An Asbury Park Letter to Springsteen About “The Middle” Commercial

By Tommy DeSeno

Tommy DeSeno

Hello Bruce.  I grew up in Asbury Park.

We’ve met a few times.  Not in any way you’d remember.  Just a fan running into you at Asbury’s bars.  I have a picture of us meeting at The Jeffersonin Asbury in the early 80’s.  I was a teenager working the boardwalk and racing Asbury’s “Circuit” in the 70’s.  One of the kids “huddled on the beach in the mist,” if you will.

State Senators Declan O’Scanlon and Anthony Bucco launched an online petition today urging Governor Phil Murphy to allow New Jersey’s bars and restaurants to stay open for the Super Bowl on Sunday.

Murphy has mandated that eateries close at 10pm, despite the fact that there is no evidence of greater COVID-19 transmission after 10. With the Super Bowl scheduled to start at 6:30 pm, it is likely that the game will extend beyond 10 pm and forcing the establishments to send their customers home before the Vince Lombardi Trophy is awarded.

Jack Ciattarelli, GOP candidate for NJ Governor, and State Senator Declan O’Scanlon

Senator Declan O’Scanlon, Jr has endorsed Jack Ciattarelli for Governor of New Jersey:

“We all know how distressingly rare it is to have exactly the right candidate come along at exactly the right moment….someone with an in-depth grasp of the days most critical issues and the intellectual heft to offer real, workable solutions. Helps too if the candidate has a sense of humor, doesn’t condescendingly presume he knows everything & genuinely holds deep family & community values.
