A 3.1 magnitude earthquake occurred near Freehold, NJ at about 2 am on September 9, 2020, according to USGS.
The event is considered minor. Property damage and injuries are not expected.

I hope everyone had a happy and safe Labor Day Weekend! A new school year is officially upon us and though it may look different than past school years, we still must be extra cautious when driving around our communities!
It’s always important – and especially now that children are back in school – that everyone obeys speed limits, stops for pedestrians and avoids distractions when driving. It’s also important that pedestrians and children walking to school use crosswalks or cross at intersections and wait for the walk signal before stepping into the road.

Arturo Munoz, 25, of Elmhurst, NY was arrested for possession of marijuana in the Middletown Police Department parking lot on Saturday.
Munoz apparently didn’t get the memo that de Blasio doesn’t run Middletown. After parking next to a police vehicle Munoz told Patrolman Daniel Flannigan, who noted the strong odor of raw unburnt marijuana, that the drug was in his vehicle.

Thousands gathered in support of Law Enforcement Officers, U.S. Military Veterans and President Donald J. Trump on Saturday in a boat parade on Barnegat Bay. The flotilla is estimated to have drawn 2,000-2,500 boats carrying 2-10 people each and thousands of spectators along the shoreline and on bridges that span the bay.
The organizers of the event, Chris and Mary Kate Molla of Manhawken, Stafford Township Councilman George Williams and the members of the Jersey Shore Boaters, LEO Support and Vets for Trump facebook group were aiming to set a world record for boat parades.

General election ballots is some parts of New Jersey will be in the mail next week, but Hirsh Singh, a loser in the July 7th Republican U.S. Senate primary, is still fighting to get the Rik Mehta’s nomination to take on Senator Cory Booker overturned.
Singh hasn’t been able to get a Superior Court Judge in any New Jersey County to authorize a recount of the primary results. Yet, this morning he announced that he has filed an official contest of the primary.
