Promise and Accomplishment: Hornik looks back on three terms and plans his fourth

When I was first elected Mayor, I detailed my ‘Plan for Progress…100 Days and Beyond’.  As a lifelong resident of Marlboro and business person, I stressed the need for investment in public safety and infrastructure including roads and open space preservation while getting our fiscal house in order.  Especially in light of the great recession and the severe storms which we weathered as a community, I am pleased that we have been able to accomplish as much as we have, and my focus for the next four years will be on these same critical areas.

Monmouth Democrat Chairman Dave Brown

Monmouth County Democrat Chairman Dave Brown really ought to do a better job of vetting his candidates.

NewJerseyGlobe reports that Brown has renounced his local candidates in Eatontown because of their illegal fundraising activities and because one of the candidates switched Parties to run.

Judge Orders Neptune Sicko To Stay Locked Up Till Trial

Prosecutor Asks Victims To Come Forward

Wayne M. Delhagen, 25, of Wayside Road in Neptune Township, was ordered to be held in custody until his trial for stalking, burglary and cyber stalking for women, according to an announcement by Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni.

The ruling by Judge Paul X. Escandon comes more than three months after the man was arrested and charged following a series of events that appear to have started after he harassed women through social media, ultimately breaking into the Neptune Township home of two of his female victims.

Arnone Report: Pound the Pavement for Purple

I’d like to focus on one topic in particular for this week’s letter and that is the upcoming Pound the Pavement for Purple 5k and 2-mile walk in Neptune and Neptune City this Saturday, October 12th. This annual race is presented by the Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders and the Neptune Township Committee.

Gopal needs to end his silence on Sager and Nelson

Senator Vin Gopal has been silent about the radical anti-cop, pro-narcotics views expressed by Jeana Sager and Moira Nelson, Democrat candidates for Middletown Township Committee and Monmouth County freeholder.

We gave the senator a pass for his silence when his successor as Monmouth Democrat Chairman, David Brown, condemned Sager’s declaration that cops are criminals.  Gopal was on his honeymoon, a trade mission to India with the Murphys, when that story broke.  But the honeymoon is over now that Nelson has been exposed and Brown has remained silent.

Hazlet Lawyer Arrested For Stealing $285,000 From Real Estate Clients

Steven H. Salami, 44, an attorney from Hazlet, was arrested Friday afternoon and charged with two counts of Misapplication of Entrusted Property, second degree crimes, and three counts of Misapplication of Entrusted Property, third degree crimes, after an investigation revealed he stole $285,000 from four victims from April, 2019 through August, 2019. Salami is a practicing attorney with a law office located in Hazlet, N.J.  Salami is currently being held in the Monmouth County Correctional Institution, Freehold, pending a detention hearing, according to an announcement by Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni.
