Monmouth Democrats Encourage Trump Protest At U.S. Women’s Open

The Monmouth County Democrats are encouraging their supporters to trek to Bedminster today for an organized anti-Trump rally at the U.S. Women’s Open golf tournament. President Trump is expected to be in attendance at the tournament which is being held on his property.

Asbury Park Man Pleads Guilty to Heroin Distribution

Robert “True” Britt, 45, of Asbury Park pleaded guilty to federal charges of conspiracy to distribute heroin in Ocean and Monmouth Counties today. U.S. District Judge Peter G. Sheridan accepted the plea during a hearing in U.S. District Court in Trenton, according to an announcement by Acting U.S. Attorney William E. Fitzpatrick.

NJ Shutdown Is Over

Both houses of the New Jersey Legislature passed a budget last night which Governor Chris Christie signed, ending the three day shutdown of non-essential government services.

New Jersey state parks and beaches will be open today, the 4th of July.  Courts, MVC offices and all other state operations will return to their normal operating hours tomorrow.

At at 10pm press conference announcing a deal on legislation to change the State’s oversight of Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield, Senate President Sweeney and Assembly Speaker Vincent Prieto said that would ask Christie to support their desire to pay state employees for their forced day off on July 3.
