Kim Guadagno will be elected the 56th Governor of New Jersey by less than 2000 votes.
The Associated Press will not call the NJ gubernatorial race until Thursday due to the failure of the vote reporting systems in Essex, Hudson, Camden and Middlesex counties which will prevent the vote from being counted. CNN and NJ.com will report rumors that the New Jersey election was hacked by the Russians.
Steve Sweeney will survive the millions spent against his reelection by the NJEA. The teachers’ union will lose considerable influence in Trenton and its membership will revolt against leadership and reform the association. Guadagno and Sweeney will have a stronger and more effective reform agenda than Christie and Sweeney had during the first Christie’s term. Read the rest of this entry »

All three seats in the 13th legislative district appear to be up for grabs next year.
If published reports are to believed, Assembly Members Amy Handlin and Declan O’Scanlon are heading for a primary in June for the GOP nomination to succeed Senator Joe Kyrillos in the New Jersey Senate.
If both Handlin and O’Scanlon compete on the June ballot, rather than letting the County Committee members choose a nominee at a convention, both Assembly seats will be vacant.

By Freeholder Serena DiMaso
This year’s election season doesn’t carry with it the big ticket names for President or even Governor, but in Monmouth County and Holmdel it certainly does. Freeholder Director Lillian Burry and Deputy Director Gary Rich have worked diligently for the residents of our county. In Holmdel, our Mayor Pat Impreveduto and Committeeman Greg Buontempo mirror that work ethic and continue to deliver the best quality of life for our beautiful community.
Any one who knows me, knows how often I tell the story of why I chose Holmdel and Monmouth County. BUT, in case you haven’t heard, here’s the short version, we wanted a place we could raise our children and they could raise their children. We wanted a community that boasted the best school systems, park systems and quality of life in all of New Jersey. We found it. It’s all right here in Holmdel Township, Monmouth County. Why? Because of the leadership of the Monmouth County Board of Freeholders and the Holmdel Township Committee.

Holmdel Mayor Pat Impreveduto
Mayor Patrick Impreveduto, Deputy Mayor Eric Hinds, Township Committeeman Greg Buontempo, Joe Ponisi and Municipal Chairwoman Marcy McMullin and Vice Chairman Tom Scarano, are supporting Shaun Golden for Monmouth county Republican Chairman
Shaun Golden’s energy and interest in Monmouth County is evident in his enthusiastic approach to leadership. Shaun’s keen sense of community devotion is consistently demonstrated by his involvement with municipalities at the local level-either by appearing at events or regularly communicating with township officials.“Shaun’s distinguishing attribute is that he communicates a clear desire to offer help or assistance by calling me directly and often”, stated Impreveduto
“In my opinion, communication is paramount to any leadership position. I’m sure he will use this skill and many more to lead the Republican Party of Monmouth County as GOP Chairman,” Impreveduto added.
We are urging all Holmdel Republican County Committee members to follow our lead and support Shaun Golden on June 10th.
We would be remiss if we didn’t thank, Chairman John Bennett for the hard work he has done to continue to make Monmouth County the leading Republican county in the State of New Jersey.
“But at this time we feel Shaun is the right man for the job”.

Holmdel Republican Chairwoman Marcy McMullen announced today that two term Township Committeeman Dr. Rocco Pascucci had withdrawn his candidacy for Township Committee. McMullen said that Pascucci would be replaced on the ballot by Greg Buontempo, Vice-Chairman of the Township Planning Board .
“Rocco has been a passionate advocate for fiscal responsibility and preserving the character of Holmdel,” said McMullen. “I’m sure I join many others in thanking him for his service to the Township and wishing him Godspeed in his future endeavors.”
McMullen said that in his withdrawal letter, Pascucci said his office spend the next year transitioning to an electronic record keeping system required by recent federal healthcare reforms which would take up much of his time and not allow him to serve the Township in the manner he would like.
“If you know Rocco, you know he doesn’t do anything halfway,” said McMullen.
McMullen called Buontempo an impressive candidate. “Greg is a smart, successful guy and a real go-getter. He shares the Holmdel Republican commitment to keeping the budget under control and preserving the character of Holmdel. When there’s work to be done, he’s the kind of guy who rolls up his sleeves and jumps in. I think when voters get to know him they’re going to be impressed.”
Buontempo, 46, is Branch Sales Director, National Accounts for Sprint Corp. He has a BS in Marketing from Seton Hall University and an MBA from Rider University. He has coached multiple boys and girls sports teams in the HYAA and is currently coach of the Central Jersey Hornets, a national girls softball travel team. He is married with two sons and a daughter.
