Senator Jennifer Beck working with federal officials and Governor to handle the crisis

Dentino said that more children are arriving everyday, according to a report in the Sentinal.

State Senator Jennifer Beck issued a statement today saying she is working with federal and state officials to secure funding to deal with the situation and to evaluate New Jersey’s legal options and obligations.

“This is an issue with far ranging implications that is being experienced all across the country. I am working closely with federal representatives and the Governor’s Office to fully understand our legal options and obligations. I am hopeful that money will come from the federal government as part of an overall response to this issue. There are real humanitarian, fiscal and capacity concerns so all decisions must be fully vetted. I will continue to communicate openly with local officials to keep all appraised of our progress.”

Published reports indicate that over 1,500 Central American children have arrived in New Jersey.  The federal government operates only one 10 bed facility in the State, and none of the children are housed there.

Dentino told the Sentinal that she would be contacting DYFS (Division of Youth and Family Services) to begin the process of finding the children guardians.

That’s the gosh dang problem. Why are we taxpayers being forced to pay for this?

  2. Florence Gray said at 9:13 pm on August 3rd, 2014:

They are CHILDREN, for goodness’ sake. They are refugees being sent here to avoid being murdered or raped in their own violent countries. Have a little compassion, gosh dang it.

is having a meltdown. Why don’t the governments of those countries make it safe for their own children? No, they would rather look the other way instead of eradicating the drug cartels, and let their children leave instead of creating an economy that can improve the lives of their own citizens?

We can’t afford it. Here’s what a TRILLION $$$ looks like. Imagine it x 17

Are these the children coming here?

And they are recruiting those children.

Here’s some interesting statistics of crimes caused by those illegals

Are you happy with the diseases they are bringing into our country, unchecked?

How would you feel if you or yourself became infected by one of them?

Now, while we are talking statistics

In 2007, Illegal Aliens cost NJ taxpayers $2.1 BILLION. Now doubt, 7 years later it’s double that. How about a tax break for NJ residents first? Or, we could pay back the pension funds

Now about jobs. In 2013; 293 THOUSAND jobs were taken by illegal immigrants

Are any of your friends or family members out of work? Wouldn’t they want a job, any job if they really needed it to put bread on the table?

NO Florence, I’ll have some compassion for Americans first.

SEAL THE BORDER FIRST & spare me they sympathy for people who break our laws.

  5. DEM said at 6:45 am on August 4th, 2014:

@Jim What a shame that you have no compassion.thay are kids.

  6. Tom Stokes said at 8:53 am on August 4th, 2014:

First, we need to be a nation of laws. A nation without borders is no longer a nation.

Second, how many of these “children” are members of gangs (some rather violent)?

Third, yes, we as Americans do have compassion, but we need to understand that paying “coyotes” (read drug cartel members) and sending the very young into danger is plainly CHILD ABUSE by the parents. Accepting this is supporting CHILD ABUSE.

Fourth, this is not just about the very young; mentioned in this specific article the ages of between 11 and 16. We are now being told that this illegal, undocumented, immigration influx includes residents from Ebola stricken African countries, as well as from countries where radical Islam is gaining strength.

Perhaps if those who applaud sending “children” to trek through Mexico in the hands of “coyotes” would offer to adopt those “children”, there would be less of a problem and less of a cost to the American taxpayer.

Secure the border first, and fix this broken immigration system so that we can control the influx of new immigrants and make sure they are not criminals, terrorists and carriers of communicable diseases.

We must protect Americans, of all ethnic backgrounds, from this invasion. The American workers must also be protected from an influx of cheap labor which will only destroy the middle class in this country.

Don’t even attempt to say I have no compassion – my wife and I adopted two children from South America. I ask you liberals – what have you done to help the children?

As for the democrats, you controlled the White House, and the entire congress (House and Senate) for two years. What did you do to fix our immigration system? Absoultely nothing, nada, zip.

It’s time for a real change in Washington DC to restore hope to every American family.

  7. Jim Granelli said at 9:13 am on August 4th, 2014:

    @ Dem

    Tom Stokes says it best:

“Don’t even attempt to say I have no compassion – my wife and I adopted two children from South America. I ask you liberals – what have you done to help the children?”

COMPASSION Mr. Dem is the government of these countries seeing to it that they don’t have to make that journey.

COMPASSION Mr. Dem is consideration for the American worker, at least 293,000 of them NJ residents, losing jobs to illegals.

You know, they do grow up, and that they take the jobs from teenagers, especially? No wonder the teen age unemployment rate is so high. How about COMPASSION for your own kids?

You want us to have COMPASSION Mr. Dem?

How about YOU paying for them out of your own pockets. I’m retired and broke from high taxes. How about some compassion for the American taxpayer.

You see Mr. Dem, you have no facts on your side. So, you turn to personal attacks.

You know SO little about the compassion I have.

  8. Jim Granelli said at 9:52 am on August 4th, 2014:

    Furthermore Mr. Dem

If you STILL wonder why we need to seal the border after reading this, I am not the problem.

“Among the significant revelations are that individuals from nations currently suffering from the world’s largest Ebola outbreak have been caught attempting to sneak across the porous U.S. border into the interior of the United States. ”

COMPASSION is not letting this virus loose in the United States.

  9. Helene said at 10:01 am on August 4th, 2014:

According to the linked article, Casa Freehold is transporting these kids & adults. Once these kids arrive they are handed off to those a who cme to claim them. There is no oversight, some have documents & some don’t. Who are the people taking these kids? Are they family member or gang member? Anything can be happening to these kids. If these children are indeed being claimed by family, they don’t qualify for refugee status as per the 2008 Act. If they are being scooped up by those with nefarious intentions, Casa Freehold is participating in the activity the act adopted to protect these kids from.

  10. Wow JimG said at 10:30 am on August 4th, 2014:

    Nice link JimG, thanks.

It makes me kind of sad that our Border Patrol and National Guard doesn’t seem to have the authority to use live fire on these criminal trespassers.

I dare any of you to drive up to Canada, then on your return trip back into the United States, get to those US Customs gates and at the last second, just gun the gas pedal and speed on through. I’ll bet any US citizen who is allowed in this country who tries it the value of the car they try it in that you’ll be shot at and either killed or arrested within seconds, but these criminal trespassers have free reign to run the border crossings and disregard our laws with no such fears of being shot at or arrested and deported.

We Americans are more fearful of our own government than anyone else, and we the citizens are treated far worse than any criminal trespassers. We pay for this mistreatment in our tax dollars and tolerate it because the tyrants employ our own brothers and sisters to mistreat us and our neighbors.

God bless you and your family when Ebola and other diseases make it here. It sounds like the disease is already in Freehold so it’s only a short matter of time before there is an outbreak in our neighborhoods.

  11. sancho panza said at 10:51 am on August 4th, 2014:

It’s a good thing that Freehold does not have an 18th Street. MS-13 is already on the scene.

You and I are not supposed to own a semi-automatic rifle, never mind one with a standard capacity 30 round magazine, because it LOOKS LIKE a military issue rifle but meanwhile the government IS using ACTUAL MILITARY WEAPONS against the citizens.

But we treat illegals to free cable and a cozy home in lovely Freehold NJ because the Florence Gray’s of America are worried about the illegals from Honduras, but don’t give a hoot about the quality of life of AMERICAN CHILDREN.

Send them back to their parents, there are too many kids and not enough room, then our kids gets pushed aside, that right there is the problem!!!

  15. Don't worry, said at 8:21 pm on August 4th, 2014:

Freehold’s already40% ethnic, and, after our dictator in chief legalizes another 11 million or so lawbreakers in September, who have been here long enough to turn, say, voting age by Nov., they will be able to take over both houses in 2014, and beat us again in ’16, because that’s the plan- but, look on the bright side, (absent enough guts and pushback and following the Constitution they swore to uphold, from the RINO’S,) they won’t need to fight/ spend to keep overloading NJ- we are already in the “Blue State” column, and likely to remain so! They are doing their best right now to turn Texas and Arizona from Red to Blue, and, at this point, despite the best efforts of Gov. Perry, looks like they may succeed!! Perhaps if Republicans at all levels stopped “eating their own,” and got a clue to what the other side is doing, there’d be a prayer- am waiting….

  16. Son of Silence Dogood said at 9:41 pm on August 4th, 2014:

As a long time resident of Freehold, let me just say that the last thing the town needs is any more illegal immigrant children to take care of, house, feed, and educate. “Where is your compassion, they are children??!!!” I choose to think of the other couple thousand children in Freehold Boro who’s education is suffering because of the money the town has to spend to educate Illegal Immigrant children, and the children of Illegal Immigrants (yes, many illegal immigrants have been there so long, they have had children who are now legal US citizens having been born in the USA).

One other thought…how about if we send military resources to these poor Central and South American countries in order to restore peace, wipe out the drug cartels and gangs? Can we then seal up the border? Or do we continue to say, “It’s not our business to get involved in their countries issues, but feel free to keep sending your refugees to the USA where we’ll continue to pay for them…one million at a time”?

  17. When he sat said at 10:10 pm on August 4th, 2014:

and basically gave away our country yet again, instead of telling them to take their citizens home, clean up their act, cancel their foreign aid, and send them our never-ending bill so far, I started looking at where it might be safe/ cheaper to live outside our now over- taxed and non- existent borders- it’s a disgrace, and the end is happening, right now, in every state of our former union, right before our eyes- wow, all this ruination, in less than 6 years: shame on him/them, and shame on us, for letting it get this bad..congrats, creep, you sure did “fundamentally change” the greatest nation in the world, as promised. God help the kids and grandkids.

but God doesn’t have enough to give us to pay for it all…and, what happened to “charity begins at home”??- an audit of what those 3 countries’ leaders have done to stop their drug cartels, and make life better for them that they don’t want to flee to the land of Obama’s great largesse, that we all pay for him to throw away, is in order: how many other dictators worldwide, that we send money to, either wind up building their own fortunes, or, better yet, buying up more arms to turn around and kill us with?? The days of our treasure and toil going to these places are long over, but Mr. Fundamental Change did not get/read that memo- and has his own “phone and pen” to do what we the people DON’T want! Thanks a lot, you who gave him to us make me sick!

Silly you. Please Dear Sir, stop tossing the the horse manure. As Mr. Granelli pointed out, thou seems to have no clue what compassion is, no; none at all.

You see, ye ole Dems don’t want to use their own shillings to pay for others, they would rather take it from the pockets of the citizens of the world.

BY the way sir, ye do know that ye Dems are the least tithing of the lot as the Dems always want to use the money of other good citizens to benefit their own, but they are too miserly to spend their own, just like Old Mr. Scrooge.

Begone with you sir. You have been once, twice, thrice and more times beaten.
