Unaccompanied Central American Children Showing Up In Freehold

10547427_10203042180510060_8402511199330115770_nBetween 5 and 10 Central American children, ages 11-16, who have crossed our borders without adults have found their way to Freehold Borough, according to a statement by Rita Dentino, Director of Casa Freehold, an immigrants rights organization that helps newly arrived immigrants integrate into the community.

Dentino said that more children are arriving everyday, according to a report in the Sentinal.

State Senator Jennifer Beck issued a statement today saying she is working with federal and state officials to secure funding to deal with the situation and to evaluate New Jersey’s legal options and obligations.

“This is an issue with far ranging implications that is being experienced all across the country. I am working closely with federal representatives and the Governor’s Office to fully understand our legal options and obligations. I am hopeful that money will come from the federal government as part of an overall response to this issue. There are real humanitarian, fiscal and capacity concerns so all decisions must be fully vetted. I will continue to communicate openly with local officials to keep all appraised of our progress.”

Published reports indicate that over 1,500 Central American children have arrived in New Jersey.  The federal government operates only one 10 bed facility in the State, and none of the children are housed there.

Dentino told the Sentinal that she would be contacting DYFS (Division of Youth and Family Services) to begin the process of finding the children guardians.

    First, we need to be a nation of laws. A nation without borders is no longer a nation.

    Second, how many of these “children” are members of gangs (some rather violent)?

    Third, yes, we as Americans do have compassion, but we need to understand that paying “coyotes” (read drug cartel members) and sending the very young into danger is plainly CHILD ABUSE by the parents. Accepting this is supporting CHILD ABUSE.

    Fourth, this is not just about the very young; mentioned in this specific article the ages of between 11 and 16. We are now being told that this illegal, undocumented, immigration influx includes residents from Ebola stricken African countries, as well as from countries where radical Islam is gaining strength.

    Perhaps if those who applaud sending “children” to trek through Mexico in the hands of “coyotes” would offer to adopt those “children”, there would be less of a problem and less of a cost to the American taxpayer.

    Secure the border first, and fix this broken immigration system so that we can control the influx of new immigrants and make sure they are not criminals, terrorists and carriers of communicable diseases.

    We must protect Americans, of all ethnic backgrounds, from this invasion. The American workers must also be protected from an influx of cheap labor which will only destroy the middle class in this country.

    Don’t even attempt to say I have no compassion – my wife and I adopted two children from South America. I ask you liberals – what have you done to help the children?

    As for the democrats, you controlled the White House, and the entire congress (House and Senate) for two years. What did you do to fix our immigration system? Absoultely nothing, nada, zip.

    It’s time for a real change in Washington DC to restore hope to every American family.

    According to the linked article, Casa Freehold is transporting these kids & adults. Once these kids arrive they are handed off to those a who cme to claim them. There is no oversight, some have documents & some don’t. Who are the people taking these kids? Are they family member or gang member? Anything can be happening to these kids. If these children are indeed being claimed by family, they don’t qualify for refugee status as per the 2008 Act. If they are being scooped up by those with nefarious intentions, Casa Freehold is participating in the activity the act adopted to protect these kids from.

    It makes me kind of sad that our Border Patrol and National Guard doesn’t seem to have the authority to use live fire on these criminal trespassers.

    I dare any of you to drive up to Canada, then on your return trip back into the United States, get to those US Customs gates and at the last second, just gun the gas pedal and speed on through. I’ll bet any US citizen who is allowed in this country who tries it the value of the car they try it in that you’ll be shot at and either killed or arrested within seconds, but these criminal trespassers have free reign to run the border crossings and disregard our laws with no such fears of being shot at or arrested and deported.

    We Americans are more fearful of our own government than anyone else, and we the citizens are treated far worse than any criminal trespassers. We pay for this mistreatment in our tax dollars and tolerate it because the tyrants employ our own brothers and sisters to mistreat us and our neighbors.

    God bless you and your family when Ebola and other diseases make it here. It sounds like the disease is already in Freehold so it’s only a short matter of time before there is an outbreak in our neighborhoods.

    As a long time resident of Freehold, let me just say that the last thing the town needs is any more illegal immigrant children to take care of, house, feed, and educate. “Where is your compassion, they are children??!!!” I choose to think of the other couple thousand children in Freehold Boro who’s education is suffering because of the money the town has to spend to educate Illegal Immigrant children, and the children of Illegal Immigrants (yes, many illegal immigrants have been there so long, they have had children who are now legal US citizens having been born in the USA).

    One other thought…how about if we send military resources to these poor Central and South American countries in order to restore peace, wipe out the drug cartels and gangs? Can we then seal up the border? Or do we continue to say, “It’s not our business to get involved in their countries issues, but feel free to keep sending your refugees to the USA where we’ll continue to pay for them…one million at a time”?
