Chaos in Charlotte

A divided Democratic National Convention amended the platform they had adopted just yesterday to reassert the party’s commitment that Jerusalem be the the capitol of Israel and that God is the source of American values.

The amendment was offered by former Ohio Governor Ted Stickland who served as the chair of the platform committee.

The convention’s by-laws require a 2/3 vote to amend the platform.  Convention Chairman Antonio R. Villaraigosa, the mayor of Los Angelos, called for a voice vote three times before he declared that the motion to amend the platform had passed.

Does it look/sound like a 2/3’s majority to you?


 

 

The New York Times reports that opposition to the Jerusalem amendment came from Majid Al-Bahadli, an Iraqi-American who is a delegate from Washington.  Al-Bahadli spent time as a prisoner of war during the first Gulf War for taking up American calls to rebel against Saddam Hussein.

@CoryBooker, the co-chair of the platform committee, has yet to explain why “God” and “Jerusalem” were omitted in the first place.

    Just as The Thug In Chief shoved Obummercare down our throats. There was not a 2/3 acceptance of the amendment, there was barely a half acceptance and IMHO, the vote was AGAINST.

    But this is what a party, led by a thug politician does to people.

    This convention will come down as an unmitigated DISASTER for Obummer. This charade about God & Jerusalem, the phoney positions and lies, as well as no ability to find people to listen to The Dear Leader’s acceptance speech are not good signs.

    I’ll stand by what I said earlier which is that both party’s should keep this out of their platforms since the final staus of Jerusalem is going to be determined in negotiations.

    Both the D’s and R’s have had chances to move the US embasy to Jerusalem (Bush promised to do it ealry in his presidency) but once they are in office they don’t unilaterally do it.

These guy’s offer nothing except how wonderful government is, how we must “invest” in this and that (translation – spend more tax money), how loud they can boo the inclusion of God and Jerusalem in their platform. Get the ads ready Mitt, they gave you quite an arsenal.

    It is far outweighed by “Vote Black” campaign buttons and the Obummer campaign playing the race card at every turn. It is outweighed by the fiasco of the Democrats not only removing God & Jerusalem from the platform, BUT THEIR LACK OF DEMOCRACY PUTTING IT BACK IN despite it clearly not having a 2/3 majority.

    It is far outweighed by the vision of people BOOING God at the convention. It is far outweighed by Holder dismissing the case against the Philadelphia New Black Panthers and the lowest approval rating of any President at the time of their inauguration.

    I ain’t interested in the Ohio voting matter, I am interested in the economy “stupid” an issue that Obummer has FAILED MISERABLY on.

    IT’S ABOUT 16 TRILLION IN DEBT AND 8.3% UNEMPLOYMENT…don’t bet against the administration rigging those numbers too for tomorrow morning.

    These are but a few things that outweigh the Ohio issue, things that YOU really ought to be dealing with rather than harping on a canard.

    That’s my stake to credibility Bobbie Boy.

    The problem is that the left is SO unhinged that all they can do is distract and lie, play the race card and divide the country.

    They snipe about unimportant issues like the Ohio case, they refuse to answer on point and side step around the issues. My feeling is that until they are constantly confronted with the the truth to the point where they start thinking rationally, they will continue to believe the lies.

    They don’t want to engage on the issues. They continue to do that little “Side Step” dance as done by the career politician played by Charles Durning in The Little Whorehouse In Texas.
