Scott Sipprelle Is Not Running For President

Neither is Sarah Palin

Governor Chris Christie is not the only Jersey Guy who announced yesterday that he is not running for president.  On the Real Jersey Guys Radio Show with former Senator Dick LaRossa and Art Gallagher yesterday afternoon, Scott Sipprelle, last years GOP nominee for Congress in the 12th Congressional District, said he’s not running either.

Following suit, former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin told Mark Levin that she’s also not running.

If you missed the show with Sipprelle, here’s a recording:

The Jennifer Beck Interview

beck-150x1501Senator Jennifer Beck came on The Real Jersey Guys Radio Show with former Senator Dick LaRossa and Art Gallagher on Tuesday afternoon.

Given all the comments the announcement of Beck’s appearance generated, we expected lots of calls to the show.  No calls.  What a bunch of kittens some of those keyboard commandos are. Kittens, kittens, kittens.

Jennifer addressed same sex marriage, of course, as well as fiscal policy, education reform, prevailing wage reform and several other issues.  She came across exactly as she is, friendly, forthright, knowledgeable and unflappable.

Here’s a recording of the show:

Senator Jennifer Beck Joins The Real Jersey Guys This Afternoon

beckSenator Jennifer Beck will be our guest on The Real Jersey Guys Radio Show this afternoon with former Senator Dick LaRossa and your favorite blogger.

Beck is one of the very few Republican legislators in New Jersey who has demonstrated independence from Governor Chris Christie.  She joined the Democrats in the Senate last May in voting to restore women’s health care funding in the state budget. More recently, she has said should would vote to override a Christie veto of same sex marriage if given the opportunity.

The show is broadcast on WIFI AM 1460 and here on the Internet from 5PM-6PM.  Your calls are welcome at 609-447-0236.

Real Jersey Bloggers On The Radio

This week’s Real Jersey Guys On The Radio Show will be different.

My partner former Senator Dick LaRossa has called in sick.

My young friend, Save Jersey founder Matt Rooney, has stepped up from being a guest to being the co-host.

After taking a year off from politics to work in the judicial branch of New Jersey government, Matt is back in the private sector practicing law and political punditry.  I’m glad he’s back.

Blue Jersey blogger Jay Lassiter will be calling in at about 5:15.  This will be a first for the show, being  joined  by a liberal Democrat, but it will be Real Jersey Radio.

You will want to hear it.  You will want to call in. We’ll be taking your calls at 609-447-0236.

The show is broadcast from 5PM-6PM on WIFI AM 1460 and here on the Internet.

The show is sponsored by Repatriot Radio.

Three Jersey Guys Talking Politics

Yesterday’s radio show is a lot of fun.  Just three Jersey Guys talking politics.

Fellow Monmouth County resident  Chris Kniesler joined Dick LaRossa and me in discussing this year’s legislative races, the 2012 Presidential race and next years NJ U.S. Senate race.

Chris made a presidential race prediction that stopped Dick in his tracks for a moment.  Dick, as is his custom, went off about the courts when Chris announced that the Third District Court ordered Carl Lewis back onto the LD 8 ballot, and I got on a roll about one of my favorite targets…the NJ media.

Ian Linker is the only declared candidate for the GOP nomination for the U.S. Senate race against Senator Robert Menendez next year.  If Linker gets enough signatures to get on the primary ballot he is likely to face State Senators Joe Kyrillos and Mike Doherty in a race for the nomination.  Former Roxbury Mayor Tim Smith is also acting like a potential candidate.

We had a good conversation with Ian, challenging him on why he is starting his political career at such a high level and on his fund raising ability.  I’ll say this for Linker, the $3950 he’s raised so far is more money than Anna Little has raised in her fledgling quest for a rematch against Frank Pallone.

I don’t believe that Linker has a remote chance to be the nominee, and I told him so.  I even bet him dinner at any restaurant in the country, including travel expenses,  that he would not win the party line from any county in the state for the primary.  He took the bet (after the show via facebook), which proves to me he’s gotten in over his head.   I’m looking forward to dinner at Latitudes in Sunset Key on Linker.

Yet, I give Ian a great deal of credit for entering the arena and fighting to make a difference.  I hope his passion survives the ordeal he has chosen.

Listen to the first half hour of the show.  Maybe I’m wrong about Linker.

During the second half hour Oceanport Councilman Joe Irace joined us with an enlightening and informative conservation that included comments on the utter lack of representation Monmouth County gets in the House of Representation from Frank Pallone and Rush Holt, the difference Irace and his colleagues on the Oceanport governing body were able to make, with the help of Senator Jennifer Beck, regarding the establishment of the Fort Monmouth Redevelopment Authority, and the predicament New Jersey’s Horse Racing Industry and Monmouth Park in particular face in these challenging economic times.

Irace makes a compelling case for VLT’s, slots, in the Meadowlands.

Enjoy the show.

Next week, Tuesday the 30th between 5PM and 6PM, our guest will be political strategist Mike DuHaime.  DuHaime is to Governor Christie as Karl Rove was to President George W. Bush and David Axlerod is to President Barack Obama.

We’ll be talking about the 2012 presidential race.   You won’t want to miss that show which will be broadcast on WIFI AM 1460 and on the Internet here.
