Didn’t the Clintons also try to take some of the furniture as they were leaving the Whitehouse?

I imagine that the use of Barry! at the end of the head on this post is a not so abstract reference to the Birther 2 story that Barack Obama is the Manchurian candidate.

    Absolutely not, Joe!

Surely a learned man as yourself knows that the president went by Barry during his childhood. I was calling the president childish.

Rather than imagine, I’ll just ask you…Why would you think I was referencing the birther issue? What does that say about your asparagus agenda?

    Uhh…. yeah.
That’s right, Joe Killeen. And I’m the Easter Bunny.

But Bush didn’t demean the office here?

    or with a bomber jacked?

How about Christie demeaning the office every time he rants off?

When Christie yells at someone he doesent demean the governors office?

    Hyprocisy is convenient for republicans

Art- because it isn’t in vogue for people to actually say what they mean anymore doesn’t mean that everyone has fallen victim to that disease.
I have enough replies and original posts lying around in the blogosphere where I have taken both Demoncrats and Republicans to task for their actions and words as well as questioned their motives and truthfulness.
I am an equal opportunity, self declared and defined, Asparagus.
I also am enough of a realist to understand that whatever the rhyme or reason that people, especially when they reach maturity, legally and mentally, change their names, there is a long and documented history and tradition of that in the US.
Mitt was born Willard, John Wayne was born Marion Morrison.
I don’t know or actually care why Willard chose to become Mitt.
I also don’t know or actually care why Barry, Barack or Hussein decided to call himself what he calls himself.
I think it was probably a dumb move if he was thinking of a career in politics but he won the office in a legal election, certified by both Houses of Congress and the Supreme Court.
I do care when Mitt and others want to separate themselves from the idiocy of the Birthers yet run it up the flagpole when they think it worth some points.
If you and yours actually believe that Barack Obama is the Manchurian candidate of your nightmares and managed to fool, lie and force his way into the White House than what the hell are you doing wasting time blogging and dancing around the issue.
Why haven’t the whole lot of you taken to the streets and thrown the Muslim and the hundreds of million or so Republicans and Demoncrats who accepted his election and validated his taking the office, and that damn chair, already.
How the hell do you expect to return America to its rightful status in the world if you sit around and hint at what you really believe and think happened and is happening.
Waving flags, making up slogans and wink, wink, bringing up the crime of this man being in that office, don’t cut it with the mujaheddin, Russian gangsters and fanatical fundamentalists of any religion in any country in the world.
Your use of the name Barry got my eye and my attention. I remembered the bullshit of Bullshit on Akin and Abortion.
I remembered the outrage and indignation over the back and forth between Matthews and Ramses the 2 (I know not quite right but even the true believers have to admit that the head of the Republican Party has a strange and hard name to remember)
I remembered all that and it struck me again that the self righteous, absolute certainty of the Republican party over the last decade bothers me and I believe, with no wink, wink, threatens the America that I call home.

it was the drapes, but, here’s the message: this clown thinks the seat is HIS, forever.. would not be surprised, if, God forbid, he steals the second term, that he figures out how to become President- for- life, the guy’s an idealogue, hell-bent on making us 3rd-world, and ever so “equal”,and so, permanently “weak-ual”..wake up, Americans, this really is our last chance to even begin to try and fix things he has ruined or harmed in 4 short yrs..while many carp about tiny phrases in platforms or speech methodologies, people are seriously hurting in a myriad of ways, only magnified by his pointed and clear agenda..and, this guy and his band of committed leftists are systematicaly, more each day, dismantling the best country in the world..only we uniting this Nov., can stop him and dump him outa that seat: OUR seat we let someone have, for a short time..it’s :NObama, 2012!

    Joe,

    You’re almost relapsing.

This is what I got out of your post:

1)I don’t think you answered my question. I’m not going to work that hard to figure out if you did. Therefore, you didn’t.

2)I think you called me a birther. I’m not.

    3)You’re a guest here.

My eyes go blind looking at his run on style of writing.

I have to say I am bored and dissapointed in all of you.

All that you numbnuts on both sides do is argue about who is the bigger liar and the posts quickly degenerate into name calling. Not to say that mocking your opponent is off limits completly but could we try to argue about something substantive once in a while. How about one week where we argue only about policy. What you say Art can we give that a try.

That works for me. Who wants to moderate?

I could put all comments on moderation or I could require commenters to sign in or only allow facebook users to comment.

I resisted doing any of these things forever and unlike other sites where comments were a problem, trolls haven’t taken over this one. I don’t know why, but I’m pleased overall with the community that comments here.

There has been a different tone to the comments lately as more readers who do not share my point of view particiapte. They’ve always been readers, but they are commenting now. I like that and encourage that

My inclination is to see how it develops. Now that summer is over, maybe more regular commenters who have been away will come back.

I put one recently prolific commenter in moderation. He hasn’t been back since. Maybe that will make the comments more interesting, informative and entertaining as well.
