Trump-haters need to understand something… Growing up in New Jersey, I remember what New York City was like in the 70s and 80s. Rudy Giuliani went in there and cleaned it up and made it safe for everyone. Rudy was a brilliant politician, though I think when he was mayor he was on his third wife. But I didn’t support Giuliani for my father, I supported him for mayor because he got the job done.
Senator John McCain was an extraordinarily brave and noble man—a hero—a dedicated husband, father, fighter pilot, and an amazing lawmaker. He endured and overcame unspeakable horrors as a POW, and as a lawmaker never ceased working for members of our armed forces and veterans. And on matters of principle and conviction, Senator McCain was fiercely independent, always willing—even eager—to bend into the wind and not with it.
My wife Marie and I will always cherish and deeply respect the incomparable Senator John McCain. Our prayers go out to his Cindy and his entire family.

I hope everyone is having a great summer! I cannot believe we’re just a few weeks away from Labor Day!
The Monmouth County Department of Public Works and Engineering has been extremely busy this summer working on numerous projects throughout the county. As liaison to this department, I am happy to report on the status of several of these projects. I would also like to thank our County employees who worked long hours to repair numerous bridges and roadways damaged during last week’s rain event. It is because of their hard work that nearly all bridges damaged during the storm have since been re-opened.
