Trump addresses mayors, signs Securing American Nonprofit Organizations Against Terrorism Act of 2019

President Donald J. Trump addressed Transforming the Nation’s Communities before the U.S Conference of Mayors yesterday afternoon in the White House East Room.  Following his remarks, the President signed the Securing American Nonprofit Organizations Against Terrorism Act of 2019 into law.

Congressman Chris Smith was a co-sponsor of the legislation which provides federal money for the protection of houses of worship and other nonprofits.

“It was an honor to represent Middletown at the U.S. Conference of Mayors meeting and to be present for the President’s remarks,” Mayor Tony Perry said. “Middletown is already one of the safest communities in America. With partners like President Trump and Congressman Smith, we will continue to provide an environment where our families can thrive while addressing the challenges that threaten the well-being and safety of our residents.”
