Former Monmouth County Freeholder did not interview with the Monmouth County Republican Screening Committee as scheduled this weekend. His name will not appear on the ballot for the nomination for U.S. Senate at the Monmouth GOP nominating convention on Saturday, February 8, according to Chairman Shaun Golden.
Golden told MMM that Rich initially confirmed his attendance at the Saturday morning interview and that an email from his campaign on Friday cancelled his appearance.

As a practitioner of public opinion polling, I’ve studied, poked and analyzed opinions for more than 25 years. I’ve learned and grown to appreciate how fickle and malleable opinions can be. I’ve also come to understand through opinion research, why President Trump is playing a winning hand going into 2020 and why he is better positioned for victory than you might think.
Mr. Trump isn’t playing the opinion game. He is playing on a different field. He is playing on beliefs and values. And his opponents are all too happy to assist him.

Congressman Chris Smith issued the following statement regarding the Mueller report:
“After almost two years of vigorous investigation, Special Counsel Robert Mueller—aided by 19 lawyers, about 40 FBI agents, intelligence analysts, forensic accountants and others—has found that there was no collusion whatsoever by President Trump (or anyone associated with his campaign) with the Russians to influence the 2016 election. This vindication is good news for America, not so good for the credibility of those who insisted on an almost daily basis that there was ample evidence which demonstrated that the President was guilty of collusion. In the end, Mueller’s Report proves that the truth matters. False charges should have no place in American politics.”
Congressman Chris Smith today announced that the $101.57 million in funding for projects scheduled at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst this year is safe from being diverted to fund the southern border security projects covered by President Donald Trump’s Emergency Declaration of February 15.
“These projects are not at risk,” Smith said after having been assured by the Department of Defense that awards for anticipated construction at the Joint Base are on schedule to be awarded in the current fiscal year. “Nothing at the Joint Base will be cut.”
No matter the category, the answer is always Donald Trump to the liberal media and late night talk show “comedians.” All they need to do is figure out the question.
The latest foray into insanity was CNN’s blaming Trump for the disaster in New Zealand. There is so much wrong with that, it is difficult to know where to begin. The attack on the mosque in New Zealand is unacceptable. It is a tragedy. It is a further example of a world moving away from the civilization we thought had grown since World War II. That it would be exploited by anyone for political purposes is disgusting. That it is exploited by an organization claiming to be a “news” organization is not just reprehensible, it is a red flag that major changes are needed, beginning with the complete remaking of our media institutions.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said that President Donald Trump will sign legislation to fund the government that includes much less funding for a wall for the southern border than he wants and simultaneously declare a national emergency to empower him to secure the border without funding authorized by congress, according to a report at The Hill.
