MY 9/11 memory, by Charles Measley
It was a morning very similar to this as I sat in my six grade English class at
Holy Trinity School in Long Branch. When a teacher from across the hall came in
and instructed us to turn on the news, that there was some sort of accident in
New York City.

As we turned on CNN we saw a gaping hole on the side of a skyscraper as the
reporters struggled to understand how a pilot could make such a horrific mistake on a clear day like this. As we sat there and watch without warning we saw an airplane coming from behind and slamming into the next tower with a horrific fireball. At that moment the attitude of everyone change , the reporters said with certainty that this was no accident, but intentional.

Shortly after that my father came and picked me up early, he drove me down to the beach in West, a section of Long Branch. As we stood there on the sandy
beach with the crystal clear sky in front of us we could see the smoke billowing
from the city. In the back of my mind I was wondering if my mother,  who worked in the city was okay.

We went back home and put on the news and watch as one tower fell, and then
another, and then a plane crashing into the Pentagon and then another plane
smashing into a field in Pennsylvania. Luckily that day my mother never made it  in, she left late and got stuck in traffic on the parkway by Perth Amboy.

Team Obama Asks New Jerseyans for Dirt On Christie

By Charles Measley, cross posted from SaveJersey

I enjoy signing up to Democrat e-mail newsletters, Save Jerseyans; it gives you perspective as to what their upcoming attacks and extremist proposals will look like.

Yesterday morning, Barack Obama’s New Jersey campaign sent out an e-mail saying that Gov. Chris Christie is on Romney’s short list for VP (I hope he is!) and that our Governor’s name has recently come back up as a possible pick. The e-mail goes on to say that New Jerseyans have to get “the truth” out about our Governor.

Team Obama has even created a website to collect stories from Jerseyans about Gov. Chris Christie and are encouraging their supporters to share their stories, “to hold him accountable on the campaign trail.”

As conservatives, I think we should submit our own stories to team Obama’s new website. Like the story of how Gov. Chris Christie capped property taxes at 2%. Or perhaps how Gov. Chris Christie saved New Jersey’s pension system for state workers. Or what about the story were Gov. Chris Christie proposed lowering everyone’s income tax rate by 10% and Democrats did nothing?

Let’s show team Obama that we are going to hold them accountable! Submit your Chris Christie story to team Obama here.

The full Team Obama email is just below the fold…

Pallone Expected Anna Little’s Primary Victory

Charles Measley is hilarious.

The Ryder University student, Rumson County Committeeman, and founder of the FrankPalloneNotForNewJersey blog  wakes up every morning thinking of ways to get Frank Pallone out of office.

Early this year when it appeared that no Republican would step up to run against Pallone, Charles set out to find a candidate.  Anna Little was still running for U.S. Senate at that point.

As the self appointed Chairman of the Defeat Pallone Brigade, Charles spoke to dozens of potential candidates; elected officials, former candidates, even bloggers, all of whom had 4 million and 1 good reasons not to run against the incumbent congressman, until Ernesto Cullari said yes.  Charles became a campaign manager.

Pallone doesn’t seem to mind.

Here, Pallone poses with Charles wearing a Bayshore Tea Party t-shirt during an April 2011 beach clean up in Belmar.

Over the Memorial Day weekend last month, Charles was driving down Ocean Avenue in Long Branch when he spotted Pallone gardening in his front yard. Never one to miss an opportunity, Charles stopped to ask the congressman who he preferred his opponent to be; Little or Cullari.  Charles recorded the conversation. Click on the link to listen to their chat:

Frank Pallone tells Charles Measley who will win the GOP primary in CD-6

Gonzalez denies stealing signs. Threatens legal action

Bayshore Tea Party Group founder Barbara Gonzalez said “I have never done that and I never would” regarding the report on MMM on Saturday that a Cullari for Congress volunteer said she and BTPG activist Joe Abbruscato were spotted stealing Cullari’s signs in Middletown.

In an email to MMM Gonzalez said her attorney advised her to request a retraction and an apology or proof that she stole the signs.

On facebook Gonzalez threatened to sue Cullari’s Middlesex County coordinator Peter Carrol, campaign manager Charles Measley and “a certain blogger” unless proof of the allegations is produced by 9PM.

MMM contacted the campaign volunteer who says he witnessed the theft at about 7:40 PM on Friday.  He said he “definately saw Joey with the signs.  Barbara’s Jeep was pulled over so she was likely around.”

Rob Little, the former Highlands Mayor’s husband, called MMM shortly after our report was posted to say that Gonzalez was with him all night on Friday and that she could not have been involved in the theft.  MMM immediately updated the report with Little’s story.

Bayshore Tea Party Group Members Stealing Signs

Cullari for Congress Campaign Manager Charles Measley tells MMM that one of the campaign’s volunteers spotted Bayshore Tea Party Group founder Barbara Gonzalez and active member Joe Abburscato stealing Cullari for Congress signs last evening in Middletown.  Measley said he called Abbruscato who initially denied the thefts before calling back with a defiant rant.

Measley called the police and is filing a complaint in Middletown Municipal Court.

It is a shame to see that BTPG has fallen so low as to resort to tactics normally deployed in Middletown by the Democrats.

Gonzalez publically boasts babbles of throwing a member out of her organization for “stealing and spying” information shared via email with a members of the BTPG ememies list.  Who will throw Barbara out?

UPDATE  8:41 AM

Rob Little, for the former mayor’s husband, just called with an alibi for Barbara.  Little said that Barabara was with him all night and that she could not have possibly been among the sign thieves.

You can fool some of the people some of the time…..

Monmouth County GOP nominee for Congress Ernesto Cullari’s campaign manager, Charles Measley, just called from Trenton where he and Cullari were filing petitions with 319 signatures for the 6th District GOP primary election.

Measley said that a reporter from The Star Ledger asked Cullari what he thought of Anna Little quitting politics to become a singer.

Cullari told the reporter he didn’t know what to think and that Little seems to keep changing her mind about what office she wants to seek, according to Measley.

In case you missed it, yesterday was April 1.

Measley said that by the time he left the Secretary of State’s office at about 1PM, neither Little or anyone from her team had arrived to file petitions. No fooling.  The deadline is 4PM.

Update

Little arrived at the Secretary of State’s office to file her petitions at about 2:30.

Veterans of Anna’s Army Marching For Cullari

Key supporters of Anna Little’s 2010 congressional run are lining up behind Ernesto Cullari in his bid to win the GOP nomination for the 6th district seat occupied by Congressman Frank Pallone.

Asbury Park businessman Henry Vaccarro, Sr, a member of Little’s 2010 Finance Committee, endorsed Cullari this afternoon.  Peter Carroll, the Middlesex County coordinator of Little’s 2010 effort has pledged to play the same role for Cullari should there be a primary.  Charles Measley, a 60 hour per week volunteer for Little in 2010 is coordinating Cullari’s current effort.

Bayshore Tea Party Group co-founder Barabara Gonzalez told MMM that she was looking forward to interviewing Cullari when asked for comment on the potential race.

Little’s campaign manager, Larry Cirignano, was not available for comment.

Despite the lack of a formal announcement withdrawing from the U.S. Senate race and entering the CD-6 race, Little is expected before the Middlesex GOP screening committee this evening to ask for their CD-6 endorsement.

Cullari will also be seeking the Middlesex screening committee’s endorsement tonight.

Help the Rider University College Republicans go to CPAC 2012. Donate today!

Our deadline is this Thursday afternoon!

By Charles Measley

The Rider University College Republicans are under assault by the liberal Rider University administration. After reaching out to the schools finance committee back in November, the finance committee has decided to delay any funding leaving us in an uncertain position. We would like to be able to fund our own trip without having to rely on the committee. We are reaching out to ask if you can help us by making a donation. CPAC starts this Thursday and the school finance committee has just notified us of the delay with no hearing date set.

In comparison the finance board rapidly funded a trip for the Rider University Environmental club protesting the Keystone pipeline back in November where the

protest they attended changed the Department of Interior decision from yes to no on the Keystone pipeline.

We are asking you to help support the future of this great country and of the conservative movement. Please consider making a donation today!

Every day the Rider University College Republicans stand up against left-wing professors indoctrinating your children, not just here at Rider but all across New Jersey. Because the Rider Republicans take a stand for freedom they are facing funding challenges from Rider University. In order to standup against left-wing professors we need your support! Please consider donating today!

P.S. Our goal is to raise $5,000 as of now we have $2,000, if you can donate of as much as you can that would be greatly appreciated.

“As Chairman of the Rider University College Republicans, I want to let everyone know that US Senate candidate Joe Kyrillos was extremely generous in donating to our trip to CPAC!

I want to ask if you could follow in Joe’s footsteps and make a donation today! You can do it by the link below, we would really appreciate it!” – Charles D. Measley

Measley Issues Apology To Lautenberg. Challenges The Senator To Turn His Wealth Over To U.S. Treasury

Charles Measley, the 21 year-old Brookdale grad and Rumson GOP committeeman, who created a media storm last week with his “We must eliminate the rich” graphics on a YouTube video of U.S. Senator Frank Lautenberg’s remarks in Belmar, issued the following statement this afternoon:

On August 14th I filmed and uploaded a video of Senator Frank Lautenberg speaking on the boardwalk in Belmar, NJ. The video, which was uploaded to YouTube, featured the Senator calling on “the rich” to pay more taxes. The Senator stated that “there’s another place to get your money, and it’s to get it from people like me.”  This argument has become an all-too-familiar refrain from the super-elite worth more than $50 million, as is Senator Lautenberg.

Towards the end of the video I misunderstood what the senator was saying. I thought the Senator at one point said “eliminate the rich.” However, after others brought up concerns regarding the video, I examined the footage more carefully and have since determined that the Senator did not say “eliminate the rich.” Rather, he muddled what sounds like a mix of the words “ways” and “waste.”

I would like to formally apologize for misunderstanding and misquoting the senator.

Sen. Frank Lautenberg is not against the presently rich; he is against people becoming rich, lest they become part of his exclusive club. Those who are super-rich, like the senator, are worth millions of dollars. The Senator can afford to live off the $50 Million he has amassed over his 50-year political career and doesn’t need any new income streams. Raising income taxes on the super-rich like Senator Lautenberg would not affect people like the Senator because they have already accumulated their wealth.

Rather, raising the income tax rate prevents individuals in the middle class from becoming rich like Senator Lautenberg. It does this by taking away their means to become rich and that is bytaxing their income.

Senator Lautenberg has been an unfailing member of the class warfare party (i.e. Democrats) for half a century and in that time he has become extremely wealthy on the backs of the middle class. Yet his policies and those of his party have resulted in nothing but the near-complete prevention of middle class Americans achieving the American Dream.

I challenge Senator Lautenberg to write a check to the U.S. Treasury for $50 million dollars. His Senate salary, together with the Social Security he collects, should be plenty off of which to live. Millions of less fortunate Americans do it every single day.

In closing, while Senator Lautenberg may not have actually said “eliminate the rich”, by his policies he has prevented untold numbers of hard-working Americans from becoming rich like him. “Preventing” and “eliminating” in this sense, are one and the same.
