Monmouth County Republican Chairman, Sheriff Shaun Golden has condemned the recent social media behavior of Sammy Gindi, an “off the line” candidate for the Republican nomination to challenge Congressman Frank Pallone in the fall. Golden called for Gindi to withdraw from the Republican primary.

In early April the four candidates running for two Republican nominations for Atlantic Highlands Borough Council declared in a facebook group that they would hold a “congenial and productive primary strengthening our Party for 2018 and beyond.” In early May the candidates said that they wanted the primary voters, “not individuals who want to wield control,” to choose the nominees.
The candidates, Penny Hofman-Morris, Richard Colangelo, Brian Boms, and Jim Murphy are all friends. Colangelo and Murphy work together. Boms coaches youth sports with Colangelo and does business him.
Disgraced Freeholder John Curley will not be on the ballot on Saturday, February 3 when the Monmouth County Republican Committee selects its nominee for the freeholder seat that he currently holds.
Sue Kiley, the Deputy Mayor of Hazlet, is the only candidate for the nomination who submitted a letter of intent on time and with the required number of signatures from County Committee members per the Party By-Laws.Read the rest of this entry »

Freeholder candidates Pat Impreveduto and Lillian Burry will face a primary challenge on June 6
Monmouth County Clerk Christine Giordano Hanlon ruled yesterday that the Freeholder slates endorsed by the Monmouth County Republican Organization and those submitted by the Ciattarelli for Governor campaign both had enough qualifying signatures on their nominating petitions to appear on the ballot for the June 6 primary. Freeholder Director Lillian Burry and Holmdel Deputy Mayor Pat Impreveduto will be challenged by Dr. Bernard Dowd, a veterinarian from Oceanport and Susan Ellen Metz of Middletown.
Monmouth County Republican Chairman Shaun Golden has scheduled a nominating convention for State and County Offices for Saturday, March 18. The convention will take place at iPlayAmerica in Freehold Township at 8:30 a.m. for registration. The proceedings will start at 9:30 a.m. sharp.
The GOP County Committee is will endorse candidates for the June 6 Primary for the offices of Governor, State Senate in the 11th, 12th, 13th and 30th legislative districts, General Assembly (two seats per district) in the same districts and the Freeholder seats currently held by Lillian Burry and Gary Rich.
