Chaos in Charlotte

A divided Democratic National Convention amended the platform they had adopted just yesterday to reassert the party’s commitment that Jerusalem be the the capitol of Israel and that God is the source of American values.

The amendment was offered by former Ohio Governor Ted Stickland who served as the chair of the platform committee.

The convention’s by-laws require a 2/3 vote to amend the platform.  Convention Chairman Antonio R. Villaraigosa, the mayor of Los Angelos, called for a voice vote three times before he declared that the motion to amend the platform had passed.

Does it look/sound like a 2/3’s majority to you?

The New York Times reports that opposition to the Jerusalem amendment came from Majid Al-Bahadli, an Iraqi-American who is a delegate from Washington.  Al-Bahadli spent time as a prisoner of war during the first Gulf War for taking up American calls to rebel against Saddam Hussein.

@CoryBooker, the co-chair of the platform committee, has yet to explain why “God” and “Jerusalem” were omitted in the first place.

  1. The DNC Shoved It Down The Throats Of The Delegates said at 7:08 pm on September 5th, 2012:

Just as The Thug In Chief shoved Obummercare down our throats. There was not a 2/3 acceptance of the amendment, there was barely a half acceptance and IMHO, the vote was AGAINST.

But this is what a party, led by a thug politician does to people.

This convention will come down as an unmitigated DISASTER for Obummer. This charade about God & Jerusalem, the phoney positions and lies, as well as no ability to find people to listen to The Dear Leader’s acceptance speech are not good signs.

I’ll stand by what I said earlier which is that both party’s should keep this out of their platforms since the final staus of Jerusalem is going to be determined in negotiations.

Both the D’s and R’s have had chances to move the US embasy to Jerusalem (Bush promised to do it ealry in his presidency) but once they are in office they don’t unilaterally do it.

  4. Proud Republican said at 10:49 pm on September 5th, 2012:

The Democrat convention is an embarrassment. I’m watching Monica’s boyfriend talk about everything except the Muslim in the White House’s record. These guy’s offer nothing except how wonderful government is, how we must “invest” in this and that (translation – spend more tax money), how loud they can boo the inclusion of God and Jerusalem in their platform. Get the ads ready Mitt, they gave you quite an arsenal.

  5. Bob English said at 11:07 pm on September 5th, 2012:

You must have missed the part when Clinton said that 4.2 milllion jobs have been created in the last 29 months under Obama who inherrited an economy that was losing 750,00 jobs a month…maybe Romeny can use that in his arsenal.

  6. Proud Republican said at 11:17 pm on September 5th, 2012:

Oh please, this guy is pulling numbers out of his butt. The last time I saw such blatant lies was when someone, not sure who it was, looked into the camera and said, “I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Ms. Lewinsky.” Just wait Bobby until the Republicans take Slick Willie’s babble apart. I especially like when he prefaces everything with, “Ok, now listen closely to me” like he’s talking to a bunch of idiotic little kids. Embarrassing.

The unemployment/employment numbers President Clinton mentioned are 100% true.

More Hate: If you want it list every idiotic thing people say why don’t you include stuff from the Republicans/far right since you have loads of material to pick from.

Will You Condemn This Button Bob?

Will You: I’ll make a deal with you..since you have shown zero credibility in not condembing even one Republican campaign lie, I will condem that campaign button on the condition that you condem the Romeny and Romney campaign lie about Obama trying to cut voting hours for the military in Ohio. We now know that it was the Republicans who cut pre election voting (and blame it on Obama) and it was the Obama campaign that fought in the courts and won to have pre election voting restored…even though the Republican Secretary of State is still appealing the case.

  15. When I Am Done Pummeling You Lil Bobbie said at 1:54 pm on September 6th, 2012:

on everything else, I will get to look at the facts on Ohio and look at who said what. Right now, I am having so much fun playing “whack a mole” with the lib constituency here, exposing every fraud and side step that you guys do.

In line with that, we’ve thrown dozens upon dozens of inconsistencies your way and you throw out dribble.

You continue to support this flacid “out of context” thing on “You Didn’t Build That” so you libs have a loooooooooooooooooong way to go apologizing and condemning all of the hate and lies from The Dear Leader’s campaign.

BTW, It was so great having Clinton speak last night. First, while no one saw him (.9 or less share rating) it gave us great points to compare how much of a failure Obummer is.

BTW, the pummeling will continue well past election day so you better order more dancing shoes.

  16. Bob English said at 2:04 pm on September 6th, 2012:

Your credibility is zero and your head is buried deep in the sand if you can not admit what eveyone else found our two weeks ago about Ohio pre-election voting….Romeny LIED

  17. I Just Don't Have Time Or Need To Look At It Bobbie said at 2:17 pm on September 6th, 2012:

    I’m “BUILDING” A Business.

EVEN IF Romney & Team were wrong, it is far outweighed by “Romney is a felon, a murderer,” keeps his money in the Caymens (Obama’s trust does so as well, along with John Kerry’s wife) DNC official after DNC official calling Republicans Nazis.

It is far outweighed by “Vote Black” campaign buttons and the Obummer campaign playing the race card at every turn. It is outweighed by the fiasco of the Democrats not only removing God & Jerusalem from the platform, BUT THEIR LACK OF DEMOCRACY PUTTING IT BACK IN despite it clearly not having a 2/3 majority.

It is far outweighed by the vision of people BOOING God at the convention. It is far outweighed by Holder dismissing the case against the Philadelphia New Black Panthers and the lowest approval rating of any President at the time of their inauguration.

I ain’t interested in the Ohio voting matter, I am interested in the economy “stupid” an issue that Obummer has FAILED MISERABLY on.

IT’S ABOUT 16 TRILLION IN DEBT AND 8.3% UNEMPLOYMENT…don’t bet against the administration rigging those numbers too for tomorrow morning.

These are but a few things that outweigh the Ohio issue, things that YOU really ought to be dealing with rather than harping on a canard.

That’s my stake to credibility Bobbie Boy.

    Get real will ya?

Is that Lil Bobbie seems to forget that right now “it’s the economy stupid,” you know that 3 letter word that Plugs Biden spoke about…

What the left is resorting to is picking around the edges and attacking things that are not the primary issues in our country right now.

Because their Dear Leader has nothing to run on. He’s stale and out of touch as last night speech showed.

  36. Bob English said at 8:31 am on September 7th, 2012:

Is today the day you take your head out of the sand “to look at the facts in Ohio?”…or is your head burried to deeply to come out today??? Maybe we can all pitch in for a shovel to help dig you out.

My offer still stands. If you can condem the fact that Romeny and his campaign were lying about who was trying to cut pre-election voting in Ohio than I will condem the campaign button that you posted the photo of.

Its a good thing for Romeny that you are not giving him advice since even the R’s realize that not mentioning the troops in his convention speech was a huge mistake.

  37. TR said at 10:10 am on September 7th, 2012:

Maybe Romney did not lie maybe he was just misinformed or had a different perspective or his comment was taken out of context. Maybe nobody gives a crap and we should just talk about policy differences and we should all stop trying to demonize the other side. Niether side is intrinsically evil. Both parties have nut jobs in them and there are very clear policy differences between the two parties. Both candidates have diametrically opposed views. Really you all need to stop with the bullshit, Rick, Brian, Bob and whoever the rest of you. For the love of God just stop.

  38. @TR said at 12:51 pm on September 7th, 2012:

TR, I do respect your thoughts and wish we could be there with just addressing the issues.

The problem is that the left is SO unhinged that all they can do is distract and lie, play the race card and divide the country.

They snipe about unimportant issues like the Ohio case, they refuse to answer on point and side step around the issues. My feeling is that until they are constantly confronted with the the truth to the point where they start thinking rationally, they will continue to believe the lies.

They don’t want to engage on the issues. They continue to do that little “Side Step” dance as done by the career politician played by Charles Durning in The Little Whorehouse In Texas.

    With Respect,

    “Whoever You Are”
