Watch closely or you might miss Assemblywoman Serena DiMaso representing Monmouth County.

Eric Hinds seeks to take over the Holmdel GOP

When I asked Holmdel Township Committeeman Eric J. Hinds if he was behind the slate of Republican County Committee candidates challenging 15 of the 20 Monmouth County Republican Organization candidates with The Holmdel Republican Committee slogan in the primary next Tuesday, June 5, he said, “I’ve been educating people about how to get more involved in their community.”

That evasive answer sounded a lot like the answer that one of the challenging candidates gave me earlier. “I want to learn how to get more involved in my community,” said Mary Vassilakos.  When I asked Vassilakos how the team of candidates came together, who was the leader and how was the slogan chosen she said, “The Holmdel Repbublican Committee is the name of the facebook page.”  “You named your slate of candidates after a facebook page?” I asked.  “You’re making it sound like some kind of conspiracy.  I don’t like your questions. You don’t have my permission to quote me.”

Hinds failed to educate his candidates about Off the Record protocol.  So I’ll do it:  You go off the record and get the reporter’s agreement prior answering a question.  Read the rest of this entry »

Curley Threatened to Stab DiMaso

Disgraced Freeholder John P. Curley threatened to stab former Freeholder Serena DiMaso with a syringe, referred to DiMaso by an Italian slur,and made fun of an unspecified female County employee’s derriere, according to an Asbury Park Press report.

Curley also lunged at an employee, pointing in her face, and was overhead telling a third-party, “look at her a–,” “Who would want to sleep with her?” and “I wouldn’t touch her with a 40-foot pole,” according to app.com

If you call Curley at 732-683-8838 to demand that he resign, tell him you read about his disgusting conduct in the Asbury Park Press.

Last week at a Freeholder meeting, Curley told a resident who asked him about the allegations levied against him by former Assemblyman Michael Panter last month, that he does not respond to blogs.  So far, only MMM has reported on Panter’s letter. Read the rest of this entry »

DiMaso proposes school safety legislation

Assemblywoman Serena DiMaso (R-Monmouth), along with her colleagues Assemblywomen Nancy Munoz (R-Union) and Holly Schepisi (R-Bergen), today called on the legislature to take action on a 10 bill package they introduced last week to address school safety in light of the recent shooting in Parkland, Florida and other tragic incidents.

The proposed legislation is based on recommendations from two panels of experts that were set-up in the wake of the 2012 school shooting in Newtown, Conn, DiMaso and Munoz said in a joint statement.   The groups included government officials, education leaders, law enforcement, community members, school officials, teachers and parents. Lunging Larry Luttrell to seek Democrat nomination for Monmouth County Freeholder

Larry ‘The Lunger’ Luttrell , a Democrat lawyer from Holmdel, is running for Monmouth County Freeholder for the third time, according to  report at InsiderNJ.

Luttrell earned the moniker The Lunger as a freeholder candidate in 2014.  During a debate at the Four Seasons Club House in Manalapan, Luttrell jumped from his seat and lunged towards Freeholder Lillian Burry when she asked him, “Is your name Pinocchio?” in response to a comment he made distorting her record.

This year maybe we’ll call Luttrell The Masochist because he apparently likes to be beaten.   In addition to losing his freeholder race to Burry in 2014, he lost to Serena DiMaso in 2013.  He lost a bid to be elected to the Holmdel Township Committee in 2012 and again last year.

All those beatings earned Luttrell’s wife, Renee, a five year term on the Monmouth County Tax Board. Read the rest of this entry »

Scharfenberger running for DiMaso’s freeholder seat, Kiley seeking GOP nomination for full freeholder term

Sue Kiley and Gerry Scharfenberger are likely GOP running mates for Monmouth County Freeholder

Middletown Township Committeeman Gerry Scharfenberger is the only declared candidate for the Monmouth County Freeholder seat vacated by Serena DiMaso taking office as a member of the New Jersey General Assembly.  The Monmouth County Republican County Committee is scheduled to fill the vacancy in a special election/convention on February 3 at iPlayAmerica in Freehold Township.

Hazlet Deputy Mayor Sue Kiley is seeking the GOP nomination for the full freeholder term of the seat currently held by disgraced Freeholder John P. Curley.  That nomination is will also be awarded on February 3.  Kiley is the only known candidate circulating petitions for the nomination as required by the Party By-Laws. Curley Harassment Probe Cost $24K

The investigation into disgraced Freeholder John P. Curley’s harassment of Monmouth County employees cost taxpayers $24,075.00, according to documents obtained by MMM via OPRA request.

Former Acting Associate Supreme Court Justice Mary Catherine Cuff commenced the investigation by reviewing the County’s Anti-Discrimination policy on June 15, 2017, according to her invoice dated November 14, 2017.   Judge Cuff conducted four interviews in July and three interviews in August.   She spent 7.25 hours reviewing tape of Board meetings during the month of August. Election Day Predictions 2017

Kim Guadagno will be elected the 56th Governor of New Jersey by less than 2000 votes.

The Associated Press will not call the NJ gubernatorial race until Thursday due to the failure of the vote reporting systems in Essex, Hudson, Camden and Middlesex counties which will prevent the vote from being counted.  CNN and NJ.com will report rumors that the New Jersey election was hacked by the Russians.

Steve Sweeney will survive the millions spent against his reelection by the NJEA.  The teachers’ union will lose considerable influence in Trenton and its membership will revolt against leadership and reform the association.  Guadagno and Sweeney will have a stronger and more effective reform agenda than Christie and Sweeney had during the first Christie’s term. DiMaso Named To Ashley Lauren Foundation Board

Freeholder Serena DiMaso has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Ashley Lauren Foundation, according to an announcement by the Spring Lake based charity that provides financial assistance, emotional support and many other programs to children and families throughout New Jersey who are suffering from the hardships of pediatric cancer.

Founder and CEO Monica Vermeulen, Ashely’s mom, states, “We are honored to have Serena DiMaso join our Board. Serena brings a tremendous amount of experience which will help to further our mission of helping children with cancer.”

DiMaso is not newcomer to charitable boards.  She serves on the Meridian Hospital’s Corporation Board of Trustees, is Chairwoman of the Bayshore Hospital Foundation.
