It’s easy to lead when the wind is at your back and things are going well. But, the mark of true leadership is having the courage to stand up and speak the truth in the face of adversity. Unfortunately, for New Jersey Republicans, our current state party chairman Doug Steinhardt has failed that test.
Shaun Golden, the Monmouth County Sheriff, was reelected Chairman of the Monmouth GOP on Tuesday evening during a convention of the County Committee conducted via Zoom. He was unopposed for his fourth two year term as Chairman.
Golden had harsh words for NJ Republican Chairman Doug Steinhardt during his remarks to the County Committee.
The Republicans, each a potential gubernatorial candidate against Prince Philip Dunton Murphy next year, have been relentless this week in their criticism of MVC’s reopening to long lines in the heat and humidity, lack of social distancing, fights, and drivers camping overnight to get their cars registered and licenses renewed or issued.
New Jersey’s Motor Vehicle Commission appears to be headed for Day 2 of Venezuelan style government service.
Good morning #NJ! It’s 5 am & the line already wraps around the Flemington MVC. After 4 months of full pay & a good night’s sleep @GovMurphy & MVC Commissioner @suefulton will once again turn away thousands of taxpayers they can’t serve & don’t care about. #MurphyExposed#NJGOPpic.twitter.com/jafDf1JFt5

Kim Guadagno and Jack Ciattarelli at the 2017 GOP nominating convention
Former Assemblyman Jack Ciattarelli is apparently looking to clear his path to the 2021 Republican gubernatorial nomination by inviting his past and potential political opponents to attend his campaign kickoff.
Ciattarelli, who lost the GOP gubernatorial primary to former Lt. Gov Kim Guadagno in 2017, will ceremonially announce his candidacy at his high school alma matter in Raritan on January 21, according to a NewJerseyGlobe report. He told the Associated Press that he was running last February and has been a frequent guest at GOP events throughout New Jersey ever since.
MMM has learned that the candidate has personally invited Guadagno, as well and NJ GOP Chairman Doug Steinhardt, Monmouth County GOP Chairman, Sheriff Shaun Golden, and former U.S. Senate candidate Bob Hugin to attend the event.
Assemblywoman Serena DiMaso, Clerk Christine Giordano Hanlon, “top contender for governor” Jon Bramnick and Freeholder Director Tom Arnone on the Walk to Washington train last winter.
The pre-primary of the 2021 GOP nomination for NJ Governor got a lot more interesting this morning.
In a Star Ledger Friendly Fire interview with Democrat strategist Julie Roginsky and Republican strategist Mike DuHaime that Assembly Minority Leader Jon Bramnick shared on facebook, DuHaime declared Bramnick to be a “top contender for governor after a strong 2019.”
Over 400 supporters of Sheriff Shaun Golden, Freeholder Director Tom Arnone and County Clerk Christine Giordano Hanlon ignored the iffy weather reports and enjoyed the 10th Annual Summer Kickoff post-primary gathering at Bar Anticipation in Lake Como on Wednesday evening.
Winston Churchill said, “An appeaser is one who feeds a crocodile, hoping it will eat him last.” In New Jersey, as long as we keep electing politicians who feed the State’s bloated budget, none of us are safe.
Phil Murphy calls New Jersey a high tax for high value state. But Democrats are squeezing out what little value is left. Our schools are failing, NJ Transit deteriorating, jobs leaving, and taxes rising. Policies passed to appease progressives instead of provide solutions are chasing businesses and families away.
Last year, Phil Murphy and New Jersey Democrats set the bar for their income ”success tax” at $5 million. One year later, they redefined “success” as a family making $1 million or more. That’s an 80 percent drop. Take 20 percent of that and by 2020 a family earning $200,000 would pay more taxes. By 2021, a family earning just $40,000 could be the next, New Jersey “success”. It sounds crazy, but it’s not. The middle class is next, because government is out of control. Read the rest of this entry »
Over 400 Monmouth County Republicans and guests from throughout New Jersey gathered at Bar A in Lake Como on Wednesday night for the 9th Annual Summer Kickoff hosted by Sheriff Shaun Golden, Freeholder Director Tom Arnone and County Clerk Christine Giordano Hanlon.
U.S Senate nominee Bob Hugin and NJ GOP Chairman Doug Steinhardt were on hand to celebrate Hugin’s decisive victory (and Senator Bob Menendez’s poor performance) in the primary the previous day.
Conservative businessman Rich Pezzullo announced last night that he will seek the GOP nomination to challenge Congressman Frank Pallone in the 6th Congressional District of New Jersey (parts of Monmouth and Middlesex counties).
Pezzullo declared his candidacy at the Middlesex County Republican Women’s Club’s annual Reagan Day celebration.
“We can no longer allow enemies of American progress like Frank Pallone to represent us when he and others like him are spending every day trying to hold our nation back. I am challenging him because I believe that the Sixth District deserves so much better — a representative they can rely on, that they can be proud of,” Pezzullo told the gathering. “Pallone was elected to Congress 30 years ago and has not accomplished anything. He is too far left even for his own rabidly leftist party. Isn’t it time for a Congressman who will work for a living?” Read the rest of this entry »
