Menendez Auditions to replace pig in insurance company campaign
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals has called on insurance giant GEICO to suspend its advertising campaign featuring Maxwell the Pig on a zip line.
Given the headaches GEICO has had with PETA over its sponsorship of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association, and GEICO’s close relationship with New Jersey Democrats, (GEICO lobbyist Eric Shuffer wrote two major speeches, including the State of the State, for Jon Corzine in 2006 and 2007) they are considering replacing Maxwell with U.S. Senator Bob “The Squealer” Menendez.
Here’s Menendez’s audition tape:
Menendez announced on twitter that his zipping was a success:
There were so many things I thought of saying on this……it was just too easy. I keep thinking of him (Menendez) at the 9/11 ten year anniversary memorial leaving “under God” out of the last verse of the Pledge of Allegiance and then I saw the pig and then him and…..well, I get in enough trouble so I’ll just leave this one alone.
oink.
don’t they just get a life, and smile, for once??.. when did we become a society with zero sense of humor, and our panties always in a bunch, and continually offended by SOMEthing or other?!!
