Casa Freehold Director: There is no influx of Central American Youth in Freehold
Rita Dentino, Executive Director of Casa Freehold said her comments reported in the Sentinel and other Greater Media newspapers regarding a steady stream of unaccompanied Central American Youth arriving in Freehold Borough were not reported accurately. MMM relied on those reports earlier this week when reporting on the situation and State Senator Jennifer Beck’s response.
During an interview in her Freehold office, Dentino said that to her knowledge there has been only one refugee child, a 16 year old boy, that has arrived in Freehold from Central America since the first of the year and that there is no parade of children arriving at a rate of one per day. The Sentinel reported that Dentino said there were 5-10 young refugees in the Borough and that more were arriving daily. Denton told MMM that the 5-10 figure represents all young Central American youth that have come to Freehold over the last 11 years that she has worked at Casa Freehold, not a recent influx due to the situation on the United States’ southern border.
Dentino questioned the published reports that there have been 1500 Central American children sent to New Jersey from the border since the first of the year. “There maybe 1500 over a 10 year period, but not all of a sudden, ” Dentino said, “the media is not accurately reporting the timing of these arrivals.”
“He’s terrified,” Dentino said of the 16 year old boy who arrived in June, “he fled a horrific situation in his country and crossing the border is terrifying. There are deaths on our border all the time. He is a refugee. He has no legal guardian.” The boy is staying with a family he met on his journey from the border to Freehold.
Dentino said that she does not expect the boy, or any of the children from Central America that she is aware of will enroll in the Freehold Borough Schools. Those who go to school go to Colts Neck High School where they have a program for students who do not speech English, she said. “100% of the arrivals here have not gone to the Freehold Borough Schools. This is not an issue that should be used in the Freehold School referendum.”
“The is not a Freehold issue. It is a United States issue. These children are refugees on the borders of the United States. U.S. law says that children from non-contiguous countries, Mexico and Canada, who show up on our border are entitled to apply for refugee status. We need to welcome these refugees with love.”
Dentino said that guardianship for refugee children is not a matter that is handled by the New Jersey Division of Youth and Family Services (DYFS), as was reported in the Sentinel, but rather by the federal Department of Health and Human Services. Casa Freehold assists refugees and the families that are caring for them in applying for asylum.

Will be the new method of the Democrats recruiting future voters, for when these children have children, they will be US Citizens with the right to vote.

You know, I understand the issue with the funding and financial resources, I agree that everyone should be upset about that.
However, with that being said, we are talking about children. If you lived in one of these Central American nations like Honduras (etc) you can be damned sure that you would do everything you could to get to the US especially for your children. For your children to have a chance for a better life.
I wonder how many of the people verbally attacking children consider themselves “christian” (small c on purpose). Is it not the first duty of christian theology to help the unfortunate or is it just when it doesn’t interfere with your daily lives?
And stop with the conspiracy theories, I mean seriously. Look at the newspaper headlines from the 1800’s through the early 1900’s….the same things were being said about the Irish Catholics, Italians, Chinese….. almost word for word.
This is a cut and paste response from elsewhere on this blog since we are still “crying for the children”
Why don’t the governments of those countries make it safe for their own children? No, they would rather look the other way instead of eradicating the drug cartels, and let their children leave instead of creating an economy that can improve the lives of their own citizens?
WE ARE OVER $17 TRILLION DOLLARS IN DEBT, HEADING TO $20 TRILLION.
We can’t afford it. Here’s what a TRILLION $$$ looks like. Imagine it x 17

Are these the children coming here?

And they are recruiting those children.

Here’s some interesting statistics of crimes caused by those illegals

Are you happy with the diseases they are bringing into our country, unchecked?
How would you feel if you or yourself became infected by one of them?

Now, while we are talking statistics

In 2007, Illegal Aliens cost NJ taxpayers $2.1 BILLION. Now doubt, 7 years later it’s double that. How about a tax break for NJ residents first? Or, we could pay back the pension funds

Now about jobs. In 2013; 293 THOUSAND jobs were taken by illegal immigrants

Are any of your friends or family members out of work? Wouldn’t they want a job, any job if they really needed it to put bread on the table?
If you STILL wonder why we need to seal the border after reading this, I am not the problem.
“Among the significant revelations are that individuals from nations currently suffering from the world’s largest Ebola outbreak have been caught attempting to sneak across the porous U.S. border into the interior of the United States. ”

COMPASSION is not letting this virus loose in the United States.

How about COMPASSION for this girl and making sure it doesn’t happen to another one?
NO, I’ll have some compassion for Americans first.
SEAL THE BORDER FIRST & spare me they sympathy for people who break our laws.
Jim Granelli
Anselm, I agree we are talking about children. But what about OUR children? The children of the men and women who defend our country, work long hours and pay the taxes. Our children need safe streets and safe schools. Let Hondorous care for their own children and let America take care of hers!
Sorry I feel bad for them too but I feel worse for our kids.
@ @@Anselm
I agree, I think we have to take care of our own beforehand.
And @Jim G. you can blow it out of your you know what because I was talking about the migration of children and not criminals so you can back the hell up. And what virus are you talking about??? Ebola? I know Nigeria and Sierra Leone are close to Guatemala (sarcasm of course).
Where is your degree in international politics since you think you know so much about the Zeta drug cartel and how to control them?
Look, I wasn’t attacking anyone, but you felt the need to go on a hysterical rant as if you were trying to intimidate someone.
Did you even bother to read the links about the MS 13 gangs recruit said children, before you started with the caustic language aimed at me?
Hysterical rant you say? I just pointed out fact after fact, after fact that you seem to want to ignore.
THAT’S your problem. I nailed you on facts and you had to make it personal.
Remember, YOU did that. Not me.
Now, did you read the links about the diseases the children are bringing in?
Did you read ANY of the links? I somehow doubt it, otherwise you wouldn’t have taken the turn to Mr. McNasty. You would have said GULP, HELL, we got us a mess.
Trying to intimidate someone?
NO, but the FACTS must intimidate you.
To borrow a quote from a movie, “You can’t handle the truth”
I don’t need a degree, nor does anyone else need a degree in international politics to see what is going on.
We can’t as a nation afford this kind of illegal invasion, because the FACTS as shown in those links show that it’s costing NJ residents nearly 300,000 jobs and better than $2.1 BILLION in 2007, probably more than that now.
So, if you want to make things personal, you are barking up the wrong tree because that is all you have to defend your position.
Please ask this woman if she was lying then or is she lying now? *** This week, Rita Dentino, the director of Casa Freehold, said between five and 10 unaccompanied minors from Central America are now residing in Freehold Borough.
Dentino said she expects more unaccompanied children to arrive.
“There are more coming every day,” she said.**

One poster mentioned that it is better for the children to make the trek to the United States. Not true. They are being put in life threatening situations. Not only are traversing dangerous terrain, through dessert, mountains, rivers, etc., but they are also accessing the services of Alien Smuggling Organizations (ASO’s), who are part of the Transnational Criminal Organizations (TCO’s); the Mexican Drug Cartels. You think these TCO’s give a damn about these kids? The parents are irresponsible for putting their kids in harms way like this. The parents are here already, working illegally in this country. With all of Obama’s talk of amnesty, more are flooding the border every day, in the hopes that they too, can win amnesty, and ride the American Gravy Train. Many times Border Patrol Agents have sacrificed their lives, trying to rescue illegal aliens, drowning in the rivers they were foolishly crossing, or rescue in the dessert, as the ASO’s abandoned them, and they didn’t have water to survive. Some have been killed by the TCO’s, or they end up getting caught between competing TCO’s, or they become trafficked victims, where the ASO’s try to extort more money from the families, than what was originally agreed to. These parents have committed two crimes…crossing our border illegally, and working here without authorization, and putting their children in these dangerous situations.
@ Anselm and others of the same ilk.
I want to add a point with regards to my previous posts on this issue.
It’s high time we stop basing decisions that affect the financial and physical security of this country on emotions. That’s why I post links to facts that should be considered. And, I’ll dang well post as many facts as I need to in order to open up eyes. I can’t help those that won’t consider those facts, but those that do often figure out things need to change.
You see, liberals base their decisions on emotions .
http://townhall.com/columnists/johnhawkins/2007/02/16/liberal_emotion_vs_conservative_logic/page/full
Is it a harsh way to do such?
It depends on which side of the fence you are on, the receiving end or the giving end.
We’ll friends, we are broke, DEAD broke. And if we don’t start wising up, we will be DEAD as far as the country we knew.
And if other countries can not create situations where their citizens can feel safe and can earn a living, WE CAN’T and shouldn’t do it for them.
Why?
Because those other countries will have become enabled to the point that they won’t even try to create safe and productive countries. It’s no different than the welfare state that enables people to sit home and not work to improve their own lives.

You can even hire “day laborers” at their center.
I wonder if they have Social Security numbers and pay taxes?
They do not say if the “employer” is subject to any penalties if they were to hire their “day laborers”.
I have no doubt they are extremely hard workers trying to support themselves and their families (many back in another country); the real question is are these people here legally and are they allowed to work here?
I am of Irish ancestry, and when the Irish arrived on the boats, there was a little place called Ellis Island where immigrants were screened and checked for disease (and possible quarantined there). These Irish were also hard workers, as were Italian, Polish and Jewish immigrants. But they came here legally! They obeyed the rules and laws in place at the time of their arrival. And, yes, they all faced discrimination in many quarters – but overcame that discrimination.
Why is it we can no longer have any rules or laws in place relative to immigration?
We need real change in Washington, DC to restore hope for the American families and American workers.
That does not mean we can’t have compassion for those living in other countries. But do we have the resources to become the “nanny state” for everyone living anywhere in the world? Should we open the borders and let in Africans fleeing Ebola in west Africa? What about Shia Muslims being slaughtered in Iraq? The Kurds? The Afghanis? The Ukranians? The Syrians? Where does it stop?
If anyone here feels that they must help these “children”, well why don’t you adopt one or two of these “children”? Put YOUR money where your mouth is.
The wildly different numbers and accounts serve only to show that nobody can get even a semi-reasonable focus on the problem. And that is a result of chaos and anarchy, just leading to more of the same.
rita is a spinster liar cheese advocated for the influx of undocumented aliens into freehold boro. she’s also spearheaded the lawsuit against freehold boro. it appears Rita’s flip flopping. one day she told the press there are unaccompanied minors from Central America, whom she claims Casa freehold has aided in effort to secure residency in freehold boro, now she’s back tracks your comments I stayed in bed this is not recent but this is over the last 10 years. Rita, the director of Casa freehold, has a long history of misinterpretation of US immigration law total disregard for US immigration law support of training and socialist organizations such as the world workers.com. Casa freehold and the director Rita, singular purpose is to subvert federal immigration laws, floodthe labor market withindividuals ineligible to legally be employed in the U.S.A. and for those bold enough to call her out she will excuse as being xenophobic racist.
