If turnout at pre-election rallies are an indicator of voter turnout, Anna Little will be the Congresswoman from the 6th district of New Jersey during the 112th Congress.
Last night at the Shore Casino in Atlantic Highlands some 300 Republicans, Tea Partiers and Independents rallied with Little, the Monmouth County ticket of Sheriff Shaun Golden, Freeholder candidates Rob Clifton and Tom Arnone and the Atlantic Highlands Council ticket of Lou Fligorand Jake Hoffman. Across the hall, 30 people (a generous estimate) mingled with Frank Palloneand the Monmouth County and Atlantic Highlands Democratric candidates.
300 are expected again tonight for the GOP team at Bachstadt’s in Middletown with Governor Christie. If the Monmouth Democrats are rallying tonight they won’t have a headliner. Presidents Obama and Clinton are elsewhere. Corzine wasn’t invited.
Turnout will be the key to victory. All signs point to a broken glass turnout for Republicans, i.e. Republican voters will crawl through broken glass to vote. There are no signs of Democratic voters being so motivated.
I’ve been worried about Plainfield where Democrats outnumber Republicans 12-1. Plainfield has been part of the district since the last census in 2000. Pallone has ignored it until very recently. There is no passion for Pallone in Plainfield.
Reading the popular blog Plainfield Today, I learned that the Democrats are divided there after a contentious primary where the “New Democrats” defeated the establishment lead by Assemblyman Jerry Green for the local offices. There is no competitive local race to boost turnout in Plainfield. That race was won in June and the anti-establishment sentiment prevailed. While there is reason to be cautiously optimistic about Plainfield, I still praying for a snow storm there and only there.
In Middlesex County, the Republicans are running their best campaign in memory. They have a legitimate shot of cracking the Democratic stronghold in that county which will boost both Little and NJ-12 candidate Scott Sipprelle.
Murray Sabrin says that if Little wins the GOP will pick up 100 seats in the House. I hope that happens. However, and I could be wrong, but from where I sit Little shocks everybody and defeats Frank Pallone by a larger margin than Scott Sipprelle defeats Rush Holt and by a larger margin than Jon Runyan defeats John Adler. There is no passion for Pallone. There is plenty of passion against Pallone. There is even more passion for Little.

The American dream has never been more distant. The divide between being creative, entrepreneurial and reaping a reward for your hard work has never been greater. It feels like times have quickly changed for the worse. One thing is clear, job losses are rampant and our economic forecast is about to get cloudier in the new year when the Bush tax cuts (that we have all benefited from) expire. The Democrat agenda of big government, big spending and punitive taxation is a historical failure and nearly all of us know someone who has been hurt by it. It’s time to stop blaming Bush. It’s time to hold our current legislators accountable for their defect spending votes, which have driven our economy off a cliff and into an abyss of mass unemployment and pervasive financial despair.
The largest tax increase in American history is on its way. The people responsible for it are still in power. The agenda of Rush Holt, Frank Pallone and Nancy Pelosi is too burdensome, it’s too costly and common sense tells you that it’s time to get rid of them and try something old, before it’s too late.
That’s right I said old. It’s time once again for commonsensical small government conservatism. Ronald Reagan once said, “We’ve tried spending our way to prosperity for more than four decades and it hasn’t worked. . .. Twice in this century, in the 1920’s and in the early 60’s we cut taxes substantially and the stimulant to the economy was substantial and immediate.” Reagan was right. He cut taxes substantially and up until recently we have been enjoying the prosperity that has flowed from his wise choice. That choice is yours once again.
In local elections do you always vote Democrat? Look around you. This election isn’t about political loyalties. This is about survival. 76% of you know someone who is looking for a job, according to Rasmussen Reports. Maybe you are out of work yourself or you had to take a job that you thought you’d never have to take again, just to make ends meet. You feel you’ve paid your dues and yet the poor political decisions made by an elite few have you starting at the bottom again. Democrats like Rush Holt and Frank Pallone have had total power over the federal government and yet they have been a complete failure.
Your vote for Anna Little or Scott Sipprelle is a vote against this political establishment. It is a vote against cronyism and special interest groups. It is a vote for small commonsensical government. In a conservative government maintaining individual liberty is of special interest.
17% percent of people in our community are under-employed. 1 in 10 among us are unemployed, despite an intrusive federal government. This election is about betrayal. Our representatives in Congress have betrayed us with their big government idealism that has favored: Wall Street bailouts, a trillion dollar stimulus bill, a trillion dollar overthrow of private healthcare, a trillion dollar omnibus bill, the complete nationalization of the student loan industry, federal funding for abortions. In total since Nancy Pelosi, Frank Pallone and Rush Holt have betrayed us to the tune of 5 trillion dollars since they took control of Congress.
So as you can see this isn’t just another election. This isn’t simply about Democrat or Republican. This is about common sense. Will you put back in office the very fools that have driven us to financial ruin or will you look back to better days, the days of small government Reagan Conservatism? Common sense tells me that Anna Little and Scott Sipprelle will be our next representatives in Congress.

Patrick Murray, director Monmouth University Polling Institute told the Wall Street Journal that Anna Little’s election to Congress from New Jersey’s 6th district “could well happen” in a piece published online today.
In New Jersey, 11-term Democratic Rep. Frank Pallone has seen his lead over the Republican tea-party favorite Anna Little narrow rapidly as undecided independents have broken in Ms. Little’s favor.
“If Little wins, it will represent a complete annihilation of the Democrats in this race, and it could well happen,” says Patrick Murray, who directs the state’s Monmouth University Polling Institute. Across the state, he said, “independents are going for Republicans more than I’ve ever seen before.”
Murray produced two widely quoted polls on the NJ-6 race earlier this month. The first had Frank Pallone leading Little by 12%, the second by 7%.
As the campaign moves into its final days, the Little’s grassroots fueled campaign is has caught the media’s attention. WNBC and MSNBC covered the race this week. Peggy Noonan featured Little in her widely read WSJ column earlier this week. Noonan’s weekly WSJ column is usually reprinted in the NY Post on Sunday. News12 hosted a debate, a “conversation” they called it, between the candidates last evening which will be rebroadcast tonight and tomorrow night at 8.
Notable exceptions to the media coverage of the NJ-6 race are the New Jersey daily newspapers and their websites. CNN’s website is relying on this blog, Poltickernj and Blue Jersey for its local election news in both the 6th and the 12th districts due to the dearth of coverage from APP.com, MyCentralJersey.com and NJ.com.

Just in the last month we had Toms River Regional School District Superintendent Michael Ritacco’s indictment for taking millions in kick backs. We’ve seen Frank Pallone, Steve Rothman, Robert Menendez and Frank Lautenberg put Americans’ health at risk in exchange for campaign contributions. We’ve seen Rush Holt exposed promulgating phony science to bamboozle Congress out of out of millions of dollars for his employer, the Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory.
There’s more material to come, perhaps as early as this afternoon. MMM is fact checking a tip on a pay to play scheme by a Monmouth County elected official who has a stack a soap boxes he’s broken while preaching against such behavior. We’re told the APP has had the same tip for a few days. We got it last night. Maybe they’re still fact checking too. Stay tuned.
(HIGHLANDS, October 28) – Republican Congressional challenger Anna Little today maintained her campaign’s focus on Frank Pallone’s recent silence on his role in the passage of the government takeover of health care, frequently referred to in New Jersey’s 6th Congressional District as “PalloneCare.””Back in the spring, when he thought it was going to be popular, my opponent infamously said of the government takeover of health care, ‘This is not Obama’s bill. This isn’t Nancy Pelosi’s bill. This is MY bill,'” said Little. “But now that the public has learned more about what’s in it, and it’s not nearly as popular as he thought it was going to be, he’s gone radio silent – why, his campaign web site’s ‘On the Issues’ section doesn’t even MENTION health care!”
“Sadly, this is not surprising,” said Little. “All we’ve heard from Frank Pallone is distortions of my views, rather than an explanation for the votes he cast for a failed trillion-dollar stimulus package, a failed cap and trade policy that would raise everyone’s electricity bills, and the government takeover of health care.
“Of course, it’s perfectly understandable – if I had cast a vote to cut Medicare by $500 billion, reduce patient choice, put government bureaucrats between doctors and their patients, and raise taxes, I probably wouldn’t want to draw attention to it, either.
“But that’s the big difference between Frank Pallone and me – I would never have cast that vote in the first place!
“In five days, New Jersey will vote, and we’ll have a chance to send a fresh face to Washington,” said Little.
“If you think we’re headed in the right direction, then Frank Pallone is your man,” said Little. “But if you think we’re moving in the wrong direction, if you think you’re ready for a change, then I need your vote – because you cannot change Washington without changing the people we send to Washington!”
