Shrewsbury, NJ:  On Thursday, September 24th the Mental Health Association of Monmouth County (MHA) will host a 65th Birthday Party at Taka, 660 Cookman Avenue, Asbury Park, NJ.  Guests will enjoy an Asian themed buffet and live music by Dawg Whistle with Rock N’ Roll Hall of Fame Inductee Vini Lopez, Paul Whistler, and Jon Sebastion Brice.  The party begins at 6:30pm and tickets are $95 each.

MHA is celebrating 65 years of raising awareness of the mental health needs of our communities. In the last few years and in light of so many stories in the headlines, the focus on mental health and wellness has never been more important. MHA, along with our national affiliate Mental Health America, is in the process of promoting our “B4Stage4 message” which emphasizes the need to recognize and treat mental illness like any other disease through early identification, intervention, and integrated treatment before stage 4.  MHA hopes to celebrate our history, but most importantly officially kick off our B4 Stage4 campaign on September 24th.

The 65th Birthday Party Committee Members are Susan Belfer, Eileen Chapman, and Abbi Finch; MHA Executive Director, Wendy DePedro; MHA Operating Board Members: Janice DePatria, John Gibney, and Erika Woods; MHA Operating Board Vice President, Susan Tellone-McCoy; MHA Foundation Board Member, Julianna Ford and MHA Foundation Board President, George Whitelaw.

Recently, Bob Sacks and Bob Sickles were quoted in their Two River Times Bob & Bob Restaurant Review as saying, “Taka is the place to meet some friends; walk in, and become part of a party already in progress.  It is a happy place with beautiful décor, attentive service and a large menu that will surely have something to please everyone.”

This is the type of atmosphere that MHA anticipates: a festive party where past, present, and new MHA supporters will join in the celebration and help commemorate the 65th Anniversary milestone.
