New Jersey’s Republican congressmen, Chris Smith (NJ-4) and Jeff Van Drew (NJ-2) today proposed legislation that would retroactively grant a cost of living (COLA) increase to senior citizens collecting social security for 2020 and further increase seniors’ income in 2021, according to an announcement from Smith office.
Former Governor Chris Christie announced on twitter this morning that he has completed his treatment for COVID-19 at Morristown Medical Center and has gone home.

October 13 is the last day to register to vote in the November 3 election
Monmouth County Clerk Christine Giordano Hanlon is reminding County residents that the deadline for new voters to register to vote is Tuesday, October 13, in order to vote in the November 3 general election.
New voters can register online by visiting the State’s voter registration portal, or in person at the County Superintendent/Registrar of Elections Office located at 300 Halls Mills Rd. in Freehold Township. This office will be open until 9 p.m. on the 13th to accommodate last minute registrants.
Senator Robert Singer, Howell’s Republican state Senator for many years, warned Howell voters against taking the text messages from the young Democrat freshman senator, Vin Gopal, seriously.
“Senator Gopal is an ambitious young man with misplaced priorities,” Senator Singer said. “Gopal’s district has the highest level of gun violence of all of Monmouth County and the smelliest dump in all of New Jersey. The young senator should focus on his own district’s serious problems instead of lying to my constituents with text messages in support of his puppet, Mayor Theresa Berger.
The reelection campaign of Howell Mayor Theresa Berger was kicked off last week with a fake newspaper filled with fake news and paid for and mailed to Howell voters by a Fake Democrat political action committee.
The Howell Tribune, a political hit piece filled with false and misleading content, claims that Berger blocked a proposed dump in the township and that Republican council members are behind the increase in residential development.
