how about a bill that calls for monitoring the mental and physical health of police officers who are carrying firearms daily. Some of these guys are in their 40s, 50s, and even 60s and they are outright obese and in failing health, many show signs of PTSD. Old ladies wouldnt ask some of these guys to carry their groceries for fear they might have a heart attack and yet the state has them carrying firearms.

Here is an idea both sides might be able to agree with. Give gun owners back the right to conceal carry, remove all limitations on what single shot and semi auto weapons they can buy. Also, what accessories they can add to their weapons (including supressors) and remove all ammo restrictions. I promise you the gun owners of New Jersey will give you all the mental health and background checks you see fit provided they have the choice to choose a doctor they feel comfortable with.
