Monmouth County Leaders Condemn Local Hate Speech

The Republican leaders of Monmouth County Government issued the following statement regarding the anti-Semitic and racist flyers posted in Asbury Park last weekend, as reported by The Asbury Park Press:

“It has come to our attention that racist, anti-Semitic, and hateful flyers were recently posted in the City of Asbury Park. Racism, anti-Semitism, bigotry, discrimination, or any type of hate have no place in Monmouth County, New Jersey.  Such conduct and speech is not consistent with our culture. We are a diverse county with people of all races and religions living together in harmony. These flyers do not reflect the reality of our communities.

Monmouth Dem Candidates Speak At Anti-Cop, Anti-Christian Hate Group Meeting

The Democrat candidate for Senate in LD 13, one of his Assembly running mates, the Monmouth Dem Freeholders candidates, and a Democrat candidate for Middletown Township Committee were the honored guests of a group that depicts police officers as nazis and Mother Theresa as a sadistic religious fanatic.   The group, District 4 Coalition for Change, has also posted a nude photo of First Lady Melania Trump on its facebook page.

Sean Byrnes, the former Middletown Township Committeeman running for Senate in LD 13, Mariel DiDato, the 25 year old Hazlet resident running for Assembly in LD 13, Lake Como Mayor Brian Wilton and his freeholder running mate Dr. Margie Donlon, and Tricia Maguire, a candidate for Middletown Township Committee were all invited to speak at the event which was held at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Lincroft.   The 80 people attending were asked to donate to the candidates’ campaigns.

Asbury Park Man, Ocean Grove Woman, Indicted For Animal Cruelty

Andre P. Parker, 31, of Sunset Avenue in Asbury Park, and Tara R. Robinson, 43, of Lawrence Avenue in the Ocean Grove section of Neptune Township, were indicted with multiple counts of animal cruelty and related charges by a Monmouth County Grand Jury today, according to an announcement by Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni.

The indictment is the result of a joint investigation by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, Monmouth County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (MCSPCA), Asbury Park and Neptune Township police departments.

The investigation revealed that in January and February of this year, Parker caused a one- to two-year-old pit bull mix, known as Destiny, to become severely abused. Read the rest of this entry »

Long Branch man sentenced to 50 years in prison for near-fatal shooting

Coast Guard rescues three boaters near Highlands

A Coast Guard boatcrew from Sandy Hook Station pulled three people out the the Sandy Hook Bay near Highlands this afternoon, according to a press release by the USCG.

While on routine patrol at approximately 2:30 p.m., the crew aboard a 29-foot Response Boat-Small witnessed a nine-foot John boat overturn sending the passengers into the water.

Guadagno rips two faced Murphy at First Responders’ Town Hall in Hazlet

First responders lined up to speak personally with LG Kim Guadagno after her Town Hall meeting in Hazlet

Lt Governor Kim Guadagno held a town hall meeting with Monmouth County first responders, career and volunteers, yesterday at the North Centerville Fire House in Hazlet on Friday.

Murphy promises to raise taxes by $1.3 billion

Former Goldman Sachs banker Phil Murphy, the Democrat nominee for NJ Governor, promised to raise taxes on New Jersey citizens by $1.3 billion dollars if elected, according to an Observer report.

Murphy’s law would reinstate the the McGreevey/Corzine era “millionaires tax” to raise $600 million. $300 million would come from taxing legalized marijuana. New Jersey businesses would be on the hook for an additional $290 million and hedge fund managers would be required to chip in an additional $80-$100 million, if they don’t move to Pennsylvania or New York, under Murphy’s plan.

The plan would solve all of New Jersey’s problems and lower property taxes, according to Murphy’s spokesman. Read the rest of this entry »
