Josh and Angela Welle make a fundraising appeal from their shower

Josh Welle, a candidate for the Democrat nomination for congress in the 4th congressional district, and his wife Angela, went live on facebook on Wednesday night in a bizarre fundraising appeal while they were regrouting their shower.  Here’s the first two minutes of their shower scene:


The entire video was about thirty minutes, during which the candidate asked for grouting tips from audience, told stories about rehabbing a buddy’s house in exchange for lunch, espoused encouraging more children to pursue jobs working with their hands, and said Congressman Chris Smith hasn’t done anything for his district in 10 years. Angela helped prepare the surface, mixed the grout and asked viewers to visit the campaign website and make a donation.

The couple should have called Giuseppe “Joe” Grillo, who when he was a Democrat Freeholder candidate in 2014  carried his grouting tools with him while campaigning door to door.

Welle and former Asbury Park Councilman Jim Keady are competing in the June 5 Primary Election for the Democratic nomination in CD-4.  The winner will faceoff against Congressman Chris Smith in November.

    Wait – let’s get this straight. The Welles are asking for campaign donations so that they can refinish their bathroom? There must be a law against that…right??

    Guess this is an attempt to: 1.) relate to young couples, and 2.) show off his arm muscles. Maybe will work, maybe not..
