A registered sex offender and his spouse recorded video of Little Silver Republican Chairman Stuart Van Winkle asking them if they had granted Rick Brandt permission to put campaign signs at their business. They then spun the encounter as illegal harassment and posted the video on YouTube. Brandt linked to the video in a lengthy press release on Thursday in which he depicts himself as a victim of “the dark underbelly” of Little Silver politics.
RedBankGreen depicted Will and Ingrid Garcia as “mom and pop” owners of a detail shop located at the overpriced Shell gas station across the street from the Little Silver train station. A brief MMM investigation revealed that Will Garcia is a registered Tier 2 sex offender listed in both the New Jersey and Florida law enforcement databases. He was convicted of sexual contact with two juvenile females.

By Monmouth County Freeholder Director Tom Arnone

Freeholder Director Tom Arnone marching in the Farmingdale Memorial Day Parade
In observance of this past Memorial Day, we should take the time to remember those who lost their lives while bravely serving our country. It is because of these heroic men and women that we can continue to enjoy the freedoms they so bravely fought to defend.
Let it also not be lost on us the sacrifices made by the families of these heroes, including Gold Star Mothers. Through their grief and heartbreak, these women have been pillars of strength in their communities, keeping alive the legacies of their loved ones. I would also like to thank those who have served and are currently serving our country.
I encourage all parents and guardians to talk to their children about the importance of honoring and remembering those who have fought for our country. It is important to teach our children to recognize and remember the sacrifices made by those who serve our country throughout the entire year, not just during certain occasions and holidays.

Rick ‘The Pretender’ Brandt, the 30 year old challenger to Little Silver Mayor Bob Neff in the Republican primary on June 4 took posed for photos with 8 grade students of Markham Place School today, a violation of the school’s social media policy ( and of common sense and decency), and posted with photos on his campaign facebook page.
Brandt’s action caused a stir among parents in Little Silver facebook groups. The school was alerted of Brandt’s actions and immediately demanded that he remove the photos. MMM obtained screenshots of the offense and edited the photos to protect the identity of the children and to maximize the ridicule of Brandt. Read the rest of this entry »

Little Silver Mayor Bob Neff and Rick Brandt are facing off in the GOP primary on June 4
Little Silver Mayor Bob Neff contacted MMM this morning, in response to our story about the Meet the Candidates event on May 28, to say he does not believe that Rick Brandt, his opponent in the June 4 Republican primary, is avoiding the forum sponsored by the Little Silver GOP because he is not permitted at the venue.
“I don’t believe that Rick’s access to Markham Place School has ever been restricted in any way, so that’s not standing in the way of a debate,” Neff said in text message.

Ocean GOP Chairman Frank Holman
Frank Holman defeated Frank Sadegi 254 -229 in a special election for Ocean County Republican Chairman, according to sources at the convention in Toms River.
Holman replaces George Gilmore who resigned one week after being convicted by a federal jury for failing to pay his employees payroll taxes and lying on a loan application.
The new chairman was supported the County’s legislative delegation and freeholders. Sadeghi was supported by Gilmore.
Former Monmouth County GOP Executive Director Tom Szymanski managed Holman’s campaign. Szymanski had a very good week. He managed Rob Acerra’s winning campaign in Ocean Township too.
