New Kyrillos Ad Hits The Airwaves

Kyrillos spokesperson Meaghan Cronin issued the following statement about the ad:

“Senator Kyrillos has a record of fighting for women, the environment and New Jersey families. He has always put the needs of the people ahead of political affiliation or ideology.  This stands in stark contrast to Senator Menendez who consistently puts politics ahead of the people resulting in record unemployment, skyrocketing debt and loss of opportunity.  Unlike Senator Menendez, Joe is committed to providing a spirit of bipartisanship to the United States Senate.”

  1. Joe is Wrong said at 1:49 pm on September 3rd, 2012:

    Kryillos is wrong on crime.

Kryillos is wrong to support the holocaust that is legalized abortion.

Kryillos is wrong to support affirmative action.

Kryillos is wrong in being so hostile towards the Second Amendment.

Kryillos is wrong not to rule out higher taxes for American taxpayers.

Kryillos is a liberal, RINO, carreer politician that has been feeding at the public trough for decades now. Menendez sucks to be sure. That said, Kryillos is wrong for New Jersey as well. I’m done voting for liberal Republicans that are only slightly less offensive that what the Democrats are offering. I won’t be happy on Election Day but I will enjoy watching liberal Joe Kryillos concede defeat.

  2. I Hate To, But Have To Agree With said at 2:02 pm on September 3rd, 2012:

“Joe Kryillos concede defeat” from the above post, but for different reasons.

I was never really thrilled with Joe, but even a RINO Joe Kyrillos is better than a hard core leftist like Menendez for the purpose of controlling the Senate..

However, with Romney down by 14 points there will be no coat tails to drag Kyrillos across the line and thus the likely hood of Joe conceding defeat is VERY high.

Unless Obama’s lead collapses in the next 60 days down to under 5 points, I just don’t see “Senator” before Joe’s name with regards to the US Senate. I wish I could help change that, but it would be like Don Quixote tilting at windmills.

Any idea on how to get that done? I’m open to it…

Maybe just the way Joe is doing it.

Both the Democratic and Republican parties in New Jersey are treating the presidential election here as a fate compli for Obama. The word out of Charlottee is that the NJ Democrats are all focused on 2013 and the gubernatorial race. They’re just phoning in the presidential race. One month of bad economic numbers and they think, wishfully, that Christie is on the ropes.

The lack of Democratic passion and the resulting GOTV effort this year helps Kyrillos.

New Jerseyans are fiscally conservative and socially tolerant/moderate. Joe Kyrillos fits that demographic to a tee.

New Jerseyans also like divided government.

Joe is positioning himself as an acceptable alternative to Menendez. New Jersey with its current demographics will not elect a Republican who could be elected in Alabama or Missouri.

For social conservatives who live and vote in New Jersey, we have to ask ourselves why we stay here and why many of us are “done voting for liberal Republicans,” the most conservative alternative and end up with a flaming liberals. It is that thinking that has given us the very liberal representation we have, rather than the moderate representation that would be consistent with our population.

Not bad. Just wondering why right off the bat Joe K’s wife needs to reassure NJ voters that he is a “different kind of Republican” (those words also printed on the screen.)

Assume she is comparing Joe to the far right wing R’s that now dominate the national Republican party and that he and she realize that most NJ residents want nothing to do with (otherwise why make the statement???)

  5. Screwtape said at 7:58 pm on September 3rd, 2012:

Joe Kyrillos is a different kind of Republican in the same way that Chaz Bono is a different kind of man. One can call themselves whatever they like but that doesn’t make it so. Chaz is not a dude because even the best surgeon can’t give her what God gave all men at birth. Joe Kryillos has the soul of a liberal Democrat and nothing that Joe Kryillos, his wife or anyone else says is going to change that fact of nature.

Art, you underestimate the value that Frank Lautenberg and Bob Menendez have not only to the conservative movement, but to the national Republican party as well. Every time that Senator Frank Lautenberg starts talking about guns, people start joining the NRA. Every time Senator Bob Menendez starts talking about the need for others to pay their “fair share” in taxes, Republican candidates across the country benefit. Conversely, when Judas-like, RINOs such as Joe Kryillos say that they will consider voting for tax increases, the national Republican party is hurt not helped.
