Suspended Doctor Caught Selling Forged Scripts for $300-$400
The Middletown Police Department in conjunction with investigators from the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and the State Attorney General’s Division of Consumer Affairs broke up a prescription drug enterprise Thursday night following a month long investigation, according to a statement by Acting Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni.
Dr. Kenneth Lewandowski, 51, of Tatum Dr , Middletown, was charged with six counts of third degree Conspiracy, six counts of third degree Forgery and the Unlawful Practice of Medicine, also a third degree crime. He was held at the Monmouth County Correctional Institution on $140,000 bail as set by Middletown Municipal Judge Richard Thompson.
Lewandowski’s medical license was temporarily suspended last April after he was arrested for DUI three times in the six weeks between February 14 and March 31. His DUI arrests occurred in Middletown, Lakewood and Wall. The Lakewood incident included an accident that resulted in injuries. Lewandowski was charged with Assault by Auto in that case, according to the Order suspending his medical license.
Thomas Menendez, 50, of Geary Drive in Middletown is alleged to be Lewandowski’s partner in the criminal enterprise. Menendez was charged with six counts of third degree Conspiracy and six counts of third degree Forgery. Judge Thompson set Menendez’s bail at $30,000.
Neither Lewandowski or Menendez are currently in the custody of the Monmouth County Correctional Institution, according to APP’s Data Universe.

By Freeholder Serena DiMaso
This year’s election season doesn’t carry with it the big ticket names for President or even Governor, but in Monmouth County and Holmdel it certainly does. Freeholder Director Lillian Burry and Deputy Director Gary Rich have worked diligently for the residents of our county. In Holmdel, our Mayor Pat Impreveduto and Committeeman Greg Buontempo mirror that work ethic and continue to deliver the best quality of life for our beautiful community.
Any one who knows me, knows how often I tell the story of why I chose Holmdel and Monmouth County. BUT, in case you haven’t heard, here’s the short version, we wanted a place we could raise our children and they could raise their children. We wanted a community that boasted the best school systems, park systems and quality of life in all of New Jersey. We found it. It’s all right here in Holmdel Township, Monmouth County. Why? Because of the leadership of the Monmouth County Board of Freeholders and the Holmdel Township Committee.

Report: Holmdel Bomb Scare Was A Hoax
The bomb scare at St. John Vianney HIgh School reported earlier today was a hoax, according to a report on Holmdel-Hazlet Patch.

“We’re looking at it hard and believe it to be a hoax and we will be investigating it thoroughly,” said Gramiccioni.
Gramiccioni said the Holmdel Police Department received a call at 10:39 a.m. indicating that a bomb was on the premises of St. John Vianney and that the caller was carrying a weapon. Following the call, the school was locked down and students and staff were evacuated.
Responding to the scene were Holmdel, Hazlet and Matawan police departments, State Police, and the Monmouth County Emergency Response Team. Gramiccioni said the FBI also offered to assist.
No weapons or explosives were found after the school was swept twice. The school was cleared at 2:45 p.m.
“It was an unsubstantiated threat and appears to be a hoax,” said Gramiccioni.
