Lillian G. Burry

Freeholder Lillian G. Burry will be named Director of the Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholder when the Board holds its annual reorganization meeting on January 5 at 4 p.m. at Biotechnology High School, 5000 Kozloski Rd. in Freehold Township.

Freeholder John P. Curly will be named Deputy Director.

Sheriff Shaun Golden and Surrogate RoseMarie Peters, also having been reelected in November, will likewise be sworn in for their new terms at the meeting.   Golden’s term as Sheriff is for three years.  Peters’ term as Surrogate is five years.

The Freeholders will officially close the books on 2016 at a Sine Die meeting on January 5th at 11 a.m. in the second-floor meeting room of the Hall of Records .

Why is John Curley being skipped over? Seems like in recent years the Director was one of those who would be on the ballot for reelection that November. Not positive but I believe the only seat up this year is John’s so it would seem that it would be his year to be Director.

Whether its questioning financial improprieties at Brookdale or the Lucas Farm deal Mr Curley has always put principle above politics

Woops…my bad. Double checked and saw Mr. Curley is not up for election this year. As an fyi they did skip over him for the Directors spot when he was last on the ballot in 2015.

  3. Every one of this group said at 9:13 am on December 30th, 2016:

has served at least once as Director but DiMaso, who has served as Deputy. Burry and Rich are up in 2017, I believe.

did they skip over DiMaso? I heard last year they tried to get her bumped from the ticket but failed. Is she the new Little? Are we to expect a new rasta man?

No reason she should not have a turn, it is so not a big deal- the late Dir Tom Powers always wanted to be director, then complained he had to come in a whole extra day, to sign the many documents. If this group all have their portrait on the second floor wall, and they do, why not Serena as well? Again, the egos scrambling to be “first” in all things, is a continuing uncomfortable “wince” for our party.
