More shake ups in the Monmouth Democratic Party

UPDATE:

Vincent Solomeno fought off his ouster as president of the Bayshore Democratic Club, at least temporarily.   An election has been scheduled for August 8.

Solomeno said, “The rumors of my death were greatly exaggerated.”

Solomeno to be ousted as president of Bayshore Democratic Club

The Bayshore Democratic Club will change its leadership tonight when Vincent Solomeno of Hazlet is replaced mid-term as president.  Solomeno is not resigning, he’s being dumped.

Michael DiCicco, a former Pt. Pleasant Beach counciman and municipal chair who moved to Middletown within the last couple of years will be the new president of the club, according to Democratic insiders who asked not to be named.

DiCicco is a partner in the Bathgate, Wegner & Wolf law firm.

The shakeup is being lead by outgoing Middletown Democratic Chairman Joe Caliendo.

Solomeno was a supporter of Marlboro Councilman Frank LaRocca’s unsuccessful campaign for Monmouth County Chairman.  That campaign waged primary challenges against the municipal chairs of Holmdel, Hazlet, and Keansburg, as well as challenges to incumbent committee members in Middletown, all of which failed.

Solomeno is closely aligned to the Democratic candidates for county office; Kevin Lavan and Bill Shea running for Freeholder and Michael Steinhorn running for County Clerk.   Former Monmouth Democratic Chairman Vic Scudiery called for Lavan, Shea and Steinhorn to resign their candidacies last week.

Hmmmm….seems slightly reminiscent of the “Night of the Long Knives”; couldn’t happen to a nicer group.

Wow…Caliendo and Scudiary still hard at work to screw people over. The Democratic Party seems like a Cuban government. If you have a difference of opinion, your kicked to the curb. What happened to democracy? It seems to be absent in Monmouth county.

The former president of the club never submitted a letter of resignation, so Solomino’s election wasn’t official; thus he was never ‘alive’ to begin with. He took a calculated political risk, made a bet and lost. He is now paying the price that comes with the gamble.

And there is an absence of transparency with the democratic political process in Monmouth County at all levels — both Democratic and Republican Parties, local government and county government.

Pilgrim you are a liar….the former president not only handed in a letter of resignation he also announced it to numerous people. You, DiCiccio and Caliendo need to stop lying and cheating others within your party just because they do not agree with your agenda. No wonder we cannot keep people within the clubs, who would want to put up with liars and people who wouldn’t know the truth if it hit them in the face. I and many, many others believe Solomeno is alive and well, he seems to do more for the party than most people who have been sitting around for the past 20 years. Do yourself and others a favor, if someone doesn’t agree with you turn the cheek……Walk away….Be a man…but most of all be Democrat and respect them for their opinion.
