Since the first Candidates Forum in Neptune Township on September 23rd, one particular issue has been brought to the attention of all of the candidates for Township Committee several times; that of the possible health risks of Verizon’s 5G wireless transmitters. Kendra Hogan & Gary Moll, the Republican candidates, have favored a “go slow” approach citing a number of studies. Celebrating the life of Braeden Bradforth on the 1st anniversary of his death

A group of about 100 community members, family and friends showed up in force at the Pop Warner Football field in Neptune Township on Thursday evening to celebrate the life of Braeden Bradforth, the 19 year old  football player who died of heatstroke at Garden City Community College in Garden City, Kansas last August 1, during his first day of practice as a scholarship player of the school’s team.

Asbury Park Must Lock the Wesley Lake Footbridges Permanently

The hot local issue is the 25-year-old practice of Ocean Grove (a section of Neptune Township) locking two footbridges over Wesley Lake that connect to Asbury Park, every night between midnight and 5 am.  Asbury Park, led by councilwoman Eileen Chapman and activist Dani Boglivi Fiori, want Neptune to leave the gates open. Let’s explore the history for context.

Arnone: “Monmouth County Will Not Tolerate Substandard Work”

The East End Ave Bridge which connects Neptune City with the Shark River Hills section of Neptune Township will be closed next Weds., August 15 from 7 a.m. till 5 p.m. while faulty pavement is repaired.

The bridge was closed for 8 months, October 2017 through May of this year, for a $3.5 million refurbishment project.

11 year old boy called bomb threat into Neptune’s Walmart

An 11 year old boy is responsible for the bomb scare that prompted the evacuation of the Walmart store in Neptune Township last Sunday afternoon, Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni announced.

The store on Route 66 received a call at 1:07 p.m. on Palm Sunday stating the there was bomb in the store and suggesting it be evacuated.

Bomb dogs from the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office, Ocean County Sheriff’s Office, New Jersey Transit Police Department, and Middletown Police Department were deployed to assist the Neptune Township Police Department at the scene. The Neptune Township Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services were also deployed to the scene. Read the rest of this entry »

State Police Announce DWI Checkpoints in Belmar and Neptune Saturday Night

Don’t count of the Luck of the Irish to get you home if you drive to your St. Patrick’ Day shenanigans on Saturday.

If you’re celebrating the Irish in Belmar or Neptune Township, the New Jersey State Police will have DWI checkpoints in the area, according to their announcement on facebook.

Do yourself a favor and use Uber or Lyft.

Arnone Report: Over the river and through….

Happy December! I would like to wish everyone a happy holiday season. I hope everyone is able to enjoy time with their family and friends in between all of the shopping.

Personally, I was very pleased to see nearly 1,000 shoppers stopped by our annual Mini Made in Monmouth last weekend at Covered Bridge in Manalapan. A spinoff of our widely popular Made in Monmouth event held each spring at Monmouth University, this smaller version featured 80 small business owners selling their locally made products and goods. It is truly a win-win for all involved – small business owners receive the support they need and shoppers can purchase so many great items right in time for the holidays. Neptune double homicide victims identified

Frantz Paraison  37, of Neptune Township and Shaezeel Collins, 37, of Toms River were shot dead on the 500 block of Sayre Street on Friday afternoon. The Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office identified the victim in a statement on Saturday afternoon.

At about 4:30 p.m. Friday, Neptune Police responded to a 911 call for two gunshots victims.  Upon Officers arrival, they found Paraison and Collins inside a gray 2004 Acura MDX .   Read the rest of this entry »

Neptune Woman Charged With Murdering Her Boyfriend

police_car-300x142Monique Moore, 24, of Neptune was charged on Monday with 1st degree Murder in the stabbing death of Joseph A. Wilson, 29, according to Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher Gramiccioni.

Neptune Township Police responded to 911 calls reporting a stabbing at 1130 Heck Ave, Building 1 on Sunday night at 11:02.  Upon arriving on the scene at 11:06 officers located the gravely injured Wilson outside of the building. Police and Neptune EMS personnel administered live-saving efforts and transported Wilson to Jersey Shore Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 12:45 a.m. on Monday.
