State of the Art Medical Facility Opens in Hazlet

IMMEDIATE CARE Medical Walk-In creates 25 new jobs, provides quality convenient health care in the bayshore

“Our mission is to take the hassle out of going to the doctor.”

“It’s like a hospital in the mall,” exclaimed Sal Cannizzaro of the 4500 square foot medical facility he built in Hazlet’s Airport Plaza.  With 10 examination rooms, an digital X-Ray room a phelobotomy lab, the entrepeneur is obviously proud of his new baby.  “We’re even paperless with EMR (electronic medical records), the only paper you see in this office is the sign in sheet and your appointment card.  We invested $1.5 million in this facility and we’re employing 25 people.

With the real estate market in the tank Cannizzaro, a builder and developer, teamed up with his physican, Dr. Lisa Golding-Granado, MD, who also happened to be his tenant, to create IMMEDIATE CARE Medical Walk-In of Hazlet with the mission of taking the hassle out of going to the doctor.

“Dr. Golding-Granado’s office had a two week wait to get an appointment,” said Cannizzaro, “when you’re suffering and need a doctor, you can’t wait that long and the emergency room costs a forture for the patient and the insurance company.”

“We provide 98% of the top medical services that people regularly need,” said Golding-Granado, the new facility’s medical director, “be it urgent care like an infection, migraines, minor injuries and lacerations, or primary care like checking diabetes, blood pressure and providing physicals.”

“For anyone that leaves within a three to five mile radius, we provide high quality care from board certified physicians, without that hassle,” Cannizzaro explained, “you don’t need an appointment, you’re waiting only 15 minutes and we send you home in 45 minutes. We take all insurances and medicare.”

“Urgent care is for non-emergent, non-traumatic problems that need to be addressed quickly. Major traumas, heart attacks, stokes and the like are for the emergency rooms.  Urinary track infections, bronchitis, migranes and the like we can treat here quickly and more affordably,” said Golding-Granado, “we can also check your diabetes and blood pressure, perform X-Rays and Labs and provide vaccines.

The facility is open 84 hours a week, Monday-Friday 7 a.m.-9 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. till 5 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. till 3 p.m.

In addition to Golding-Granado, IMMEDIATE CARE is staffed with a board certified orthopedic surgeon, an osteopath certified in Sport and Family Medicine, three nurse practitioners who can prescribed meds and three RN’s.  Cannizzaro and Golding-Granado plan to add a Pediatric specialist to their staff soon.

A large crowd of business, government and community leaders were on hand last week to welcome IMMEDIATE CARE at their ceremonial grand opening.

Northern Monmouth Chamber of Commerce President Cliff Moore is excited to see a new business opening in Hazlet. “It is a beautiful state of the art facility that is using what was a vacant store front on Route 36,” said Moore, “they’re employing more than 25 local residents.  That’s a great combination and a welcome additon to the community.”

The grand opening may be the first of many.  IMMEDIATE CARE plans to open a physical therapy center and two more health care facilities in Monmouth County in the next 18 months on their way to building 10-12 centers in in Central New Jersey over the next few years.

Christie Vetos ObamaCare Exchange

Governor Christie Continues Prudent Approach to Federal Health Care Implementation with Veto of State-Run Exchange Legislation

Veto Avoids Saddling State Taxpayers with Huge, Open-Ended Exchange Costs Without Comparative Details of Alternatives from the Federal Government

Trenton, NJ – Continuing a careful and thoughtful approach that appropriately considers the best interests of the state’s residents and taxpayers, Governor Chris Christie today vetoed legislation that would have begun to establish a State-based health care exchange in New Jersey in line with the federal Affordable Care Act. Though December 14, 2012 is the deadline for states to decide whether to establish a State-based Exchange, the federal government has failed to provide critical information and to answer basic questions about the operation and implementation of each of the options provided, making any decision made now hasty, incomplete, and perhaps fiscally detrimental to the taxpayers of New Jersey.

Governor Christie has consistently stated that once legal issues surrounding the Affordable Care Act were settled, New Jersey would comply with the federal mandate, but only in the most responsible way among the available alternatives. The creation of health care exchanges is provided for in the Affordable Care Act as the vehicle for eligible individuals and businesses to access care, with three exchange options being given to states: Federally Facilitated, Partnership, or State-based. Though the federal government’s deadline for states to select the type of exchange they will participate in is nearly here, New Jersey and all other states still await substantial federal guidance on all three options.

“We will comply with the Affordable Care Act, but only in the most efficient and cost effective way for New Jersey taxpayers. Such an important decision as how to best move forward for New Jerseyans can only be understood and reasonably made when fairly and fully compared to the overall value of the other options. Until the federal government gives us all the necessary information, any other action than this would be fiscally irresponsible,” said Governor Christie. “Thus far, we lack such critical information from the federal government. I will not ask New Jerseyans to commit today to a State-based Exchange when the federal government cannot tell us what it will cost, how that cost compares to other options, and how much control they will give the states over this option that comes at the cost of our state’s taxpayers.”

Governor Christie has previously and continually cited the importance – both from a fiscal and health care policy perspective – of having additional clarity and guidance from the federal government on a host of critical issues related to implementation of the Affordable Care Act at the state level. Absent this critical information about cost, cost-sharing, scope of control, and the federal rulemaking landscape, New Jersey cannot fairly evaluate the best or most fiscally prudent path to follow for its residents.

“Financing the building and implementation of a State-based Exchange would be an extraordinarily costly endeavor,” continued Governor Christie. “While the federal governmental has enabled states to apply for grant funding to cover some of the initial costs of such an endeavor, the total price for such a program has never been quantified, and is likely to be onerous. Without knowing the full scope of which Exchange option would be most beneficial and cost efficient for New Jerseyans, it would be irresponsible to force such a bill on our citizens.”

Federal Judge: ObamaCare Unconstitutional

U.S. District Judge Roger Vinson ruled, without trial, that the ObamaCare bill passed last year is unconstitutional.

The health care overhaul has been stricken down in one other court, and upheld in two others.  The matter will likely head now to the U. S. Supreme Court.

The text of Judge Vinson’s 78 page ruling can be found here.

Doctors Organization Endorses Little for Congress

Republican Congressional contender Anna Little  received the endorsement of the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons this evening, at an event in New Brunswick.

“Anna Little understands that medical decisions are the most personal decisions in our lives, and should be kept between doctors and patients,” said Dr. Alieta Eck, President-elect of the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons (AAPS), who  announced the endorsement on behalf of the AAPS. “Anna understands that the government takeover of health care will be damaging to our citizens’ abilities to choose their own doctors, make their own medical decisions, and receive the quality care of their choice.

“Government bureaucrats simply don’t know what’s best for patients,” continued Eck. “They cannot. Only patients and their doctors should make those decisions. Ann Little understands that, and Frank Pallone clearly does not. That’s why endorsing Anna Little was an easy decision.”

“I’m honored to receive the endorsement of the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons,” said Little. “They’re battling on the front lines of health care every day, and they know better than most just how destructive ‘PalloneCare’ is going to be.

“We need to repeal this bill as soon as possible – that’s why I’ve signed the Independent Women’s Voice ObamaCare Repeal Pledge, and that’s why I’m committed to fighting with everything I’ve got to get this law overturned once I get to Washington.

“If you think we’re headed in the right direction, then Frank Pallone is your man,” said Little. “But if you think we’re moving in the wrong direction, then I need your vote – because you cannot change Washington without changing the people we send to Washington!”

New Jersey Senator Tom Kean, Jr was on hand to introduce Little.

Wake Up, America!

By Thomas Stokes, Middletown

Obamacare was supposed to help seniors. Not really. Over $500 Billion in Medicare cuts are strangling medical services for the elderly. The cuts may force a number of hospitals to close. Adding millions more onto the Medicaid rolls will further increase the costs to the taxpayers.

Obamacare was not supposed to ration healthcare services. Obama nominated Dr. Donald Berwick, an advocate of health-care rationing to run Medicare and Medicaid. Dr. Berwick’s claim that the government must ration health care is a portent of things to come. “I am romantic about the National Health Service; I love it.” said Dr. Berwick in England in 2008 on the 60th anniversary of the British National Health Service.

Based upon their support for rationing, I guess I’m lucky to have had my open heart surgery done in 2007; some government bureaucrat can now decide whether I could have that operation or not. No government bureaucrat should ever come between a patient and their doctor.

As respects controlling costs; the career politicians assured us that health care costs would go down. Oops, even the Health and Human Services department now projects costs to rise more than originally projected. Didn’t they know that adding 34 million more people to the healthcare system would increase costs for those who subsidize this (us, the taxpayers). Are they really that stupid not to understand that by increasing demand on medical services without a corresponding increase in the supply (doctors and nurses) defacto rationing would occur?

“During 2010-2019, however, these effects (cost control features) would be outweighed by the increased costs associated with the expansions of health insurance coverage,” wrote Richard S. Foster, Medicare’s chief actuary. Insurance companies are now forced to raise rates for current policyholders to cover the additional costs caused by Obamacare.

It’s obvious that the Democrat plan to save Social Security and Medicare is to cut the payouts (not just the Cost of Living Increase) by reducing the number of recipients through attrition (namely, to kill the seniors off by rationing their health care). The only business which will thrive as a result are the funeral homes.

Of course, the only other profession who will continue to prosper are the attorneys. The ambulance chasers were deliberately protected by the Democrat Congress led by Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid when they refused to include any type of tort reform in Obamacare.

I urge my fellow seniors, homeowners and taxpayers to thank Obama and the Democrat career political establishment on Tuesday, November 2nd, by voting Republican for every office, even if you have to hold your nose.

The only way we will ever change Washington is if we change the people we send there. Anna Little in Congressional District 6 and Scott Sipprelle in Congressional District 12 would be a great start.

The Neptune Nudniks Drop The Ball Again

By Art Gallagher

If you know anyone who still gets their news from the Asbury Park Press, tell them that the Health Care Forum sponsored by the Monmouth County Medical Society has been moved from Riverview Medical Center to the Oyster Point Hotel.  And tell them that Falsetto Frankie has pulled out.

The Neptune Nudniks posted this story on their website today, Pallone, Little to debate Thursday at Riverview Medical CenterMMM reported yesterday that the venue had changed to the Oyster Point, and earlier today that that Phoney Palloney pulled out.

The Star Ledger got the facts right, U.S. Rep. Pallone unable to attend public health care forum with challenger Anna Little, even if their headline is a bit Phoney.  Of course Pallone is able to attend.  He just chooses not to.

MoreMonmouthMusings called Pallone’s office this afternoon to find out what was so pressing that the Congressman could not meet the doctors of the Monmouth County Medical Society and members of the public, along with Mayor Little, to discuss his major acheivement, the ObamaPalloneCare health care reform bill.  No one from the Congressman’s office has called back yet.

Kathleen Maher of the Ocean Township Democratic Club told MoreMonmouthMusings that Pallone’s office told her today that he is planning to attend the club’s monthly meeting tomorrow evening from 7:30-8:30, subject to an unexpected change is scheduling.  The meeting is at the West Park Recreation/Senior Center on West Park Ave between Route 35 and Whale Pond Rd, about a 15 minute drive from the Oyster Point Hotel.

Pallone should do the right thing and attend both events.  He can leave the Oyster Point and still get to the Ocean Township Democratic Club before that meeting ends. Or he could ask Kathleen to have the club members come to the Health Care Forum.

As for the Neptune Nudniks, they should really hire a fact checker to read MMM and NJ.com before they publish anything about politics or government in Monmouth County.

They should also publish their endorsement of Shaun Golden for Monmouth County Sheriff on their website.golden-for-sheriff

Pallone Pulls Out Of Health Care Forum

By Art Gallagher

Congressman Frank Pallone has pulled out of the Monmouth Medical Society’s Health Care candidates forum, siting a scheduling conflict. A call to the Congressman’s campaign office to find out what he will be doing instead has yet to be returned.

The forum will go on as scheduled Thursday evening at the Oyster Point Hotel in Red Bank at 7PM.  GOP Candidate Anna Little will be there and a chair will be available for Pallone should he have a change of heart.

While we don’t know where Pallone will be tomorrow night, we know where he will be on Sunday night and where he learned about pulling out.

Planned Parenthood of Central Jersey is celebrating their 75th Anniversary on Sunday.  Falsetto Frankie is being honored with the Baby Killer’s Leadership Award.

p_phood

I’ve never had any first hand experience with Planned Parenthood. I always figured it was a place where people went to get cheap (subsidized) contraceptives and abortions.  Little did I know that they have an education program for teens, parents and educators.

Here’s what Planned Parenthood teaches teens about pulling out:

Pulling out, or the pull-out method, refers to withdrawal, which is one of many ways to prevent pregnancy. Read on for the scoop on withdrawal: how it works, how well it works, and why it may not be the right choice for teens.

What is withdrawal?

Also known — more scientifically — as coitus interruptus, withdrawal may be the world’s oldest way to practice birth control. When a guy performs withdrawal, he removes his penis from the vagina before he ejaculates, or comes — that’s when semen spurts from his penis.

How does that prevent pregnancy?

The idea behind withdrawal is simple: If sperm is not released into the vagina, pregnancy is impossible.

Read the rest here.

Somebody should tell Phoney Palloney and Planned Parenthood about the dangers of pulling out.  They should all show up tomorrow in at the Oyster Point in Red Bank where there will be some good doctors who might explain it to them.

Little and Pallone to debate health care on Thursday

NJ-6 Congressional Candidates Anna Little and Frank Pallone will face off in their second debate on Thursday evening October 21 at the Riverview Medical Center’s Blasisdal Auditorium in Red Bank.   The debate, sponsored by the Monmouth County Medical Society is open to the public, however registration is required.  RSVP to Cathy: [email protected]

Little has made the repeal of ObamaCare, she calls is PalloneCare, the cornerstone of her campaign to unseat her 11 term incumbent opponent.  Pallone boasts that the health care reform bill passed by the 111th Congress was his bill, not Nancy Pelosi’s and not President Obama’s.

A National Research poll by pollster extraordinaire Adam Geller has the candidates in a dead heat 44%-43% with a 5.66% margin of error.  Little leads Pallone 58%-32% among voters who are aware of both candidates.
