Monmouth County Sheriff Shaun Golden has received the endorsements of the New Jersey State Firefighters Mutual Benefit Association and the Long Branch FMBA Local 68 in his bid for another three year term in leading the County’s public safety efforts.

“Sheriff Golden’s  leadership has ensured a progressive agenda to modernize emergency response throughout the county and improve communication and dispatch across the entire region,” said Ronald Cattelona, President of FMBA Local 68. “The new Monmouth County Radio Communication/Emergency Operations Center is second to none in New Jersey and will serve the county for decades to come. It is this type of proactive management and foresight that improves safety and security to all of Monmouth County.”

“Sheriff Golden’s dedication and continued support enables us to perform our duties and protect the residents and visitors of Monmouth County to the best of our ability,” said NJ FMBA President Ed Donelly.

“Thank you to the leaders and members of the Firefighters Mutual Benefit Association for supporting my reelection,” Golden said. “More importantly, thank you for your ongoing work, sacrifice and partnership in keeping the citizen of Monmouth County save and secure.”

Golden took command of the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office in 2010 when his predecessor, Kim Guadagno, became the first Lt. Governor in the State of New Jersey. He was elected to his first full term that November and reelected in 2013.

The 76th Sheriff of Monmouth County, Golden leads the 605 member,$68 million agency which consists of three divisions: law enforcement, communications and corrections, as well as the administration of the Monmouth County Police Academy and the Office of Emergency Management, which played the lead role in preparing for Superstorm Sandy and coordinating the response and recovery efforts during and after the storm.

A lifelong resident of Monmouth County, Golden has a wealth of experience in law enforcement and public administration.  He has over 20 years experience in law enforcement as well as experience as an EMT, certified paramedic and volunteer firefighter. Golden holds a master’s degree in administration from Seton Hall University, is a NJ Certified Public Manager and an adjunct professor at Monmouth University with the Department of Political Science and Public Policy. The Sheriff has been instrumental in promoting shared services in Monmouth County, specifically through the expansion of the Communications Division, to cost effectively address the ever increasing needs of Monmouth County’s first responders.

He should have no problem beating his opponent who has done absolutely nothing to help the people of his own town or lower taxes unless it benefits him personally.

His opponent want to start programs that already exist and duplicate existing state and national programs. He has absolutely no experience in law enforcement.
