Democrats show up for ballot drawing with temperature gun
Monmouth County Democratic Chairman Vin Gopal’s entourage showed up at County Clerk Christine Giordano Hanlon’s office today for the ballot positioning drawing, armed with a space age temperature gun.
Linda Baum, a Middletown Democrat who has twice been defeated for Township Committee, and who got the Middletown Librarian fired when they conspired together to politicize library operations behind the backs of the Library’s Trustees, was on the scene in Freehold to take the temperature of the capsules containing the names Democrat and Republican for the ballot positioning drawing.
Gopal issued a press release this morning wherein he accused former County Clerk M. Claire French of refrigerating the capsules in the past in order that she could pick the cold one to assure the Republicans win the favored ballot position.
Baum, who’s certification in temperature gun operation is unclear, pointed her gun at the capsules while Bertha Sumick, the Clerk of Elections and a Deputy County Clerk looked on.
Hanlon had recused herself from presiding over the drawing, because she is on the ballot in November.
The capsules’ temperature were both approximately 74 degrees, according to our source in the room, which is proof that Hanlon is saving tax payers money and keeping the planet green by not running the air conditioning too cold.
Sumick then put the capsules in a cardboard box, shook them up and drew the capsule that contained the Democrat. The Democrats won the first ballot position and Gopal’s entourage of attorneys were disappointed that there would be no other fees to be earned from the fiasco.
MoreMonmouthMusings attempted to reach Sumick to assess whether or not she might have been subject to a Jedi Mind Trick like from the classic scene in Star Wars where Obe Wan Kenobe brain washes an Empire Century into letting Luke Skywalker and the drones pass the check point.
Sumick was unavailable, but we can’t think of any other reason that the Democrats could have won the draw.
Then again, Sumick is not weak minded and the force is not with Linda Baum or Vin Gopal, based upon the results they produce.
OMG!!!! We are going to lose! Our supporters will not be able to find us one inch over from the Dems! Ha ha ha! Vin is such a moron!!!
Art – is my calendar wrong? It’s not April 1st, is it????
ROTFLMAO
Has Vin Gopal ever beaten a Republican in any election? Ever?
If I was on the losing end of draws that had only a 1 in 1.5 million chance of occurring I would have considered bringing my Alvino Ray Gun to use on the capsules prior to the drawing.
It figures that you have an Alvino Ray Gun, Bob.

Do you buy lottery tickets, Bob? 😉
with the lack of interest in this election, both parties’ will be having a very hard time turning out even their most ardent apostles, with just the assembly, 2 county positions, and your locals on ballot..so, great, may the force and temperature be with us, NEXT year!!
There won’t be any turnout this November because Conservative voters are fed up with the choice between RINO Liberalism and Democrat Socialism. 2017 will be different with Mike Doherty leading the GOP ticket for Governor, and Steve Lonegan for Lieutenant-Governor. Joe Kyrillos, Tom Kean and the rest of the Monmouth County Country Club RINOS will be gone after they lose in the GOP primary.
Haven’t we heard that line before? Like in 2013 when the Tea Party Group claiming to represent voters of the Bayshore area Primary’d Joe K., Amy and Declan and lost by 60 points? Wasn’t that the same year that Leigh-Ann Bellew’s campaign manager put out a fake robocall at 4AM, PRETENDING to be from the Monmouth County Republicans, intending to piss off Republican voters? Wasn’t he indicted for that? I’m sure Art has all this jackass-ery well documented in the archives
That Bulldog got neutered in 2013!
Batman approves of your reference sir 🙂
I’m just surprised that there are people here besides me that know what an Alvino Ray Gun is!!!
