Barbara’s Tea Party Group co-founder Barbara Gonzalez announced on her APP blog that she approves of the Monmouth GOP’s nominations of Anthony Wilkinson in CD-6 and Rich Pezzullo for U.S. Senate.

Barbara’s Tea Party Group says they will work with Republicans to save the nation, so long as the Republicans do as BTPG says and nominates candidates that pass their litmus tests.

Barbara’s Tea Party Group says that “we ALL agree that Booker and Pallone must go” so long as they are replaced with candidates that meet their muster. Otherwise, Booker and Pallone can stay?

That the BSTP and other Tea Party groups around this country have turned into the same people they are (were) trying to fight…lobbyist. They DO NOT respect the democratic process of an election. Take last year for example. After being boldozed in the primary county wide and in LD-13, what did they do? Sat around and acted like little children because they didn’t get their way and refused to vote for who THE PEOPLE CHOSE in the democratic process called an ELECTION! This “our way or the highway” mentality is what gave Obama his second term. People like Babs and her “organization” are big contributors to the demise of this country. The word compromise does not exsit to them. They can hide behind the American flag all they want, bottom line is they want this country to fail just as much as the democrats do. They are what’s wrong with this country. Oh and they DON’T know how to win general elections. Until they can, they have no merit and simply an organization of people with no lives who likes to hear themselves talk. They make me sick. They had my support, but the childish way they’ve been displaying, lost it a long time ago. And here’s the million dollar question Art. If they hate the republican establishment so much, why did they even bother showing up to the convention yesterday? Hypocrites comes to mind. I leave it at that.
The fact remains. The Tea Party, a concept I agree with 100%, has spent more time attacking Republicans than fighting the Obamas, Pallones, Reids, Pelosis, Durbins and other America-hating, left wing Democrats. They would rather attack the people who vote the way they want 90% of the time over the 10% they vote differently than fight the traitors who are wrong 100% of the time. In the bluest of states like NJ, instead of trying to educate the voters why Tea Party principles are best for the country and for their lives, they attack Republicans who are fortunate to get elected in a state where there are 700,000 more Dems than Reps. For all the time they have been involved, the BSTP hasn’t learned a thing.
Hmmm…
Twice in two days I am seconding comments.
Thanks “The Fact” & “Well Said” for taking the words out of my mouth and saving me some keystrokes
If we can find a candidate who can reconcile the Tea Party and the Regular Republicans-which the article suggests Rich Pezzullo is the man to do- the Republicans would be a force to be reckoned with. When we’re divided, we all lose. But if the two factions come together, this race becomes winnable.
The Republicans have tried to embrace the Tea Party and the BSTP. The newly elected chairman put the BSTP founder Miss Babs on his executive committee. He sponsored an event for the “Tea Party Approved” and twice failed Congressional Candidate Anna Little. The Monmouth County GOP has extended their arms and tried to embrace the tea party wing of our party. When will the BSTP embrace the GOP or as they put it the “establishment?” There is only so much one party can bend before one has said they’ve had enough. If Miss Babs and her little followers (shrinking mind you) would like to start actually winning a general election, they should maybe start listening to the people who can actually WIN a general election.
They are relevant in their own minds.
Enough said
Has Bayshore Bulldog endorsed the slate yet? I mean, it would be just gosh darn silly of us to support anything that little darling of the blogosphere doesn’t support.
My gosh, I am waiting in baited anticipation of his lovely pronouncements.
But in reality Mr. Pezzulo & Mr. Wilkenson, RUN FAST, as far as you can from ye ole Bayshore Tea Party Group for surely my friends, they are the kiss of death indeedy.
Signed,
Silence Dogood, Redux
Ok which one of you are laughing??
I don’t know enough about Wilkinson or Pezzullo to offer my full support. I suppose if they have the support of Tea Party leadership that will be good enough for me, at least for now. Anyway, I’ll keep an open mind. But I’ll be watching, and waiting, along with many other Conservative Liberty-Loving Citizen Patriots, to see whether they adhere to the Constitutional Principles this country was founded upon and which made it great. If they start to stray and begin pandering to the RINOs, Christiecrats, and the rest of the Political Establishment that keeps taxing and spending our way into oblivion, the same RINO and Christiecrat politicians that want to give free passes and college tuition to alien invaders, then all bets are off and it will be time to look at other options like voting third party or a write-in campaign for a real Conservative Independent candidate.
Same anonymous. Rich Pezzullo is a Monmouth County committeeman, so the tea party should have written him off as another establishment guy. But the fact that they’re embracing the Monmouth GOP again thanks to him shows that this guy is up to the task of bringing the party back together. His primary opponents have no interest in bringing the party together- Murray Sabrin is anti-establishment (he’s failed to appear at at least 2 county conventions) and Brian Goldberg is trying as hard as he can to be the favorite son of the establishment (his Twitter bio describes him as “an establishment Republican), but has no interest in embracing other factions. I applaud Pezzullo for bringing the BSTP back to being a positive force for Monmouth County. I’m going with him in this Senate primary.
Bayshore Bulldog illustrates the kind of dangerous thinking we all need to be worried about, the my way or the highway attitude of Barbara’s Tea Party Group.
I question it and her
in power too long” record with my comments under her blog:

I found this article titled ” Give me an imperfect Republican over a ‘perfect’ Democrat any day” quite relevant in light of Ms. Gonzalez’s comment above and I quote ” If we can agree on a candidate we can work together.” Is Ms. Gonzolez saying that if the candidate is not to Barbara’s Tea Party Group’s liking, they will sit on their hands to the detriment of an even a marginally better candidate than a Democrat?

Herman Cain was a Tea Party favorite, wasn’t he? Maybe Barbara’s Tea Party Group should do a little more listening and wising up.
I continue:
One more thought, does Barbara’s Tea Party Group have term limits? I mean, she has been in charge of it so long and with so many failures that it isn’t time for fresh leadership. Or is it that which she fights; tyranny has taken hold? Interesting question.
I respect Barbara Gonzalez as the leader of the Tea Party in Monmouth County, and her support for Pezzullo/Wilkinson is very important. But I am not a “Teabot” nor are any of the other Liberty-Loving Citizen Patriots I know of. We have elections for a reason, and this is not the Soviet Union where a handful of Party Apparatchiks can tell us who to support and who we have to vote for. Like many other voters in the GOP primary I will keep my powder dry and wait to see what the other candidates do and say. Then I will make my decision and act accordingly.
Who gives a flying f@#! what Gonzalez thinks?
First, this “Citizen Patriot” label is wearing thin. It’s getting to sound a bit elitist to me, that you folks are better than others. Same with this “Constitutionally Certified” line. There is n0 such program to certify people as such. It is a label that divides people, much like the liberals divide people into classes of victims. Both are elitist labels.
And no longer are so called “Party Apparatchiks” telling you who to vote for. It was an open convention, and there will certainly be a primary. All are allowed to participate
The question is, will you and Barbara’s Tea Party Group sit on their hands for the general election if the candidate selected by the voters is not the one you want.
That kind of thinking reinforces my article above from Herman Cain and illustrates the my way or the highway absolutist and closed minded thinking of Barbara’s Tea Party Group.
After all, Barbara’s Tea Party Group is just a TINY, and I do emphasize TINY portion of the NJ electorate. So, who is she to tell others what to do?
If she does not support the will of the people, maybe Barbara needs to be the one who is on the outs.
Mind you…
“It’s not personal, it’s business.” It pragmatism and reality in NJ. Nor is it about any personal disagreement with Constitutional Conservatism and Tea Party Ideals. I am FOR growing such a movement.
I for one know, if you get too close to the fire, you get blinded. And, it is unrealistic to wear rose colored glasses forever.
One of the things I learned becoming a bit of a photographer, is that if you step back, you see things that were hidden from you.
What I am about is suggesting that it is time for Barbara & Frank to step WAY back to see things from a different prospective, and let other leaders rise to the surface.
That’s why founders of a company eventually bring in executives that know how to grow a company. Right now, I hear that Barbara’s Tea Party Group is shrinking, rather than growing a movement.
Jim Granelli
Have you people condemming Ms. Gonsalez and BTPG LOST YOUR MINDS? We in the Tea Party Movement have been doublecrossed, lied to (I personally HATE THAT) insulted and demeaned by Dems and GOP also so you can excuse us for not genuflecting at the GOP altar.
The NJ GOP FIGHTS Tea Party Activists’ with a vigor and nastiness THAT WE DON’T SEE AGAINST DEMOCRATS. Maybe if you stopped the cheap shots and insults we could work together. I was in MASS. for the Scott Brown campaign and donated one entire appearance on FOX NEWS seeing and making one point. WHEN THE TEA PARTY AND GOP work together we are a formidable political force. EITHER CONTRIBUTE to saving this nation and defeating the DNC criminals or Shut-up. If you can help in the fight for America we cherish and value your contributions. If you have ulterior motives and attack Tea Party activists, YOU ARE PART OF THE DNC PROBLEM.
If I have the time I will address this on the radio show tonight. FIGHT THE DNC, not the Tea Party.

Wow, obsessed much here? It’s like damned if I do and damned if I don’t.
As a Republican I fight for the candidate I want in our drivers seat, I believe we all do that. We just don’t nod to our party leaders and say you choose for me because I don’t have a brain. No, we speak up and out about our choices and at times we have to rant and rave to be heard over the din of the leadership because they seem to not hear the membership – but that’s all part of the process, right?
What I don’t understand is why Ms. Gonzalez or even the BSTP group itself are suppose to be treated any different then the rest of us? Why aren’t they accorded the same rights to speak up and out as we all expect to have?
Mr. Granelli, the only dangerous thinking I see here are from people who believe the rules only apply to some and not others. I see nothing wrong with anyone saying they will work with the party as long as the choice is palatable…I say it all the time, who doesn’t? I’m sure if somehow a Bookerish type of person ended up as a option on your ballot you’d certainly have something to say to our leadership about it now wouldn’t you? Who’s to say what tastes Bookerish to others? Me, you? I don’t think so.
Sorry Mr. Garnelli, but again I believe the more dangerous thinking people here are you and those who seem a bit obsessed.
Mark we dont want you “genuflecting at the GOP altar. ” We just want You and Babs to hit the road. You are NOT Republicans! You are members of the Tea Party. Run your own candidates and NOT in our primary!
Run in the general if you have the guts!
Oh by the way – You have been lied to? That’s rich – John Bennet gives you wackos a seat at the table and what do you do? You Primary the candidates chosen by the county committee!!!
Run your own candidates and leave the Republican Party (that you hate so much)!
