Neptune Nudniks: Pass the American Jobs Act. Now.
The Asbury Park Press Editorial Board opined to its declining readership that President Obama’s American Jobs Act should be passed now.
The problem with that is that is that the bill hasn’t been written yet. Obama launched his reelection campaign in earnest Thursday night in an address to a joint session of congress that proposed a 1/2 trillion in spending. He said it would be paid for, but didn’t say how.
Congressman Dennis Kucinich, hardly a Tea Party radical “determined to dismantle government and its vital programs piece by piece” said he would have to see the bill before deciding whether to vote for or against it.
I never would have thought that I’d be writing that Kucinich exhibits more sanity than my hometown newspaper.
What a joke the APP is? So sloppy and so irresponsible. Btw, is Dustin Raccioppi gone from there already? I saw an article on Red Bank Green yesterday with his name as a by-line.
Is this another “Nancy Pelosi Moment, Where We Have To Pass The Bill To Know What’s In It?”
Congressman Dennis Kucinich should run against Obama in a democrat primary. At least, even though a leftie, he seems to be honest.
Good point – Freespeaker –
The President knows that the weak Republicans will automatically cave under political pressure regardless of the facts or the legislation. So, he will continue to use the Nancy Pelosi approach – you’ve got to pass it to get a chance to read it – because it works.
The good news is that we will have the needed 51% to get rid of him next year – unless he funds a third party to the tune of several $million.
I just hope that NJ can send a few extra decent legislators to Washington at the same time.
and have just forgotten to lie down and die, with their old news and sloppy work, for good.. taking the “Asbury Park” out of their masthead was another nail in their coffin.. charging $1.00 a day now, is both arrogant and crazy,as well!..the only day I buy it,for the shoppers’coupons, is Sunday, at a dollar store, so they don’t get an outrageous, unwarranted,$2.00!.. please call your legislators and ask their support for the bill that allows public entities to stop wasting money by being forced to put all Public Notices in the paper: it’s 2011, we only need them on the official website of each entity: they won’t make it on just the car dealers and real estate agencies, holding their coveted election “endorsements” over the heads of thin-skinned and ego-centric politicians, doesn’t cut it, any more!
Re: “the bill hasn’t been written yet”
Our leader said it would take him a week to propose it. Don’t rush him. He says he has been mightily busy.
