Popular New Jersey-based sub shop Jersey Mike’s found itself going viral on Twitter this week. And it didn’t even write the tweet that was trending.
Comedian Yassir Lester tweeted what appeared to be a statement from Jersey Mike’s on June 30 that claimed the company would be changing the name of its bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich to a bacon, lettuce and ‘mato sandwich — a BLM, an apparent tribute to Black Lives Matter.

Russell Lewis, the owner of Watermark Asbury Park, responded to a NJ.com report of a bar fight, a maskless crowd and little if any social distancing at Donovan’s Reef in Sea Bright on Saturday night by calling upon State Senator Vin Gopal to get the popular Sea Bright venue shut down.

Stephanie Schmid has burned through most of the money her ex-boyfriends gave her to try to win the Democrat nomination to take on Congressman Chris Smith the the 4th Congressional District.
In a candid interview with MMM, David Applefield, one of the three candidates vying for the Democrat nomination to take on Congressman Chris Smith in CD-4, said that he found one of his opponents, Stephanie Schmid, “quite objectionable.” Applefield expressed his respect for his other opponnent, Christine Conforti.
“Stephanie is absent of ideas,” the Red Bank resident and small business owner said. “She is not that kind of leader that will advance us. She does not represent the ideas or leadership to transform the district in a positive direction. She’s not forthright.”
Thomas DeSeno, an attorney from Asbury Park and frequent MMM contributor, has launched a GoFundMe campaign to raise funds to buy safety vest for Asbury Park Press reporters.
DeSeno seeded the $200 campaign with a $20 contribution.
